Chapter 12 - Chapter 012 : Birthday Party - Part Four.

The sky had begun to glint with the dawning sun slowly drifting out of sight, as the group returned to the main premises. Laughter emanated through the hallways as light banter occurred in the background.

Entering the cafeteria, lunch time had turned into Dinner, with a large birthday cake enough to feed everyone two slices at least. A set menu designed for several different cultures was laid out at each seat in order to ensure every person would be able to choose for themselves.

Congregating into a large group, similar to before they sat in similar seating patterns, reminiscent of the generations they were a part of, or grew around with. Two letters were placed on the tableside Kincsem sat on, waiting to be opened. With everyone picking their meals or preoccupied with other tasks, she stared at the two letters.

With no identifying marks, it only leads to further confusion and interest in its contents. As she set it aside. She was planning to open it later anyways. Maybe in front of everyone, maybe not. Still conflicted, she set deep thought into what it had.

Yet after minutes of pondering, she snapped out of her mind as she returned to the cafeteria. Some time had begun to pass, with discussions still rampant, food had begun to be served. A mix of aroma's wafting in the air as some could not sit still any longer.

Hopefully, there was enough food to satisfy all of the guests today. However, that was the catering company's issue, not their own. With drool running from Oguri's mouth, she instantly gulped the entire plate down, eyeing the next plate over. "...Hey! I don't want you to eat my food!" As Tokai Teio shouted, before shoving down the bowl's contents into her mouth.

If Oguri Cap hadn't restrained herself, maybe she would've eaten the entire table's food. But she wasn't a grey monster.. Not anymore. With TM Opera O chuckling whilst talking with Kincsem. "Aha ha! Cousin! Why not talk about your home whilst we dig in? After all, isn't that what we are eating now from there?"

With Chicken Paprikash and Pörkölt on their respective plates, she began to talk about her home town in Hungary. "Well.. I guess I have never told you about it." As the pair discussed her family standing and other topics.

Yet other tables spoke of their current life, with others more attendant in each other's words. "That race took everything out of me!" Special Week began to slump down in her chair, staring across to her best friend and roommate. "Suzuka-san, how do you have such monstrous stamina..? I could barely even last the entire twelve hundred metres.."

As Stego chimed in "Oh hoho!~ I had lots of fun today, especially when able to unwind in the race." Yet a distraught Special Week turned to Stay Gold. "...You almost ran into me.. SEVERAL TIMES!" As she reminded herself to the horrors that ensued on the track.

To her, it was a terrorist that had tried to murder her in public. Shuddering in her seat as a Lucha-Libre inspired Uma Musume sat on the same table as the others, slightly chuckling to herself in sight of her rival's fear. Cracking her knuckles before proudly raising her chest. "Don't worry! Torena-san will help refine you into a strong racer!"

With the desserts beginning to be rolled out, it was now time for Kincsem to cut the birthday cake. It was ornate in design and aesthetically beautiful. As in unison people had begun to sing her a happy birthday, before she cut the cake with its first slice.

Soon enough, the cake was divided into several dozen slices, each enough to probably satisfy everyone's sugar tooth, as Kincsem finally took hold of the letters. Unravelling its contents for everyone to see.

Addressed to herself, it was written by what seemed to be Japan's Tracen Academy, with TM Opera O leaning over to take a peek, the moment she saw what it said, she laughed proudly before slapping her back. "As expected, Cousin! To receive a scholarship to Tracen is unsurprising of you!"

As her chuckles echoed through the room, her voice disrupted the light chatter as her statement drowned out the background sound. Several heads turned in surprise, as they began to clap with astounded expressions. "Congrats!" With their cheers resonating. If they could, they would've thrown her into the air to celebrate.

However, before the cheering could dim down, Kincsem began to take hold of the other letter. Presuming that this one was rather what her father meant, as she sighed before opening it.

A similar letter was on full display, yet it was not addressed from Tracen's Japan Branch. It had instead been written by the British training centre. A highly prestigious branch that had existed for hundreds of years, and the first one of its kind specifically created for Uma Musume.

Yet with two letters, both wanting her to join, she was in conflict. To join Japan's branch or Britain's was one that she'd rather decide later than now, as she began to chat with the other people surrounding herself.
