Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 – Tohsaka Rin's Shock

Bang—bang—bang—!!!

The clash of Noble Phantasms produced another blazing blast.

Again the sky bloomed with sun-like fire, illuminating everything around.

It was only a probing strike; anyone could see that.

Demon Slayer World.

Inside the Infinity Castle, Kibutsuji Muzan's expression turned slightly grave—such power from a casual blow?

So Gilgamesh truly has some skill… but if that's all, I have nothing to fear.

For the moment, Kibutsuji Muzan remained confident.

In the Type-Moon/Fate World, the focus was no longer Gilgamesh but Tohsaka Rin at school.

It was lunchtime; she opened the multiverse projection and, seeing a recommended clip, thought she might as well watch while she ate.

Just then scene #8 played. Her eyes widened: "That's a Servant?! And… Emiya-kun?! How can a human fight a Servant?!"

As head of the Tohsaka family, she knew the Fifth Holy Grail War was about to begin—and she would have to take part.

Only by winning the Grail could she fulfill her family's long-cherished wish.

The same wish her father had died pursuing.

Yet here was a video on the multiverse projection about the War—and it showed Emiya-kun!

Though they weren't close yet, Rin had secretly kept an eye on him ever since junior-high, when she saw him doggedly practicing a hopeless high-jump.

That stubborn effort made the name Emiya Shirou stick in her mind.

Now, seeing him battle a Servant as a mere human, the self-assured Tohsaka Rin was stunned.

She shoved her lunch aside and sprinted off to find Emiya-kun—he would be eating right now.

She had to demand an explanation!

On-screen, Gilgamesh watched the explosion with casual ease and chuckled, "For glasswork, it holds together rather well."

"But rush the imitation and it will shatter."

As the words fell, more weapons surfaced behind him in golden ripples.

Shirou raised his left hand, eyed those ripples, and declared, "Trace, on!"

Countless copied Noble Phantasms appeared behind him.

Yet his left hand trembled; he was nearing his limit.

"A foolish notion," Gilgamesh said calmly. "Removing the Grail because you cannot beat me is logical—so simply kill that man."

As he spoke, the scene shifted.

A nauseating image filled the screen: a boy and girl seated on a grotesque lump of flesh oozing blood.

"That's me?! And… Shinji??" Rin, still running, skidded in disbelief.

Did it mean she would ally with Emiya-kun in the coming War?

Impossible—the Holy Grail War was kill or be killed.

She paused, deciding to watch the rest first; she could confront Shirou afterward.

Meanwhile, Gilgamesh, basking in the sun, recognized the footage: the Fifth Holy Grail War about to begin.

He would use it to unleash the Grail's contents and visit calamity upon the world,

testing these "worthless" humans.

But now his plan seemed to hit a small snag.

The video continued: with Rin and Matou Shinji in the background, Gilgamesh stated, "To stop the Grail, killing Shinji is correct. Yet you still try to save him—such hypocrisy."

The camera cut back to his sneering face: "The very embodiment of a mongrel."

Shirou said nothing; his outstretched left hand shook as strain twisted his features.

Projecting so many Noble Phantasms in so short a time, even with Rin's mana, was pushing him past his limit.

Just as the two were about to clash again, something changed.

Boom—!!

An explosion sounded nearby.

Gilgamesh frowned and glanced sideways.

Where the explosion had sounded, a fleshy pillar now stood upon the earth.

The next moment the pillar writhed, a white arm thrusting from its body and reaching toward Gilgamesh.

One-Punch Man World

Gross, Saitama's face was all disgust; whatever that thing was, it clearly wasn't edible.

Genos nodded slightly, agreeing—this thing really did look nauseating.

It wasn't just Saitama; everyone else furrowed their brows at the sight.

Emiya Shirou and that glittering golden guy were clearly about to fight when this revolting intruder barged in.

Whoever you were, you just wanted the eyesore gone—drop dead already.

Having lost its core, it now seeks this king?

Inside the video, Gilgamesh was equally displeased; the golden ripples beside him vanished as he raised a hand, and a new golden ripple appeared above his palm.

The ripple faded, leaving a golden key in Gilgamesh's grasp.

Tohsaka… Shirou looked toward the white giant hand, worry on his face—Tohsaka Rin was over there.

A crimson flash erupted; Shirou instinctively shielded his eyes, then turned toward the source of the light.

He saw countless red filaments filling the sky, as though analyzing something.

The threads converged and rained downward.

In Gilgamesh's hand now rested a weapon that looked like a sword—or perhaps a staff.
