Chapter 3 - Your Heartbeats Are Mine

When the Game Began

Outside - In the Rain

Virat was holding Aditi's hand. Both were drenched.

"Take me home," Aditi said, but there was no warmth in her voice.

"Aditi, please, just once—"

"Enough. Not another word."

They arrived at Virat's house in silence. Aditi went straight to the bedroom and locked the door.

Virat stood outside, helpless.

The Next Morning

When Virat woke up, Aditi was gone.

The bed was cold. Her scent was fading.

A note lay on the table:

"I need time. Time to be alone. Please don't try to find me. - Aditi"

Virat crumpled the paper in his fist. Tears welled up in his eyes.

But he didn't call Aditi. He respected her wishes.

Three Days Later - Virat's Studio

Virat was in his music studio, but no melody was coming to him.

Only Aditi's image was swirling in his head. That video, her tears, her pain.

Then a message arrived on his phone from an unknown number.

Unknown: "Virat, if you want Aditi back, come to Warehouse Number 7, Sector 18 tonight at 11 PM. Alone."

Virat's blood ran cold.

"What is this?" he asked himself.

He immediately called Aditi. Switched off.

He called Simran. "Simran, where is Aditi?"

"I don't know, Virat. She hasn't spoken to me for three days either."

Virat's heart pounded.

"Something is wrong," he said.

11 PM - Warehouse Number 7

The place was deserted. It was dark. Only a single flickering bulb was lit.

Virat went inside.

"Who's here?" he called out. Then the lights came on.

And what Virat saw froze him in his tracks.

Aditi wasn't there.

But Rahul was. Aditi's ex-boyfriend.

And with him was... Neha.

"Surprise?" Rahul said with a wicked grin.

Virat was bewildered. "You... both of you? But how—"

"Sit down," Neha said in a cold voice. "We have a story for you."

The Truth Revealed

Rahul stepped forward. There was a strange glint in his eyes.

"Virat bhai," he said, "you must be wondering what all this is about, right?"

"Where is Aditi?" Virat growled.

"She's safe. For now." Rahul took out his phone. He showed a picture.

It was Aditi. In a room. Sleeping.

"What did you do to her?" Virat lunged forward, but two men suddenly appeared from the shadows and stopped him.

"Nothing," Neha said. "Just a little sleeping pill. She's fine. But... if you don't cooperate, she might not be."

Virat's fists clenched. "What do you people want?"

Rahul laughed. "Just a little game. Look, Virat... Aditi was mine. Only mine. But I made a mistake, and she left me. Now she's with you."

"So?"

"So now I want you to let her go."

Virat laughed. A bitter laugh. "Are you crazy? I'll never leave Aditi."

"Oh, but you will have to," Neha stepped forward. "Look, Rahul and I have a deal. I want Virat. Rahul wants Aditi. So we made a plan."

"That video..." Virat understood.

"Yes," Neha smiled. "I made it. To break Aditi. So she would leave you. And go back to Rahul."

"But it didn't work," Rahul said bitterly. "You two stayed together anyway. So now... we have to use Plan B."

Virat's heart was pounding. "What's Plan B?"

Rahul threw an envelope at him.

"It contains some pictures. Of you and Neha. Very... compromising pictures. Photoshopped, obviously. But they look so real that Aditi will never believe they're fake."

Virat opened the envelope. And what he saw inside made his blood boil. There were pictures—Virat and Neha, in bed, naked, in extremely intimate poses.

All fake. All Photoshopped. But to look at... they looked completely real.

"You bastard—" Virat lunged forward but was stopped again.

"Now listen," Rahul said. "You have two options. Either you leave Aditi. Tell her clearly that you don't love her. Get her out of your life. Or... these pictures will reach her. And you know what she'll think."

Tears welled up in Virat's eyes. "You don't understand... Aditi is my life. Without her—"

"Then you have to choose," Neha said. "Hurt her once. Break up with her cleanly. Or torment her forever with these pictures."

"And what if I call the police?"

Rahul laughed. "Then you'll never see Aditi again. We have a lot of people, Virat. And you... what do you have?"

Virat was helpless.

This wasn't a choice. It was torture.

"You have 48 hours," Rahul said. "Either break up with Aditi. Or... lose her forever."

The next day - Aditi's house

Aditi woke up. Her head was heavy.

"Where... where am I?" She looked around—she was in her own house.

She couldn't remember anything. The last thing she remembered was being in a cafe, drinking coffee.

After that... darkness.

She checked her phone. 27 missed calls from Virat.

She called him back.

"Aditi?" Virat's voice came through. Tired. Broken.

"Virat, I... I don't know what happened. I was at the cafe and then—"

"Nothing. It's enough that you're okay." Virat's voice was strange. Distant.

"Virat, what happened? Are you alright?"

Silence.

"Virat?"

"Aditi... I need to see you. Now. I'm coming to your house."

The call ended.

Aditi didn't understand anything. But she had a bad feeling.

An hour later - Aditi's house

Virat was standing at the door. His eyes were swollen. There were scratches on his face.

"Virat! What happened to you?" Aditi asked, worried.

"Nothing. Shall we go inside?"

They went inside. They sat on the sofa.

Virat took a deep breath.

This moment... this moment was the most difficult moment of his life.

"Aditi..." His voice was trembling.

"Yes?"

"I... I want to tell you something."

Aditi's heart started beating faster. "What is it?"

Virat looked into her eyes. Those eyes that he loved so much. And now... now he was going to hurt them forever.

"I... I don't love you."

Aditi's breath hitched.

"What?"

"I said—I don't love you." Virat tried to make his voice firm. "All this... all this was a mistake. You and I... we can't be together." "But... but you said—"

"I was lying." Virat hid his face. He couldn't look into Aditi's eyes. "Forgive me. But I... I can't continue in this relationship."

Aditi's tears began to flow. "No... that's not true. Virat, look into my eyes and say it."

"No."

"Look!"

Virat finally looked at her. And what Aditi saw—was pain. Deep, unbearable pain.

But she couldn't understand why there was so much pain.

"I'm leaving," Virat stood up. "Goodbye, Aditi."

And he left.

Aditi remained sitting there, stunned.

Her world... had shattered again.

But the story doesn't end here...

Because Simran had seen everything.

She was following Virat.

And now... the real battle was about to begin.
