Chapter 99:
Carlos's Point of View
I placed my hand on my cheek, which was still glowing with the heat of her slap, and said in an audible voice that filled the office:
"This girl cannot be mentally stable."
Robert's response came cutting like a blade:
"You are the unstable one here, Carlos."
I pulled the chair opposite him and threw myself into it, knitting my brows in disapproval:
"Really? And why is that?"
Robert fixed his cold gaze on me and replied in a commanding tone:
"You cannot kiss her."
My eyes did not leave Robert's face; there was something in his taut features, a suppressed irritation that he couldn't entirely hide behind his mask of coolness.
I leaned forward slightly and asked him cunningly:
"And why are you so upset?"
He averted his gaze from me toward the papers in front of him and replied dryly:
"I'm not."
I laughed sarcastically and shook my head:
"Yes, you are... you look as if I kissed you, not her."
