Chapter 11 - Chapter 011 : Birthday Party - Part Three.

The race began, as the group lurched from the starting line. Yet due to the track having more racers than it could hold, a lot of tussling occurred between the middle of the pack, as a few of the front runners began to drift apart.

Twin turbo, along with others such as Silence Suzuka, began to try to break away, in order to create such a lead that overpowers the others. Yet with poor stamina to endure the full distance, some began to drop out. With Twin turbo's breath becoming more ragged.

"Damn it! My turbo engines are failing!" As she tried to gaze ahead, her legs began to drift slower, as she had practically used up her energy stores, yet with the distance lead made so far, she continued to jog forward, her body groaning in pain as the rest of the pack began to catch back up.

However, due to overcrowding, the rowdy terrorist had possibly begun to act up slightly, her movements becoming jagged as she veered around slightly, enjoying the race from her own perspective, with the more experienced veterans concentrating on victory.

"Hahaha! How deplorable this one is! Yet I admire her ambition. Thus I, TM Opera O, shall approve of her disgraceful actions." As her pride began to flicker on. Her movements befitting one of grace, as she surveyed the competition.

Even if the race was one dedicated to being a simple practice run, and celebratory, their competitive nature did not allow for one's ability to decline. With the track winding, a gap between the experienced and talented and rookies opened. Becoming Incremental, yet detrimental.

However, not all of the racers were in it to win. With Haru Urara running at the back, joy was written across her face as she stared in glee at such an experience. Having done many races, even if she never won, every single one sparked her jolly nature, as she nodded along to her own tune.

As the group began to charge ahead, the track began to twist into the final turn, as both the pace chasers and late surgers alike had become more serious, plotting the time to begin their final push, the air becoming tense amongst themselves.

The desire to win is what was fuelling their bodies. Even if their careers were over, the thrill that came with winning a race was still present. That being inside them had always been around, and will always be present. It was why they had even decided to agree on such an idea. Greed.

Greed and Ego, as they began to deploy their own tactics, with a dozen or so beginning to surge ahead of the other less proficient Uma Musume. Tokai Teio, along with Oguri Cap were some of the strongest, even with degrading bodies, stood amongst the best in the group.

Their shoes pounding the turf surface as their movement resounded a symphony of gallops, each in their own melody. With Kincsem admiring the view, yet was analysing every part of how their bodies functioned, absorbing their skills like a sponge. Truly, this was one of the best gifts she had been given as a birthday gift.

With the final stretch upon them, a small group had formed, head to head as they lurched forward in order to try and finish first. With the finish line nearing, nobody had begun to peel away from them, as it would now rely on who would cross the line first, whether it be their head or legs.

Yet nobody finished ahead of each other. As a comedic photo finish with several figures occurred, seven Uma Musume finished at the same time. Their bodies slowed down with the rest of the racers beginning to finish. Haru Urara and Twin Turbo finished last amongst the thirty competitors.

Sweat trickled down as they looked around, somewhat in thrill and acknowledgment of one another's skills, but also at the sheer amount of enjoyment felt from doing such a competitive race.

Kincsem walked up, satisfied at the conclusion of the race, yet it was slightly bitter sweet that there was no definitive winner. However, wasn't that the best ending? After all, nobody felt bummed out. Instead, the mood felt more serene.

Haru Urara began to speak aloud, being the first one to break the mutual silence, as she chuckled to herself. "This was so much fun! We should do this during every event!~" As TM Opera O shrugged it off, yet internally also had found herself to be content with the outcome.

Even if she had lost today, she vowed to become the conqueror of the track, in order to not lose amongst her fellow classmates again. With Oguri Cap staring into the distance, with the only thing to do now being to eat. Maybe trying some of what was to come later. But food was food, and she liked eating all types of it.

As the lot of them began to steady their breathing, with their legs relaxing after running for over a kilometre, they began to casually discuss again, as Kincsem began to recall the events that conspired.

Perhaps if she were to integrate such styles shown, she could become an all rounder. Yet it was hard to implement, as one would need both the skills and body to fully use that idea, as she left it to the side. She would have to let her body develop first, and then afterwards, she would find what was best suited.

Yet what compelled her the most was the idea of front running. To establish such dominance and maintain it throughout, it could allow her to become someone alike to her real counterpart. Yet only time could tell, as she left to talk to her new friends.

It felt somewhat.. Weird, as to know that all the people before her were originally derived from horses from a previous world, but considering she herself was now one, it seemed like the least of her issues. Especially not with whatever the true version of herself had mentioned.

With time now passing, it soon neared dinner. With them returning back to the main area, perhaps soon it'd be the best time to check the letters.
