Chapter 15 -  Chapter 14 The Hunting Moment

"The Spirit Ascension Platform is the culmination of thousands of years of technology from the Spirit Transmission Tower. It's practically another world inside." "

However, the Spirit Ascension Platform is essentially a semi-real, semi-virtual simulated world. The primary Spirit Ascension Platform in front of you is part of that virtual world."

The staff member explained to Lin Xuan, pausing before adding a warning.

"In the primary Spirit Ascension Platform, your physical body won't be threatened, but the pain of death will be felt simultaneously."

"Therefore, if you feel it exceeds your tolerance, immediately press the distress signal to avoid brain damage from the shock."

Lin Xuan nodded, and the staff member, reassured, pressed the button. A metal cabinet slid out from the wall.

"Just lie down!"the staff member said.

Following the instructions, Lin Xuan lay down in the cabinet. Cool, icy suction cups extended from all around, pressing against his body—a feeling reminiscent of an ultrasound scan in his past life.

"Ready to begin, don't be nervous."

After the staff member finished speaking, the metal cabinet returned to the wall, plunging Lin Xuan into darkness.

A tingling sensation spread throughout Lin Xuan's body, and his soul power seemed to surge involuntarily, as if stimulated. Then, a wave of drowsiness washed over him, and he fell into a deep sleep. He didn't know how much time had passed when Lin Xuan's eyelids twitched, and he raised his hand to shield his eyes from the bright light.

  "Am I in?"

When Lin Xuan opened his eyes, he found himself in a meadow, surrounded by towering trees tens of meters tall. From the depths of the forest, the roars of soul beasts echoed intermittently.

"Amazing! If I had this skill in my past life, playing games would have been incredibly fun."

Lin Xuan pinched his cheek; the texture was smooth and delicate, so incredibly realistic. Just standing there, he could even smell the faint fragrance of fresh grass emanating from the meadow.

If someone were masturbating here, would that be considered wishful thinking or masturbation?

Lin Xuan suddenly thought of a question.

"Ahem, this should be the distress signal device."

Lin Xuan shook his head, dismissing those random thoughts. He noticed a metal bracelet on the back of his hand with a bright red button on it.

  "Whoosh!"

Just as Lin Xuan was looking around, a white shadow suddenly attacked him from behind.

But Lin Xuan seemed to have eyes in the back of his head; just as the white shadow's attack was about to touch him, Lin Xuan simply twisted to the side, dodging the attack.

  "Swish!"

As soon as the white shadow landed, a sharp green grass leaf rose from the ground like a sword, stringing it together like a candied hawthorn.

Lin Xuan controlled the green grass leaf, bringing the attacking soul beast over.

It was a snow-white rabbit with its bright red eyes wide open, seemingly filled with confusion before its death.

  "Soft Bone Rabbit!"

Lin Xuan said, looking at the snow-white rabbit in front of him. Then, a beam of spiritual light rose from the Soft Bone Rabbit's corpse and entered his body.

"My soul spirit has increased by a year!"

Lin Xuan carefully sensed it; this Soft Bone Rabbit only had ten years of cultivation. He licked his lips, looked at the distant jungle, and a deep blue greatsword appeared in his hand.

"Now is the time to hunt!"

  "Meow~"

A black kitten was licking its paws on a branch. It had just had a hearty meal and was now enjoying its post-meal leisure time.

  How comfortable, meow!

The next second, a greatsword descended from the sky, cleaving the Dark Night Spirit Cat into a cat pancake. Then,a green leaf curled up the greatsword and returned it to Lin Xuan's hand, along with a faint spiritual energy.

"Damn it! Why are they all ten-year soul beasts?"

Lin Xuan was full of resentment. All along the way, he had encountered ten-year soul beasts, and it had taken him a long time to add less than ten years to his soul spirit's lifespan.

Thinking about how his group in the original story encountered hundred-year or thousand-year soul beasts all the time, Lin Xuan was speechless. This was the treatment of the protagonist.

  "Roar!"

Just as Lin Xuan was about to leave, a deafening roar suddenly came from several hundred meters away, the sound so loud it made his ears ache.

"Damn it! A thousand-year-old soul beast!"

Lin Xuan cursed inwardly. Speak of the devil, but why did he actually appear?! He turned and ran, flashing into the depths of the forest.

He really couldn't beat this thing one-on-one.

"Hey big oaf, over here! Come and chase me."

A boy of about ten years old flew in the sky, constantly taunting the giant lizard that was several meters long below.

A thousand-year-old unicorn lizard!

Lin Xuan, hiding in a tree in the distance, called out the name of the giant lizard.

The thousand-year-old unicorn lizard was enormous, and a single kick could shake the earth, but it could only stare helplessly at its target flying in the sky.

Seemingly knowing it was powerless, the thousand-year-old unicorn lizard stopped its movements and ceased its pursuit of the boy flying in the sky.

  "Don't stop!"

Seeing the thousand-year-old unicorn lizard stop, the boy in the sky quickly took out a stone from his pocket and threw it at the lizard.

The stone landed on the unicorn lizard's head, bouncing off its thick keratin layer. The damage was minimal, but the humiliation was immense.

  "Roar!"

The already easily angered unicorn lizard roared again and continued chasing the boy.

And so, the man and beast pursued each other, fleeing towards the distant valley.

Lin Xuan, watching the two figures disappear, seemed thoughtful, then leaped and quickly followed.

This person was intentionally luring the unicorn lizard towards the valley, clearly prepared, but his own strength was probably weak.

Lin Xuan might even be able to pick up a stray if he followed; as for offending someone? That was a joke.

At the peak of a mountain near the valley entrance, three men and a woman stood silently watching the approaching unicorn lizard. The man and woman at the front were the same brother and sister from before.

"Xu Xiaoyu! You promised, don't forget to help us hunt soul beasts later," a burly young man said to the cold-faced man in front.

"Don't worry! As long as you help me kill this unicorn lizard, I naturally won't go back on my word."

Xu Xiaoyu glanced at the burly boy indifferently, but inwardly he sneered.

Help? Help my ass! He'd rather use that time to help his sister's soul spirit level up for two more years.

He only saw that one of the three could fly and could be used; three level ten soul masters weren't worth his time.

"That's good! That's good! Xiaofeng, why don't you thank Brother Xu!"

Wang Jinxi scratched his head and smiledly, then patted the skinny boy beside him.

  "Thank you, Brother Xu!"

Wei Xiaofeng said shyly.

"Little sister, you've absorbed the spiritual power of this thousand-year-old unicorn lizard, you should be at your limit by now."

Ignoring the two, Xu Xiaoyu's cold face broke into a smile as he spoke gently to his sister, Xu Xiaoyan.

  "Thank you, brother!"

Xu Xiaoyan smiled sweetly, her two dimples quite adorable.

While the two siblings were talking, Wang Jinxi and his companion behind them exchanged a strange smile.

Dozens of meters away, in a thicket of bushes, Lin Xuan, with a bird's nest on his head, stared intently at the group    , especially Xu Xiaoyu, who was leading them.

  "What a small world!"
