[Rank 19: Ancient King]
[Origin World: One Punch Man World]
[Description: A dinosaur king sleeping in the depths of great mountains. Possesses tremendous power, very thick skin, and can spew laser beams from its mouth. It is a survivor from the extinct ancient dinosaur race. Its nature is cruel and full of desire to destroy.]
[Growth Potential: 6 Stars]
[Domestication Value: 2 Stars]
[Gold List Reward: Dragon Source (As a dinosaur race, it only possesses very thin true dragon power. After swallowing Dragon Source, it can evolve. Ultimately, there is hope for it to transform into a True Dragon, obtaining extraordinary power to control clouds and rain; even meteors will no longer be a nightmare for it.)]
Inside the great mountains, a thunderous rumbling sound suddenly erupted. Large boulders fell, giant cracks appeared in the mountain body, and crackling sounds made anyone's hair stand on end. The entire mountain seemed to tear from the middle and split in two.
A giant figure as tall as a mountain slowly emerged. Each of its steps was accompanied by thunder-like booms, making surrounding mountains tremble and the ground crack.
The figure emerged from the mountain crevice and revealed its true form: a giant dinosaurus over a hundred meters tall, with rows of terrifyingly sharp saw-like teeth.
In the sky, golden light fell and was directly swallowed into its belly.
"Gahahaha... Dragon Source! Dragon Source!" Ancient King laughed heartily.
It didn't expect that after sleeping for years, it would immediately get such great benefits upon waking. It almost thought this was just a dream. However, the giant golden scroll in the sky told it this was real.
As it swallowed that light, its body began undergoing drastic changes. Small but hard blue-green scales began appearing on its skin surface, gleaming under the golden light reflection, radiating a cold metallic aura.
Horns began growing on its head, though they only grew halfway then stopped, making it look strange. At its nose tip also appeared two long whiskers waving in the air. On its back, its skin split open, and from there emerged a pair of bloody flesh wings—bones forced to grow, muscles and skin extending to cover the new organs.
The pain from this forced organ growth made Ancient King roar in agony. However, as the body changes stopped, that pain faded. Its appearance had now totally changed. It had transformed into a winged "Pseudo-Dragon" with its entire body covered in blue scales.
Though it had swallowed Dragon Source, with its talent, it could only evolve to this level. For further transformation, it had to rely on luck.
"My power... is tremendous!" Ancient King's voice was full of joy.
The wings on its back flapped lightly yet created a tremendous whirlwind.
"This is several times stronger than before! In this world, who else can stop me!"
It let out a roar that shook the horizon. However, it didn't realize that behind the clouds right above its head, a fighter jet was passing.
"Found traces of Ancient King. After receiving Gold List reward, its body underwent evolution. Power estimated to have multiplied, disaster level Dragon. Requesting backup!"
However, just as the radio sounded, the pilot's voice was interrupted. "Don't need backup. Creatures like this, leave it to us!"
A black-haired young man gripped his metal baseball bat. He stared at Ancient King below while licking his lips, his eyes showing enthusiasm. He was S-Class Hero, Metal Bat.
Beside him, a blonde man with three scars on his face sat upright. From his chest came loud booming sounds like drum beats. This was S-Class Hero, the strongest man on earth, King!
"This creature isn't simple. I feel for safety, better to request backup," King suggested after a moment of silence.
Metal Bat knew full well facing such a large creature alone was seeking death, but beside him sat King! This figure gave him unlimited confidence. Remember, King was someone who didn't flinch even slightly when facing Saitama.
Hear that drum sound? Very clearly this man was already very enthusiastic and impatient to fight. That was the King Engine! King's iconic battle prelude.
King's face was actually somewhat pale, but this wasn't the first time he experienced such a situation.
His expression remained rigidly unchanged, while his hand behind his back was holding a phone. His phone screen was lit, displaying a text message interface being typed:
However, before the message finished being typed, Metal Bat shouted: "King, what are you waiting for! Now's the time we act! We kill that creature, then we take the Dragon Source from its body—who knows we might also profit!"
Without time to speak, King felt his body forcibly pulled. He fell out of the open aircraft cabin door. The strong free-fall sensation made him dizzy—he even felt like urinating from fear.
He was angry. That bastard Metal Bat brought him jumping without approval!
"You all return to headquarters, wait for our victory news!" Metal Bat gave a thumbs-up victory sign to the fighter jet pilot in the air.
King almost vomited blood. Troublesome teammate!
Fortunately they had already worn parachutes beforehand—otherwise, they could already be declared dead right then.
After falling for some time, their parachutes opened. Their falling speed drastically reduced as they floated down.
Below, Ancient King was still immersed in the joy of its evolution, completely unaware that two "little insects" above it had already made it their hunt target.
King stared at that mountain-tall Ancient King with trembling legs.
Others didn't know, but he was very self-aware: he was just an ordinary human! Never mind Ancient King—even a Wolf-level monster he might not necessarily win against.
What's worse, King's falling direction was precisely toward Ancient King's head. King instantly panicked.
WTF?!
Already unlucky enough being forced to jump, now it got more tragic? This was called delivering oneself to the enemy's mouth! One could imagine, if Ancient King looked up and opened its mouth, King would become a free snack delivered directly into its mouth.
King tried hard to adjust his parachute direction to move away, but he had absolutely no parachute jumping experience. Rather than moving away, he instead floated straight precisely toward the top of Ancient King's head.
