Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Building Bonds

Weston's words invigorated Mavis, who then leaned forward, her entire body moving closer.

"Do you already have a plan?"

The girl's youthful scent wafted over, but Weston's heart remained as firm as stone, unmoved. He merely rotated the virtual interface in front of him slightly, allowing her to see it more clearly.

Mavis was an extremely fast reader, able to skim ten lines at a glance. In a matter of seconds, she finished reading Weston's plan, even forming conjectures and ideas for things he hadn't yet written.

"You want to move the entire Guild to the mainland?"

"That's only natural, isn't it? If we don't move to the mainland, the entire plan will be meaningless!"

For a Guild to develop, it needs to accept and complete quests.

In other words, it requires frequent contact with people from the outside world.

On Tenrou Island, due to the terrain, it's difficult for ordinary people to send in requests, which means the Guild is destined not to become powerful.

Previously, Fairy Tail only served the people of Tenrou Village, so it wasn't an issue. But if the Guild is to grow large in the future, relocating to the mainland is a must.

Mavis naturally understood this principle and didn't dwell on this decision too much.

She noticed another problem: "I remember the nearest port Towns to Tenrou Island is Hargeon, right?"

"But why does your plan involve moving Fairy Tail to Magnolia? Is there anything special about that Town?"

Weston replied, "Magnolia is where Blue Skull is located."

"Blue Skull?!"

Mavis instinctively gasped softly.

The name of this Magic Guild, which had not been mentioned for a long time but was crucial to Tenrou Village and changed the fate of everyone on the island, remained firmly etched in her mind.

"That's right, Blue Skull."

Weston's eyes narrowed as he gazed into the void, his expression turning serious: "Back then, they destroyed our home, killed so many people, and stole the tenrou jade that our island had protected for generations. They must pay the price!"

"We haven't acted all these years because the island lacked sufficient strength."

"But now, Fairy Tail... no, we already have enough combat power!"

"We can finally fight back, settle accounts with Blue Skull, and reclaim the tenrou jade!"

Another battle?

This time, it seemed like an unavoidable fight.

But why did it change from 'Fairy Tail' to 'we'... was it because he didn't want the other islanders to get involved in the conflict?

Mavis knew that the 'we' Weston spoke of referred to the three people present.

She subconsciously glanced at Zera, finding her still sound asleep, and felt a little more at ease.

"Allowing the villagers to leave Tenrou Island, develop on the mainland, relocating the Guild, settling accounts with Blue Skull, and reclaiming the tenrou jade—these are one reason."

"What about the other reason?"

Her intuition told Mavis that this second reason was Weston's main motive for keeping the three of them.

"As for the other reason..."

Weston's lips curved into a slight smile: "I feel a strong connection with the three of them and want to invite them to join our Guild!"

According to the original plot of Fairy Tail, Yuri and his two companions would confront Blue Skull with Mavis, form a friendship in the process, and eventually create Fairy Tail together.

However, due to Weston's interference, the situation on Tenrou Island was now different.

There were more living people here, and Mavis was no longer a lonely girl who had spent seven years with 'Phantom Zera', nor had she formed deep bonds with Yuri and the others.

Thus, whether Yuri and the others would join became an unknown.

So Weston had to be proactive, letting the other members of the Guild build bonds with them, and if necessary, he could even step forward himself.

Anyway, they were all going to become nakama, so who cared who took the first step?

The next day, the sun shone brightly.

Today marked the seventh anniversary of Tenrou Village's founding, and the villagers had all risen early to prepare for the grand feast that evening.

In fact, the decor had already been completed days ago.

Today, the villagers had only one task:

Cooking!

Cooking all sorts of dishes!

The village chefs would butcher and prepare the seven large wild beasts caught in previous days, along with various cultivated and gathered vegetables and fruits, boiling, stewing, stir-frying, or deep-frying them into a variety of delicious dishes.

Finally, these foods, along with the prepared alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, would be transported to the central plaza within the village.

As night fell, everyone would gather, singing and dancing, enjoying the feast to their heart's content.

However, these tasks were naturally left to the adults.

The village children, as usual, woke up, washed, and after breakfast, ran towards the Guild.

Today, they were going to learn combat techniques from Yuri and the others.

On the Schoolhouse playground next to the Guild.

Forty to fifty children gathered, chatting and laughing, eager to witness the skills of Yuri and his companions.

When Yuri and his two companions arrived and saw the children waiting before them, they all froze in place.

"I did say I could teach you combat techniques, but I didn't expect so many people to come..."

With so many people, even if the three of them took turns, they would surely be exhausted!

"Not all of them are here to learn fighting techniques; you should be prepared."

Weston walked out from the crowd.

"Uh... Guild Master Weston, what do you mean by that?"

Weston smiled and said, "You're not members of Fairy Tail yet, so just call me Weston."

What does 'not yet' mean?

It's as if he's saying we'll join Fairy Tail later... Could it be that this Weston, because he reads too few books and has a low cultural level, doesn't know the difference between 'not yet' and 'not'?"

Yuri and his two companions secretly grumbled in their hearts, but tacitly did not point out the 'mistake' in Weston's words.

Weston continued, "The children in the Guild are at an age where they're very competitive, especially the boys. They practically argue and compete every day in the Guild to see who's stronger."

"Yesterday, after they heard you were going to teach everyone fighting techniques, they got competitive."

"So some of these people aren't here to learn, but to challenge you."

I see... "We were truly rude to make this decision yesterday without consulting you."

Yuri said, sincerely attempting to bow.

Weston shook his head and smiled, "Not at all."

"In fact, I've always thought it's a terrible thing for Mages to rely too much on magic and neglect physical training."

"Because if that happens, once they encounter an opponent with incompatible magic, they will fall into an inevitable defeat."

"At this time, if the Mage himself possesses a powerful physique, he can choose to abandon magic and engage in close-quarters combat with the opponent, which might turn the tide of battle."
