Titus Shaw said, "You two go ahead."
Cecilia Adler glanced at him and left with Ian Quincy.
As they descended the mountain and passed the crossroad, they ran into Charlotte Dalton. She was carrying a basket, likely heading into the mountains to pick wild fruits. Since the two had already had a falling out, Charlotte no longer bothered to pretend. She walked straight past Cecilia and continued inward. Cecilia inwardly cursed her for being a terrible person.
Charlotte walked up the mountain and spotted Titus Shaw. He had his head lowered, standing with his back to her in front of a grave.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Charlotte asked, finding his back unfamiliar and not daring to approach recklessly. "Are you the uncle of Cecilia's partner?" Yesterday, she had heard from the villagers that the uncle of Cecilia's partner had come along with them.
Titus didn't respond and moved toward higher ground.
