Her Heartbeats Are Yours Chapter 2: When Truth Shattered Everything
The Next Morning - Aditi's Apartment
Aditi's eyes were swollen and red. Crying all night had left her face puffy and flushed.
She checked her phone screen — 47 missed calls. 89 messages.
All from Virat.
But she hadn't opened a single one.
"No," she told herself firmly. "Not this time. I won't be weak again."
Her mind drifted to her ex — Rahul. He'd said the same things too. "She's just a friend." Then one day, she'd caught Rahul in bed with that very 'friend.'
Suddenly, her phone buzzed with a notification.
Unknown Number:"Want to know the truth? Watch this video."
Aditi's heart skipped a beat.
She hesitated, finger hovering over the download button. Then she clicked it.
As the video began to play, her breath caught in her throat.
In the Video...
The camera quality was grainy, but the faces were crystal clear.
Virat. And Neha.
They were in an apartment. Dim lighting casting shadows across the room.
Neha cupped Virat's face in her hands and kissed him deeply.
Virat kissed her back.
Aditi's hands started trembling.
The video continued. Virat guided Neha toward the sofa, laying her down gently. His fingers moved to the buttons of her shirt, unbuttoning them one by one.
"Virat... please..." Neha's breathy voice filled the audio.
"Shh... just feel this," Virat murmured.
The video showed more — Virat's lips trailing down Neha's neck, her hands tangling in his hair, pulling him closer. His shirt came off. Then hers. The camera angle shifted, showing them on the sofa, bodies intertwined, moving together in a rhythm that left nothing to imagination about what was happening.
Neha's soft moans. Virat's heavy breathing. The intimacy between them was undeniable.
Though the most explicit parts were obscured by their positioning, what was visible was more than enough.
Aditi's phone slipped from her hands and clattered to the floor.
She collapsed onto the ground, her breathing rapid and shallow.
"No... no... this is a lie..." she whispered to herself.
But it was him. His face, his voice, his mannerisms — everything was unmistakably Virat.
Another message buzzed.
Unknown Number:"This video is 2 months old. While you were with him, he was with her too. Still want to trust him?"
A scream tore from Aditi's throat.
She grabbed the vase from the side table and hurled it at the wall. Glass shattered everywhere, fragments scattering across the floor like her broken heart.
"LIAR! CHEATER!" she screamed into the empty apartment.
Tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.
She frantically grabbed her phone and started deleting everything — Virat's messages, their photos together, every memory. Her finger moved furiously, erasing him from her digital life.
Then came the pounding on her door.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
"Aditi! Open the door!"
Virat's voice.
"Go away!" she screamed.
"No! I'm not leaving until you hear me out!"
"I don't want to hear anything from you!"
"Aditi, please—"
"I SAID GO AWAY!"
Silence fell.
Aditi thought maybe he'd left. She crept to the door and looked through the peephole.
Virat was sitting on the floor outside, his head buried in his hands.
Her heart clenched painfully. But she didn't open the door.
Virat's Side - 6 Hours Later
Virat was still sitting outside her door.
The elderly neighbor lady had asked twice, "Son, are you alright?"
He'd just nodded.
Evening fell. Darkness began to settle.
Then Aditi's door opened.
Virat jumped to his feet. "Aditi—"
But the woman who stepped out was almost unrecognizable. Heavy makeup. Tight black dress that hugged every curve. High heels.
It was Aditi — but a completely different version.
"Where... where are you going?" Virat asked, his voice breaking.
"None of your business," Aditi replied coldly.
"Aditi, please just listen to me—"
"I've heard enough. Now let me go."
She moved forward but Virat caught her wrist.
"Let go of me," she said, tears welling in her eyes despite her cold tone.
"No. Not until you forgive me."
"Forgive you?" Aditi laughed bitterly. "To forgive you, I'd have to trust you first. And I... I can't trust anyone anymore."
She yanked her hand free and walked toward the elevator.
Virat stood there, completely shattered.
That Night - Club Privé
Aditi was at the club with her friend Simran.
"Girl, that guy is totally eye-fucking you," Simran said, nodding toward a handsome man standing near the bar.
Aditi glanced over. He was indeed staring at her intensely.
"So?" she said, downing a shot.
"So go have some fun. Forget about Virat."
"I already have forgotten him," Aditi lied.
The man approached them.
"Hey, I'm Arjun," he said with a confident smile. "You're absolutely stunning."
Aditi smiled back. "Thanks."
"Want to dance?"
Aditi looked at Simran, who gave an encouraging nod.
"Why not?"
Meanwhile - Virat's Apartment
Virat was frantically checking his phone.
Aditi's last location — Club Privé.
"No," he muttered to himself. "What is she doing there?"
He grabbed his jacket and rushed out.
Club Privé - Dance Floor
Arjun placed his hand on Aditi's waist as they moved to the music.
The bass was loud, lights were flashing, and Aditi... Aditi was trying to lose herself in the moment.
"Did you come here alone?" Arjun whispered in her ear.
"Yes," she said, which was half true.
"Good," Arjun smiled. "I like girls who come alone."
His hand started sliding lower.
Aditi felt uncomfortable. "Wait—"
Suddenly, someone grabbed Arjun's wrist.
Virat.
His eyes were blazing with fury.
"Stay away from her," he said in a low, dangerous voice.
"Who the hell are you?" Arjun challenged.
"Her—"
"NOBODY!" Aditi yelled. "Virat, what are you doing here?"
"Saving you."
"I don't need saving!"
"Really?" Virat glared at Arjun. "Then who's this?"
"My new friend," Aditi said sharply.
Pain flashed across Virat's face.
"Fine," he said. "If you don't want me, I'll leave. But Aditi... remember one thing. I never cheated on you. And I never will."
He turned to walk away.
Aditi's heart started pounding wildly.
"Virat, wait—"
But then Arjun pulled her waist against him.
"Let him go, baby. You're with me now."
And he tried to force a kiss on her.
THUD!
Suddenly, Arjun hit the floor.
Virat had punched him.
"I said — stay away from her," Virat growled.
Security guards came running.
"Both of you, out! Now!"
Virat grabbed Aditi's hand and pulled her out of the club.
