Chapter 65 – "They Came from the Sky"

It was just like any other day at S.T.A.R. Labs.

Cisco and Wells were arguing—again—over music.

"I'm telling you, his voice is meant for 'Creep,'" Wells insisted, arms folded as he leaned back in his chair.

Cisco threw his hands up. "No! No way! He's born for 'Hurt' by Johnny Cash. It's raw, emotional, tragic—he'll destroy us with it."

Barry was laughing at their back-and-forth like it was a weekly sitcom. Caitlin, perched on the edge of a lab stool, sipped her coffee, smiling. The room was warm with light and life.

Dante stood off to the side, back against the glass, smoking quietly by the console, giving them all a dead-eyed look that screamed, I would like to go back in time and delete this timeline.

He exhaled slowly. "One viral video and you guys turn into Spotify."

Cisco spun toward him. "You're not getting out of it, Dante. The internet has spoken."

Dante flicked ash into a cup. "Let me know when the internet is ready to be wiped out."

The banter carried on like usual—until the alarm went off.

The sound was sharp, shrill, and immediate. Everything stopped.

Cisco darted to the screen, fingers flying over the keyboard.

"Something just entered the atmosphere," he muttered. "Fast. Big. No I.D."

The screen flashed an image: a large, spiked alien ship, slowly descending into Central City like a nightmare made of metal.

Caitlin stood up. "What the hell is that?"

Wells narrowed his eyes. "It's not from Earth."

Barry's jaw tightened. "Suiting up."

As Barry blurred out of the room, Dante stepped forward, already crackling with the Void Force, prepared to follow.

"Wait!" Cisco called out.

Dante paused mid-stride, annoyed. "What?"

Cisco reached under the console and tossed something at him—a black bag.

"Put this on."

Dante caught it, then narrowed his eyes. "If this is another 'TikTok: The Musical' T-shirt, I swear I'll—"

"Just open it," Cisco smirked.

Dante unzipped the bag. Inside was a custom suit a new suit—black with blood-red streaks across the shoulders and chest. It wasn't armor. It wasn't spandex. It looked more like a modern reaper's coat, sleek and fluid, designed for movement, power, and chaos.

It looked like it belonged to a villain.

He kind of loved it.

Dante raised an eyebrow. "You made this for me?"

"I don't sleep much," Cisco said with a shrug. "Also, I figured you'd look like a badass in black and red. Guess what? I was right."

Dante pulled it on in a blink, shadows dancing around him as the Void Force fed into the material, giving it a subtle shimmer of menace.

He looked at Cisco and, for the first time that day, actually smiled.

"Fine," Dante said. "When this is over, I'll sing your song."

Cisco grinned, looking skyward like he just scored a date with a goddess.

"Ohhh sweet Jesus, thank you so much for this moment."

Then Dante vanished into a blur of black and red.

Downtown Central City

The ship had landed in the middle of Centennial Park, crushing trees and flattening half a statue of some forgotten mayor.

Barry stood there, suited and ready, electricity crackling around him. Dante appeared beside him like a shadow peeling from the night.

The ship was massive. Sleek but menacing. The kind of design that didn't say peaceful visit but rather invasive colonization.

Barry squinted up. "No markings. No flags. Just dropped out of nowhere."

Dante crossed his arms. "I mean… it could be Goku."

Barry turned his head slowly. "Goku?"

"Yeah," Dante shrugged. "Dude loves fighting. Maybe he's bored and picked Earth Prime to screw around on. Frankly, I'm in the mood to throw hands."

Barry chuckled. "If Goku steps out of that ship, I'm letting you handle it."

Dante smiled so wide " hell yeah man I'm one hundred percent on that. I just want to throw hands with that man . Just imagine it . The void force agents the Saiyan god "

Before barry could reply, the ship began to hiss.

Steam burst out of the vents.

A large ramp extended to the ground.

And then… they came.

Five of them at first, walking in sync like they owned the damn planet. Their bodies were grotesque, tall and sinewy, their skin a sickly shade of grayish-green. Large, bulbous heads. Sharp teeth. Clawed fingers. Eyes that glowed with unnatural yellow light.

Barry took a step forward. "What the hell—?"

"I've seen a lot of horror movies," Dante muttered. "They're usually the ones who probe things."

The creatures stopped ten feet away.

One of them tilted its head and released a high-pitched screech.

More figures began descending from the ship. Dozens.

Cisco's voice crackled in their comms. "Guys, I'm scanning them now. They're not from any recorded Earth database. But based on their tech and DNA readings—these guys aren't tourists."

Barry tensed. "Any name?"

"…No, but if I had to guess—based on some buried ARGUS files—these might be the Dominators."

"Dominators?" Barry repeated.

"Alien race. High intelligence. Aggressive expansionists. Also, they hate metahumans."

Dante cracked his neck. "Perfect. Let's give them a reason."

The lead Dominator opened its mouth—and spoke in a distorted, broken mimicry of English.

"Metahuman… threat."

Barry blinked. "That was weirdly direct."

The Dominator raised its hand. An energy blast exploded from its palm and slammed into the ground beside them, throwing debris into the air.

Dante grinned, eyes dark with thrill.

"Well," he said, stepping forward, "so much for diplomacy."

Barry ran forward in a blur, taking out two with lightning-fast punches. Dante exploded into motion, shadows swirling around him like a storm. He dodged a blast, appeared behind a Dominator, and sent it flying with a Void-charged kick.

The park lit up with chaos. Blasts of alien tech shot across the grass, trees burst into flames, and the sky was filled with the sound of war.

From the top of the ship, more Dominators poured out—over fifty now.

Barry zipped through them like a hurricane, lightning trailing in his wake.

Dante didn't move like Barry. He glided. Like a phantom made of hate and flame. He moved through the Dominators like they were paper, his strikes efficient, brutal, and unrelenting.

At one point, Barry shouted through the comms, "Dante! You good?"

Dante slammed a Dominator into the ground and shouted back, "This is the most fun I've had since ever !"

Cisco's voice cracked in again. "Guys, more ships incoming. This wasn't just a scout ship. This is an invasion."

Barry and Dante locked eyes across the battlefield.

No words were needed.

They both turned toward the ship—toward the incoming wave.

And they charged together.
