"Accompanying your partner to register? Planning to stay here to study with him?"
"My partner is a local," Cecilia Adler replied. "He goes home at night, so I don't need to stay with him. Where are you all from?"
Cecilia learned from their replies that, apart from Sharon Lockwood, the other classmates came from all over the country and only went back to their hometowns once a year during the summer holidays.
"How did you manage to marry a local? From what I know, locals rarely accept brides from out of town unless they're settling for less. For instance, for college students like us to marry into a Valoria family, we'd have to marry someone with a lower educational background."
"Isn't it obvious? It's because she's pretty," the same roommate scoffed. "Is your partner really ugly?"
