Anya had seen half the village and results of her treatments were showing. Some of the beast women began to show signs of heat and were ready to conceive. The males in return were very happy that their mates were healthy and looked after while they were away patrolling the outskirts of the village. They would also be seen on an emergency basis during an altercation, where Anya would have to administer quick relief and healing energy. The other beasts were beginning to notice how quickly the wolfmen would recover after an altercation and began to observe. It was beginning to be obvious that the wolf clan had something or someone helping them speed up their recovery.
Agatha was taking care of the intake, but she needed help administering herbal medicines and moving sick patients. Martha would be busy trying to convince new patients that their conditions were not life threatening and the beast healer will get to them in an orderly fashion. Doctor Anya was starting to see that her new office might need more help with the growing amount of visits some needed because she couldn't use healing energy on all of them. There was part of her that would prevent her from using her powers, because she knew it was a fix with medicine she can compose. There were also the new mothers that will need fixed visits to check their conditions. Soon, the villagers would be expecting more members running around that will also need visits. Anya needed to find help as soon as possible before it got overwhelming.
A help wanted sign was posted on the window of the office and to Anya's surprise there were plenty of volunteers who wanted to help. She decided that with this many volunteers, she can have Agatha teach them the different herbs, its uses and how to administer. She also wanted her to teach them the protocols of how to move a patient and assist them. It would be like a school for nursing. Was this too ambitious? Thought Anya. She then made up her mind and decided to start with a small group before she opened a school. That way, while Agatha is teaching, then the others who already know what to do can take on her current responsibilities. Agatha was now someone important to her office because she was reliable and trustworthy. Anya felt blessed to have her working by her side. She saw her as a motherly figure sometimes. When the office would be really busy, Agatha would force Anya to sit and eat lunch.
When Doctor Anya went to introduce the idea to Misty, she loved it. She wanted them to not wear a sign to distinguish them from the rest, in case spies learned of their skills and targeted their new medical aid. The war between beasts had not settled and they were still at risk of getting attacked. That is why they decided to not dedicate a building to teaching. Instead, Agatha would go to a home where they would meet for weeks to learn this new skill. Then once the curriculum is complete, Agatha will move on to a new group in a different home. This also ensured the safety of Doctor Anya, but Anya didn't like the idea of Agatha becoming the target.
Weeks later, the school was thriving. Agatha was able to teach 20 volunteers and some were so promising that they became instructors themselves. The office was moved to a new building to accommodate the increase of nursing assistants. Patients were seen more often and much faster. Doctor Anya was thrilled to witness something turn into a life changing event for all of them. Agatha can retire from being her assistant, but she insisted on staying close to her, even if it was to only serve her lunch and dinner.
One day, a foxbeast showed up at the village, injured. He was detained by the Wolfmen at the border. The foxman asked for medical help. He said, "It was rumored that the wolfbeast village had miracle workers. I came here seeking for a miracle. Please, I need help. I have a pregnant mate that is in pain. I traveled through the war zone to get here just to seek help for her. I don't care what happens to me, but please save my mate."
The message was taken to Chief Alpha Kane to decide what to do. He immediately wanted to deny the request, but Misty pleaded for him to help. She said, "what if that was me? What if the beast healer went to the fox beasts instead of us?" Kane felt she was tugging at his heart. He groaned and said, "cover his eyes and have him healed first. Then we can come up with a plan. I don't want to put the beast healer in danger."
The foxbeast was blind folded and taken to a different location from where Doctor Anya practices. Foxes also had great tracking skills, if he was sent to spy, he would be able to find his way back to where he was healed. For additional protection, there was a dress of potent herbs that the wolfwomen crafted quickly for Doctor Anya to wear. This way he can't familiarize himself with her scent.
Doctor Anya was told the reasons for the extra precautions was so that she understood what was at stake. She then approached him and heard him whimper saying, "please, help my mate, she's in trouble." Anya felt her chest tighten and her eyes get watery. She could feel his despair and agony. There were no hidden lies or secret motives. It was just a beastman pleading for his mate's life. She wanted to heal him immediately, then go to his mate. She can sense his mate was in a lot of distress.
Anya places her hand on the foxbeast with tears in her eye feeling his emotional pain. How desperate was he, that he was willing to go this far? She asked herself. Then as she glowed and released her healing energy, she channeled his feelings of longing to be with his mate and her safety. A line of light immitted to the sky and connected to the mate of the foxman in front of her. The wolf beasts around her were surprised and didn't know how to respond. Then suddenly, Anya traveled and landed in front of the sick mate. She was almost out of energy and extremely malnourished. Anya felt so sad to see her in that condition. She placed her hands over her and healed her.
The foxwoman opened her eyes to see what it was that touched her. She saw a figure surrounded by light covered in leaves. She blinked to try and focus her eyes, but by the time she opened them again, the figure was gone. She didn't know how to explain it, but she felt better and energized. She touched her belly and she was able to get up. She looked for her mate to tell him her miracle, but he was nowhere to be found. Then she heard from a neighbor that he had stopped by to tell her to watch over her. He was going to follow the rumor that was circulating around the beast world.
