chapter 12
Arisu looked at Jian for the last time, trying to say sorry. Jian understood and gave him a weak smile before he left.
"So much time wasted," Jimmen said, not knowing how much hatred Jian had for him.
"Now tell me, whose idea was it to sneak away an hour before when I clearly told you I would come pick you up?"Jinman asked seriously.
"How did he know about our plans? Is he a vampire? No, that can't be. What do I do now? Oh no, I can't say Ari's name; he will surely kill him. Neither can I say my name. I don't want to die! My time isn't up yet.Lord Suviran, why me?" Jian kept asking herself, not knowing what to do.
"Speak up, Jian! I am waiting. I made it very clear what I do to people who lie and ignore me. Tell me, whose idea was it?" he asked again.
"I... it was no one's idea, sir. I... I was hun-hu-hungry, so I left early. I mean,we tried to..." she said, feeling like crap.
A smile came upon Jinman's face. He knew whose idea it was; it was Arisu's. But he wanted to listen to what she was saying. He knew she would say her name just to protect her friend, and his plan was to make her kiss him as a punishment for lying.
"Okay! So, I guess we will have to go to a restaurant now," he suggested, looking intently at her.
"What! No way. Good golly, I threw myself into his trap," she thought.
"But... but i eat home, sir?" she said, which came like a question.
"So, are you gonna feed me at your house, 'cos I am really hungry, too?" He joked, wishing she would say yes. He was in a hurry to meet her family.
"What! At my home? Over my dead body! So you can go harm my family, never!" she retorted.
She didn't say anything but shook her head to deny his request.
"Then the only option is the restaurant," he stated. With that, he went towards the other side of the car and opened the front seat for her.
"Come in!" he ordered with a smile.
But Jian was frozen in her feet. The thought of him pulling her into a private place freaked her out.
"Come on in, love! We don't have all day," he said.
"It's getting late, sir. Can't we... I mean ,I ,go home?" she suggested.
"No! We will go home after we eat. So, you better hurry up, because that's the only way you can get home early," he said.
"And what did I tell you about calling me?" he asked with his usual fake threat.
Her eyes widened in realization. "Sorry," she mumbled. "No, I didn't mean to."
"I forgot it,Love, come on now" he replied softly. He said when he realized he was doing nothing to ease her up. "Please," he almost begged.
Slowly she made her way towards the car, but he purposely touched her back and gestured for her to get in. A shiver chased down her spine. She sat down quietly, wondering why she felt like that. He fastened the belt for her again, treating her like a child. She noticed how steadily he was fastening the thing. She now hated the most in the world: seatbelt.
Unintentionally, her gaze lifted to meet his, and she realized that he was looking at her.
"He's a psycho for sure, and one can convince me," she thought, under her breath.
He closed the door with a smile and stretched his side but didn't enter as expected. Instead, he removed his phone and dialed Pasin's number.
Pasin picked up the call.
"Yes?" Pasin asked. They avoided speaking their names over on the phone to ensure privacy and safety.
"Get me a private table in Cloud Nine, now!" Jinman ordered.
Jian couldn't hear a word, as the door was closed, but she curiously wanted to hear what was going on. "Why would he waste so much time and effort to get me a dead plot'?" she thought.
"Now?" Pasin asked. "Cloud nine was one of the best restaurants in Kalynda Capital, and getting a reservation there at such a short time was not going to be easy."
"Any problem?" Jinman asked curtly, not liking the fact that Pessin was questioning him.
"No problem, boss! I will get it,"Pasin asked, sensing Jinman's anger,
"I will reach there in twenty minutes, make sure we get the most private area, okay?Jinman said
"Okay, boss. Anything else?" he asked.
"No," He said and hung up.
A smile touched his lips when he thought about having dinner with his date. He hardly remember the last time he had dinner with anyone. He opened the car door and got in,whiles flashing her a small smile."Sorry,it was an important work,"he said wondering why he was explaining himself
Jian said nothing but shook her head softly. Some minutes passed, and no one spoke. She was too scared to do so, and Jinan was planning the perfect dinner in his mind.
