Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Try and Die

"Die! Kid, I'm a noble Soul Master!"

Yellow Hair grinned savagely, his face full of arrogance.

Since being beaten up last time, he had been diligently cultivating for the past six months, and unexpectedly, he had turned misfortune into blessing, breaking through to level ten in one fell swoop.

In recent days, Yellow Hair had also conquered two more city blocks, living a very carefree life.

However, the lesson he learned half a year ago was too painful, and his image in the eyes of his underlings had been greatly diminished.

He wanted revenge every moment; the boss couldn't lose, and if he couldn't get revenge, it would be difficult to lead the team in the future.

Fortunately, he finally found an opportunity to corner this little girl in this deserted alley.

  "Idiot!"

Lin Xuan sneered as he watched Yellow Hair charge straight at him.

With a wave of his hand, two green leaves sprouted from the ground and firmly bound Yellow Hair's rapidly running legs.

  "Bang!"

The blond-haired man's charge was too fierce; the green grass snapped in an instant, but Lin Xuan's goal had been achieved.

After this obstruction, the blond-haired man's ferocious steps halted, but his body continued its forward momentum. Losing his balance, he flew forward.

  "Go back!"

Lin Xuan leaped up, delivering a spinning kick to the blond-haired man's face, sending him flying back.

Lin Xuan hadn't been idle for the past six months; his basic swordsmanship had reached the eighth level, and his daily practice had significantly improved his physical abilities.

In terms of basic swordsmanship, calling him a master was no exaggeration; he could even vaguely sense an even higher level.

  "Bang! Bang bang!"

The blond-haired man rolled several times on the ground, finally stopping after crashing into a telephone pole.

  "Pah! Kid, you're dead."

The blond-haired man got up, spitting out a mouthful of blood. He looked at Lin Xuan, his eyes filled with resentment.

  "Na'er, hold me tight!"

Lin Xuan said to Na'er in his arms.

  "Mmm!"

Na'er nodded obediently, her hands tightly wrapped around Lin Xuan's neck.

Lin Yi supported Na'er with one hand, and stretched out the other, while a white soul ring rose behind him.

"What! How could you be a Soul Master!"

the blond-haired man said unwillingly. He had cultivated diligently for more than ten years, how could a mere brat achieve this so easily?

"Go! All of you, go! We outnumber you, don't be afraid! Kill him together!"the blond-haired man shouted, and the surrounding thugs swarmed forward.

  "Looking for death!"

A ruthless glint flashed in Lin Xuan's eyes. He clenched his fist, and instantly countless Green Leaf Sword Grasses spread out from all directions of the alley, like spider silk, turning into a net that enveloped the group.

When Lin Xuan stopped, the alley was already covered with Green Leaf Sword Grasses.

Everywhere, on the ground and in the air, they were densely packed, like being in a primeval forest, the thick grass even blocking out the sunlight.

The thugs were pinned to a meter away from Lin Xuan, unable to move, their joints pierced by sharp blades of the green leaf sword grass, drops of blood trickling down the grass and into the ground.

  "Hmph!"

Lin Xuan snorted coldly, retracting the green leaf sword grass, and the men collapsed limply to the ground.

The blond-haired man behind them escaped unscathed, but witnessed the horrific scene. He was now paralyzed with fear, his crotch soaked, muttering incoherently.

Lin Xuan waved his hand again, sending several more green leaf sword grass blades flying, pinning the already delirious blond-haired man to the wall.

Then Lin Xuan stabbed each of them several times, confirming they were all dead, before carrying Na'er away.

His first killing left Lin Xuan feeling nothing; whether it was his nature or because he had fully integrated into a world where human life was as worthless as grass, he didn't know. "

Brother, are you alright? You look a little pale."

Back on the bustling street, Na'er finally looked up, touching Lin Xuan's slightly pale face with concern.

"I'm fine! It's just that my mental energy was a bit overexerted."

  Lin Xuan shook his head.

Controlling so many Green Leaf Sword Grasses in such a short time was a bit much even for his high-level Spirit Origin Realm mental energy, and he had also consumed most of his soul power.

"Was that your soul skill just now, brother? It was so amazing!"

Na'er looked at Lin Xuan with admiration, her eyes sparkling.

Lin Xuan's heroic figure, defeating enemies effortlessly without even getting a single leaf on him, was firmly imprinted in her mind—he was simply incredibly cool!

"That's right! No one can hurt Na'er anymore."

Lin Xuan pinched Na'er's little nose, but then his expression changed, and he said seriously.

"But before that, Na'er, can you explain why you came here?"

"Hehe! Well! Brother, Na'er knows she was wrong. Please forgive Na'er, okay?"

Na'er blinked her big eyes, looking pitiful, as if she was about to burst into tears.

"You! You just know how to be a rascal, don't do it again!"

Lin Xuan helplessly reached out and pinched Na'er's chubby little face, but in the end, he couldn't bring himself to punish her.

  "Brother is the best!"

Na'er excitedly leaned in and gave Lin Xuan a good slap on the face.

  "Ew! It's all saliva."

Lin Xuan said disgustedly.

  "No, Na'er's saliva smells good."

