Chapter 17 - Chapter 16 The Mantis Stalks the Cicada, Unaware of the Oriole Behind (Hungry, need votes~)

"However, there's more than one of these six!"

Lin Xuan's gaze drifted to the thousand-year-old unicorn lizard lying not far away.

After reaching the level of man and sword as one in swordsmanship, his perception of the outside world had become much more acute.

Something's wrong with this guy! It's too quiet! Even if it was severely injured by Ice Fury, the thousand-year-old unicorn lizard's breathing shouldn't be so calm.

A dying beast, seemingly on the verge of death, but upon closer inspection, one could discover that although its aura was weak, it still contained a certain rhythm.

How is this possible! It's about to die, yet it still has the leisure to control its breathing.

  Unless, it's playing dead!

"Being a Voldemort has no future, and I, Lin Xuan, hate the six the most in my life."

Looking at the thousand-year-old unicorn lizard burying its head and silently playing dead, Lin Xuan expressed his utter hatred for this behavior.

A thought struck Lin Xuan, and he manipulated the Green Leaf Sword Grass to burrow into the ground. Meanwhile, a small, green blade of grass sprouted from beneath the thousand-year-old unicorn lizard.

  On the other side…

"Have you thought it through? Of course, if Young Master Xu is really too angry, you can kill all four of us!"

"It's much easier to just end it all."

Zhang Yangzi said confidently.

Looking at Xu Xiaoyan on the ground, Xu Xiaoyu's expression changed several times, but he finally sighed.

Between his pride and his sister, he chose his sister.

  "Hmm! Not good!"

Xu Xiaoyu was about to speak when his expression changed, and he turned sharply.

The thousand-year-old unicorn lizard, which should have been lying there dying, suddenly sprang up as if injected with drugs, its beastly face contorted as it let out low growls.

  "This guy is playing dead!"

Xu Xiaoyu's face darkened, his mood extremely displeased.

"Damn it! Today is truly a disgrace! Being tricked by three little brats is bad enough, but even a spirit beast like you got tricked!"

  Zhang Yangzi cursed.

Who would have thought a beast would play dead? Now, it seems the three of them jumped in too early!

The Thousand-Year-Old Unicorn Lizard's eyes were bloodshot as it frantically scanned its surroundings, trying to find the culprit who had stabbed it in the backside.

"Xu Xiaoyu, let's take care of it together first,"

Zhang Yangzi said to Xu Xiaoyu, his smile returning.

  "Dream on!"

Xu Xiaoyu glanced at the three and sneered.

Ignoring Zhang Yangzi, she lightly leaped dozens of meters to the right, giving way to the Thousand-Year-Old Unicorn Lizard.

Originally, the Thousand-Year-Old Unicorn Lizard was facing Xu Xiaoyu, but now, with this change, it was Zhang Yangzi and his companions facing off, and Xu Xiaoyu had regained the initiative.

The Thousand-Year-Old Unicorn Lizard, Xu Xiaoyu, and Zhang Yangzi formed a triangle.

If the Thousand-Year-Old Unicorn Lizard attacked Xu Xiaoyu, he could easily retreat. If it attacked Zhang Yangzi and the other two, he could take advantage of the chaos to rescue Xu Xiaoyan.

"Yangzi, what should we do? Should we just run!"

Wei Zifeng swallowed hard. The three of them didn't have the strength to face a thousand-year-old soul beast directly. Besides, Xu Xiaoyu was watching them!

  "This..."

Zhang Yangzi frowned. They couldn't leave or retreat!

While they were struggling, in a corner that no one paid attention to, a green blade of grass quietly appeared and climbed up Xu Xiaoyan's waist.

  "Ah!"

Xu Xiaoyan was watching the show from the sidelines when suddenly a huge force struck her waist, and she was sent flying forward in a daze.

Drawing a graceful arc in the air, Xu Xiaoyan landed on the ground, rolled a few times, and finally stopped right in front of the Thousand-Year-Old Unicorn Lizard.

  The force was just right!

  "Ouch! That hurts so much!"

Xu Xiaoyan gasped. The sharp stones on the ground were painfully embedded in her skin, yet she landed face-first.

Bound by vines, she could only slowly roll herself over using her shoulders, revealing two enormous eyes, larger than her head.

  "What a coincidence!"

Looking at the thousand-year-old unicorn lizard so close, Xu Xiaoyan's lips twitched, and tears streamed down her face.

Heaven have mercy! She, Xu Xiaoyan, only wanted to be a mere accessory, how did she end up being tossed around like this?

  "???"

The thousand-year-old unicorn lizard tilted its head, wondering how this could be so readily offered.

It didn't care about anything else, opening its blood-red maw and lunging at Xu Xiaoyan.

  "Bastards!"

 Xu Xiaoyu cursed angrily.

He never expected these three to be so beastly, throwing Xu Xiaoyan right in front of the unicorn lizard's mouth to force him to act.

Xu Xiaoyu waved his staff, and a pale blue ice wheel condensed in front of him, hurtling towards the thousand-year-old unicorn lizard.

  "Run!"

Zhang Yangzi spread his wings and pulled Wang Jinxi and the other man towards the left slope of the valley.

  "Phew! We're safe now."

The three landed in the bushes on the left side of the valley and breathed a sigh of relief.

Lin Xuan glanced at the three men from the bushes behind them. They could go anywhere, but this place was right in front of him.

Just now, Lin Xuan was thinking of finding an opportunity to deal with the three brothers.

These brothers knew how to pick a spot.

Looking at the beautiful scenery around them, Lin Xuan thought it was perfect for them to lie down.

While the three were still rejoicing at escaping, Lin Xuan had already secretly raised his greatsword behind him.

"Well done! Jinxi, that was a brilliant move!"

"Now we just need to sit here and watch them fight. If they both get injured, we can reap the benefits."

Looking at Xu Xiaoyu below, who was fighting the thousand-year-old unicorn lizard again, Zhang Yangzi patted Wang Jinxi on the shoulder and praised him.

"Hehe! Yangzi, I'm not as smart as you say, and I didn't throw Xu Xiaoyan out either."

Wang Jinxi scratched his head, a little embarrassed.

"You're starting to be modest now. If you didn't throw Xu Xiaoyan out, did a ghost throw her?"

Zhang Yangzi laughed and punched Wang Jinxi's chest. His little brother was playing games with him.

Wang Jinxi shook his head again, bewildered.

  "Really not you?"

Zhang Yangzi frowned, seeing that Wang Jinxi's expression didn't seem fake, and asked again.

"Really not me! Could there be someone else nearby…?"

Wang Jinxi realized what was going on and was about to say something when a sword shadow descended from the sky, the force of the wind stinging his face.

Zhang Yangzi was cleaved in two, blood splattering everywhere, dying a rather dashing death.

Wang Jinxi wiped the blood from his face, turned around blankly, and saw a strange young man standing behind him.

"Are you going to leave on your own, or shall I see you off?"

Lin Xuan gave a friendly smile, holding his sword to Wang Jinxi's neck, the sharp blade leaving a bloody gash.
