The next morning
" you sure you have everything," says a deep voice from the kitchen as I'm coming down the stairs. Looking over I see a huge man dressed in a karate gi and black bracers sitting at the table eating some breakfast that mom had made. I smile and nod heading into the kitchen grabbing my plate and thanking mom before sitting across the intimidating man.
" yes I've double checked and doubled down on necessities with my last allowance dad," I say as I start eating the delicious breakfast.
The man that I called dad was Bruno ketchum, my adoptive dad as he married mom shortly after I became friends with my Pokémon. It was a little scary until he stumbled across his words trying to ask mom out and they've been together since. He helped us even when we didn't ask for it, he didn't care for his image being ruined for the marriage as he'd rather marry my mom for love than publicity.
After the marriage people started trying to act nice to us but we already knew thier true colors and didn't trust them. Glad we didn't because soon after rumors and lies spread around like wildfire. Dad was angry at the people for saying stuff about us but before he could do something mom stopped it. The only friend we had that remained a true friend was professor oak. He actually accepted me into a position as a junior professor candidate over his own grandson. I get better and more in depth lessons taught to me but the trade out was becoming even more of an outcast. It's fine though at least I'll be more than a regular trainer.
"Good, at least you'll be better prepared than most," he says sadly, as I nod from first hand experience that Pokémon are beautiful and powerful creatures but also dangerous.
" I've been prepared dad, my Pokémon and I are ready and we will be cautious," I say as he nods and smiles. Mom finishes the dishes and comes sit down gently as she holds her pregnant belly. I smile as I see dad hug her gently and shows his soft side. After breakfast, helping with the final bit of chores I leave for professor oak's lab. As I get there Gary comes out in all his ego waving at the cheering crowd and hoping in his red convertible with his personal cheerleaders/harem. As he drives off i look at my Pokémon and say, " he's definitely overcompensating for something." My Pokémon snickers and chuckle at that joke before we go into the kitchen lab.
" professor we're here, " I shout out as some sounds could be heard from one room and something falls heavily. Going over to the room i see professor oak rubbing his back as he tries lifting a box.
" really professor," I say as I walk on over and grab the box and lift it up slightly struggling, " okay this is heavier than it looks."
" thanks halt I really should've gotten alakahzam to move it or dragonite but I need it right away," he says as he directs me to a table. As I place the box down he opens it and starts pulling out items. A large wooden box that i recognize as a crafting table that is displayed in museums, a pokedex that looks like a better model than most regional design, though not a rotom dex or phone, and several other things. As he remakes around the box a old poke ball rolls out and taps my feet. I look down and the thing opens up revealing several stones inside. Bending down I grab the marble sized stones and look at them.
" hey professor are these megastones I heard about through your research buddies," I ask rolling a prismatic white and pink marble that has a ribbon styled mega evolution symbol inside that is blue and pink in colors.
" huh it is honestly I didn't know about them since I could never open that poke ball," says professor oak as he rubs his chin," and since I'm giving these items to you they're your's to have."
" really, eighteen megastones," I say as I look at the eighteen marbles as sylveon grabs the first one I pulled out and chirps her name.
" ok you can keep that one," I say as I grab three wrapped presents i hand in my backpack. "Here you girls go, I was saving these for today," I say to them as they pull out some scarfs that matched their coloring. I help tie them on and place the megastone in sylveons scarf.
" I really wish this the students would've learned from you this year. The fact that you care for your Pokémon says a lot about you and my choice in giving you the chance for becoming a junior professor," says professor oak as he holds out the pokedex. " this is known as the omnidex, a pokedex that actually has the abilities of a phone, pokedex, x transceiver, pokewatch, and many other functions such as a high end laptop that has a holocaust keyboard and screen for your research notes," says professor oak as he hands over the wooden crafting table that also has a huge book. Placing the table into my backpack and look at the book seeing the old writings inside it but none were translated.