Na'er pouted and punched Lin Xuan's chest with her pink fists in embarrassment and anger.

"Let's go home first! It's time for lunch."

Lin Xuan looked at the sky; it was almost noon.

"No! I haven't been to Uncle Mang's place yet."

Na'er jumped off Lin Xuan's arms and pulled him to walk in the other direction.

"The world is vast, but picking up trash is the most important thing. My brother always said we should never forget our roots.

  " ..."

Mangtian Forging Room.

  "Bang! Bang bang!"

Tang Wulin swung his metal hammer, and under his continuous hammering, black impurities fell around the forging table.

  "Phew!"

When the last hammer fell, Tang Wulin let out a deep breath and wiped the sweat rolling down his forehead.

Although the metal on the table had shrunk a little, it was now a uniform color.

"Although there are still some flaws, it can be considered a hundred-forging completion."

  "Not bad!"

Mangtian looked at Tang Wulin's expressionless face, but inwardly he was overjoyed.

In just half a year, Tang Wulin had completed a hundred forgings, which meant that he had truly stepped into the door of a blacksmith.

"Teacher, you flatter me! I only barely succeeded. I can't guarantee next time."

Tang Wulin waved his hand. This time, luck did play a part. Of course, the main reason was that his soul power was too low, and he couldn't support the forging power with physical strength alone.

"Wu Lin, don't be so modest. Back when I was learning from my master, it took me three years to even get the basics down."

"Sometimes it's good to learn from that brat Lin Xuan; he can make anything sound amazing."

Brother Long chuckled and patted Tang Wu Lin on the shoulder. This junior brother was good at everything, except for his lack of confidence.

"Hey! Brother Long, I'm right here."

Lin Xuan, who was squatting to the side eating, looked up and glared at Brother Long, saying defiantly.

"What do you mean by bragging? What haven't I done? I'm the most down-to-earth."

"That's right! Brother is the best."

Na'er chimed in from the side.

The two siblings had come to Mang Tian's place and happened to run into them having lunch, so they took the opportunity to eat some.

"Hey~ wait a minute, you actually are."

Brother Long was about to retort, but upon reflection, Lin Xuan did seem to have a very organized and logical way of thinking from childhood to adulthood.

Mang Tian glanced at Lin Xuan, his expression shifting.

Lin Xuan was someone he'd watched grow up. Back when he was just a little kid, he'd sneak over to his forging scrap metal to sell.

He'd seen the boy's character firsthand; though sometimes mischievous, he had a good personality and learned everything quickly.

"Lin boy, why don't you try learning forging?"

  Mang Tian suggested.

Tang Wulin's appearance had given him a taste of the benefits of taking on apprentices. He'd already reached the level of a sixth-grade forging master, and taking on apprentices was a way to fulfill his wish.

  "Learn forging!"

Lin Xuan blinked thoughtfully.

It seemed like a good idea!

In this era of advanced soul-guided technology, learning a second profession was quite necessary, and it was also an important source of income.

So, a moment later, after carefully listening to Mang Tian's instructions, Lin Xuan confidently picked up his small hammer and started hammer.

Half an hour later

  , "Clang!"

The forging hammer fell weakly, and Lin Xuan lay on the ground, exhausted like a dog, panting heavily.

"Brother's so stupid, all he does is show off!"

Na'er squatted down beside him, flicking a strand of her hair at Lin Xuan's nose, and said gleefully.

Lin Xuan rolled his eyes. That's not what she was saying just now, but he was too tired to talk.

Sure enough, not everyone is born with superhuman strength like Tang Wulin; his little body was a bit too fragile.

"Lin boy, if you really want to learn forging, you still need to work on your physique,"

  Mang Tian sighed inwardly.

He had somewhat anticipated this outcome. After all, he couldn't possibly encounter two forging prodigies like Tang Wulin at once, could he?

It wasn't just a matter of physical strength; Lin Xuan's performance this time was only slightly better than the average person, far from being a forging genius, let alone possessing the divine talent of Tang Wulin.

"Hehe! Lin Xuan, you were just bragging, weren't you?"

Brother Long chuckled. Someone had just been talking big. Anyone who didn't know better would think the god of forging had descended to earth.

"Actually... I think Brother Xuan is alright, isn't he?"

Tang Wulin said weakly from the side.

Although the metal block on the platform was crooked and far from meeting the threshold of a hundred forgings, some impurities had indeed been removed.

And Brother Xuan was already a Soul Master.

A strange light flashed in Tang Wulin's eyes. The Soul Ring that Lin Xuan had unintentionally revealed during forging had shocked him. He was only at level four.

But Brother Xuan wasn't good at everything.

Tang Wulin glanced at Lin Xuan, who was lying on the ground, and felt a little happy. At least he was better than Brother Xuan in forging.

  Hmph! Vulgar!

Lin Xuan was unmoved by the others' jeers.

[Forging: Beginner (1/100)]

He glanced at the new line of text on the system panel and even wanted to laugh.

Ignorant people, accept the baptism of a transmigrator!

But physical training should definitely be put on the agenda. It's just a matter of what kind of training to choose. Should he just do the third set of radio calisthenics?

Lin Xuan lay on the ground, his thoughts drifting into the distance.
