Chapter 73 - chapter 72

Chapter 72 – death

It wasn't a fight.

Not really.

One moment, they stood ready—Barry, Kara, Oliver, Sara, Ronnie, Martin, Kate—all of them.

Prepared to fight for Dante. To die for him, if they had to.

The next moment—

White light. Energy crackling. A pull, like gravity turned inside out.

And then—

Silence.

Barry stumbled forward.

He looked around.

Steel walls. Familiar gear racks. Worn-out mats.

> "We're back…"

The training hall.

Ronnie gasped. "What the hell just happened?"

Sara shook her head. "Did we win?"

"No…" Kara whispered, her eyes scanning the room. "This isn't victory."

Barry's heart dropped. He looked around again, frantic now.

> "Wait. Where's Dante?"

Silence.

They all froze.

Kate was the first to speak. "He's not here."

Martin frowned. "Then… he's still on the ship?"

Oliver cursed under his breath. "Damn it…"

"They took him," Barry said, voice trembling. "They took him and left us here."

---

Out in space.

On the cold, black edge of existence, floating in a void where suns die and time forgets—

Dante stood alone.

The walls of the Dominators' mothership shimmered in crimson light.

Before him, the creatures stood. Unmoving. Watching.

He took one slow breath.

> "So let me get this straight…"

He tilted his head.

His black and red suit crackled softly. His voice was calm. Measured. Almost amused.

> "You gave my friends a choice. Give me up, or die trying to protect me."

> "And when they chose to protect me…"

He took a step forward.

> "You removed them. You sent them back to Earth. You left me here."

The Dominators didn't respond. Their glowing eyes were unreadable. Cold. Silent.

Dante chuckled.

Low. Unhinged.

> "Ohhh, you made a big mistake."

His eyes began to glow.

The ship hummed around him.

> "I hold back. Every time. Because I'm afraid I'll hurt them. The people I care about."

> "But now…"

His arms spread wide.

Red lightning burst around him—like a storm tearing through his veins. His hair rose, charged by the sheer force building inside him.

His grin twisted. His eyes burned.

> "Now I'm all alone…"

> "Now I can f*** around."

> "And no innocent people are gonna get hurt."

His voice dropped into a whisper, drenched in malice and joy.

> "So…"

> "Bring it on, motherf***ers."

And then he moved.

The Dominators didn't even have time to react.

BOOM.

A punch tore through one of their stomachs, bloodless and clean.

Another turned—only to have their head snapped clean off by a spinning kick.

No hesitation. No mercy.

Dante was everywhere.

Faster than thought.

His laughter echoed through the ship.

> "YES! THIS is what I'm talking about!"

He darted down the corridor, red lightning dancing along the walls. Every Dominator that appeared—

Gone.

A blur.

A punch.

A scream.

Then silence.

He tore through the ship like a living storm.

Through control rooms. Through hangars. Through tech labs.

Bodies fell like leaves.

His power didn't flicker—it roared.

For the first time, there were no chains on him.

No guilt.

No restraint.

Only chaos.

Only wrath.

He was beautiful and monstrous. A one-man apocalypse.

---

He stood atop the broken hull of the ship's main deck, soaked in heat and power.

Dominators tried to regroup.

They aimed their weapons. Charged their energy cannons.

Too late.

Dante ran at them.

He didn't dodge—he crashed through.

One body split in half.

Another exploded from within.

A final one begged—silent eyes wide.

He smiled.

> "Too late for mercy."

He punched through its chest and kept running.

---

On Earth.

Back in Star Labs—

Cisco's fingers danced across the console.

"Okay, I've hacked into the old S.T.A.R. satellite net," he said. "I've got a visual. Opening external view from orbit—now."

The monitor flared to life.

Everyone gathered around.

Kara gasped.

Sara whispered, "Oh my God…"

On the screen—

Dante.

Running through space.

From ship to ship.

He leapt from one broken Dominator vessel to another like stepping stones.

Explosions followed him like a trail of fire.

One ship ripped in half.

Another ignited from the inside.

He wasn't flying—he was running on space debris, using his momentum to hurl himself between wreckage, a blur of red lightning in the void.

> "He's not just fighting," Ronnie said, stunned. "He's… destroying them."

Martin was speechless.

Kate turned away from the screen, trembling.

"He's… smiling," she said.

And he was.

On the feed, Dante was laughing.

Like a man finally freed.

Finally unleashed.

Barry stared at the screen.

"Jesus, Dante…"

Oliver's jaw clenched. "He's not holding back."

"No," Barry agreed. "He's not."

.....

In space.

The last Dominator General stood in the central chamber, panicked.

Dante burst through the floor, landing like a meteor.

The impact crushed the structure.

> "Is this all you've got?!"

The Dominator screamed, firing a plasma blast—

Dante caught it.

With one hand.

The energy rippled up his arm.

He grinned.

> "Cute."

Then he hurled the blast back—

And vaporized the general.

The ship began to fall apart.

Dante stood alone, in the heart of a dying empire.

His hair wild, red lightning crawling around his body like snakes.

He looked out into the stars.

And smiled.

> "You tried to take me from my people…"

> "Now I've taken everything from you."

---

On Earth, the feed began to distort.

Cisco yelled, "I'm losing signal! The ship—it's breaking up!"

Barry leaned in. "Can we contact him?"

"No. We'd need a quantum comm-link—he's too far out. And the energy readings? Off the charts."

Sara: "He did it. He took them all out."

Kara looked shaken. "That wasn't Dante. That was…"

"The Red Doom," Martin said softly.

---

And back in space—

Alone among the wreckage, standing atop the ruin of the last Dominator warship—

Dante breathed in deep.

He closed his eyes.

And for the first time in a long time—

> He felt nothing but peace.