" you always asked about the older kingdoms and the history of the regions so I pulled some strings and got you these. The crafting table is a replica using more modern technology to emulate the older tools as some were harmful to us like lead. And the book is an actual copy from the original manuscripts that the galaxy corps used in ancient hisu. Sadly translations are unavailable as they're kinda expensive and they're guarded jealously by the museums of the regions," he explains before handing me ten regular pokeballs and a trainers license with a stamp proclaiming my status as a junior professor.
" As you already know about being a junior professor I'm sure you don't want to hear about it again but I have to tell you again as it's mandatory," says professor oak as he starts a small lecture.
" First is that you'll be required to submit a report on your field of study every two months just to keep the privilege. Second Is that you're allowed to have more than six Pokémon on your roster but you'll have to still abide by the rules and regulations of tournaments and other competitions. And last is a voucher every month to either 5 tms or a Pokémon from an official breeders organization, along with an allowance of ten thousand pokedollars a month. Food for Pokémon, equipment and other necessities are actually tax deductible with this privilege as well."
" yeah I know professor and my research topics ate broad enough that I could report eating habits of my Pokémon or who they interact with on the team more than others and it's still valid," I say as I lift my backpack again and clip it up. My Pokémon look at the professor as he pulls out another set of pokeballs and says," my colleagues and I have decided to give you a starter Pokémon but it's your choice."
He releases the pokeballs and three pokemon emerge from them. Fist is a rabbit like pokemon with cream colored fur and red striped markings kicking a pebble that throws sparks occasionally. It stops to look at me and the rock it kicked up hits its forehead but it doesn't pay attention to that.
The second is a blue otter like pokemon that has a small scallop shell on its belly. It looks at me and pulls up the scallop to hide it's face as it looks away from me.
The third pokemon is a green quadrapedal pokemon with a large green leaf on its head and bright red eyes. It looks at me and tackles me rubbing it's head into my chest queuing a massive dog pile from every pokemon in the room. I laugh at their playfulness and say to professor oak," no fair professor you're making me choose between the three I've worked with in the lab. You know we're all good friends."
Professor oak laughs and says," we know eveytime they got sent to a new lab they became moppy and wouldn't interact with other trainers. You've won them over so it's only fitting that you have them as your partner pokemon."
I pull out the pokedex and start the routine of scanning the Pokémon.

Description: it's body is constantly moving to provide substantial warmth and to spread it's firey energy into it paws occasionally throwing sparks on nearby objects.
Name: oshawatt
Title: the sea otter Pokémon
Description: oshawatt are known for thier communal nature and thier gift giving to other Pokémon. Though they're fiercely protective of thier scalchop they will exchange them for a few moments as a sign of trust.
Name: chikorita
Title: the big leaf Pokémon
Description: chikorita are known for thier large leaves and tightly curled buds which fall out occasionally when they dry up and are replaced. The fallen buds are a known medicinal plant that provides relaxation to over exhausted nerves and a calming tea for those with anxiety.
Name: zorua
Title : the illusion fox
Description : zorua are extremely timid pokemon who avoid confrontation by using thier illusions to mimic baby pokemon of more aggressive lines in thier home area. They're also a known prankster that will either use playful pranks on those they like while more annoying or harmful ones they don't like.
Name : fennekin
Title: the fire fox pokemon
Description: fennekin are known for their insatiable appetite towards their favorite twigs they snack on and rhier warm bodies. If a fennekin gets too hot it expells its excess energy through its ears rapidly cooling down while also heating the environment.
Name: sylveon
Title: the ribbon pokemon
Description: sylveon is the evolved form of eevee that was recently discovered in kalos. They have sweet dispositions that are shown by wrapping their ribbon like feelers around it's friends and sharing emotions through special empathic signals they release. They're also known to have deep standing grudges towards dragon type pokemon.
" well that's a start," I say as I recall all of them to thier pokeballs and says goodbye to professor oak. At the edge of pallet town i breathe in the fresh air and scream, " look out world the next pokemon master is about to start his journey believe it."
