Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: The Young People Summoned to Party Are to Be Sacrificed to the Thing in the Well!

Young Master Liu stood before Chu He, an inexplicable nervousness welling up inside him.

Chu He's deep eyes were like a bottomless abyss where a terrifying power lay dormant, enough to send a chill down one's spine.

Young Master Liu didn't dare to meet his gaze.

The young man before him was not as simple as he had imagined.

The girl's name in the notebook he held was particularly jarring.

She was certainly valuable, but after briefly weighing the pros and cons, Young Master Liu still chose to back down.

The girl might come with more trouble than he could handle.

So he chose to concede, even though he was reluctant to do so.

However, no one else present was aware of his calculations and considerations.

All they saw was Young Master Liu, a man who could call the shots in Jinwan City, actually backing down before an unfamiliar young man.

This left them utterly shocked, and they cast curious, probing glances his way.

Chu He spoke calmly, "It's too late.

My sister and family are in Jinwan City. I can't allow someone like you to be here.

So, I suggest you have your backer step forward. If you do, I can give you a quick death."

This young man was so audacious—he actually dared to threaten Young Master Liu's life!

Young Master Liu's expression flickered, but he quickly regained his composure. He continued trying to dispel Chu He's misunderstanding and hostility. "Sir, must you insist on a fight to the death between us?

I've already conceded. I will have absolutely nothing to do with you or your family.

I will make the necessary arrangements to ensure it."

Chu He was not swayed by his explanation. "The moment you chose to collude with an Evil Spirit, you started down a path of no return.

You should have been prepared for this back then.

If I hadn't arrived early today and found my sister, I fear she would have suffered greatly at your hands."

The words struck Young Master Liu like a sledgehammer.

An inexplicable chill crept up from the depths of his heart, as if Chu He had seen through all his secrets.

The young people nearby were also stunned by Chu He's powerful presence.

They huddled together, whispering amongst themselves about this mysterious and powerful young man.

They began to speculate about his identity and origins.

'Is he some kind of big shot from another part of the Great Xia Empire?'

Huang Mao sat off to the side, secretly sighing in relief.

He was relieved he hadn't escalated the conflict with Chu He earlier, otherwise the consequences would have been unthinkable.

He felt an unprecedented sense of fear and awe. This young man was not someone he could ever afford to provoke.

He silently stubbed out his cigarette and huddled in the corner of the booth, trying to avoid notice.

'Colluding with an Evil Spirit?'

Liu Yuzhu's expression grew increasingly grim, an inexplicable fear even rising in her heart.

'I originally thought it was just an Evil Spirit causing trouble at a nightclub. I never imagined it was actually a human colluding with an Evil Spirit. This completely shatters my worldview.'

'An act like this is unheard of in the Great Xia Empire. It's a grave threat to the safety of all humanity!'

Evil Spirits were the common enemy of all mankind, mercilessly claiming countless lives every year.

For a human to now collude with one was nothing short of a major scandal for the Great Xia Empire.

"Are you sure?"

Young Master Liu's expression also turned serious. A tempest raged beneath his calm exterior.

'The source of the power within me... it's real Evil Spirit Power. It's what gives me strength comparable to a Martial Artist.'

'I can even hold my own against Fifth and Sixth Grade Martial Artists, and sometimes even kill them.'

'And against a Seventh Grade Martial Artist, I can escape unscathed.'

Yet now, in front of Chu He, this power had fallen dormant, as if it had encountered a natural predator or a being so superior it was completely outmatched.

The Evil Spirit Power within Young Master Liu wasn't some bizarre byproduct; it was a real Evil Spirit, one with its own Life Force.

But Evil Spirits don't have human emotions—not love, not hate, not fear, nothing.

Therefore, when this power fell dormant in Chu He's presence, Young Master Liu was filled with shock and terror.

He had never witnessed such a bizarre phenomenon and certainly didn't dare to confront Chu He head-on.

Chu He's relentless pressure was unlike anything Young Master Liu had ever felt.

Just by standing there, without even a single move being made, he already felt as if he had been completely neutralized.

'I've never been in a situation like this before!'

'Why would such a powerful figure appear in a tiny place like Jinwan Town?'

A faint smile touched the corners of Chu He's lips.

He raised a long, slender index finger, pointing it gently toward the ceiling of Starlight Entertainment.

An invisible ripple of Elemental Power spread out, as gentle as a spring breeze, yet carrying an unspeakable terror.

The power erupted in an instant, unleashing itself like a raging deluge.

The entire Starlight Entertainment building seemed fragile before it.

Everything around them, enveloped by an invisible force, was instantly reduced to fine dust.

The astonishing transformation was utterly silent. Not a single sound was made.

The crowd on the dance floor was suddenly exposed to the evening sun.

All that remained was a thick layer of dust on the ground where the bustling club once stood.

With a casual wave of his sleeve, Chu He summoned a light breeze that swept the dust away, revealing the ground as if it had always been a wide, open platform.

Young Master Liu witnessed it all, his shock beyond description.

He had never seen such power. The man before him, Chu He, seemed to be an existence beyond human comprehension.

"Sir, this matter has far-reaching implications. It's not that I don't want to talk, it's that I really can't."

Young Master Liu dropped to his knees. "If I talk, my entire family will be razed to the ground. Not a single soul will be spared... Besides, this matter involves the upper echelons of the Royal City."

Chu He ignored Young Master Liu's pleas. His gaze passed through the crowd and landed on a well not far away.

The well had been hidden away inside a locked room, but with Starlight Entertainment obliterated by Chu He, it now stood exposed.

"So, the secret of Starlight Entertainment must be this well,"

Chu He said. "What's inside that well is the source of the Evil Spirit Power you possess.

If I'm not mistaken, all these young people you've gathered here to party are meant to be sacrifices for the thing inside."

Hearing this, Young Master Liu collapsed to the ground.

His greatest secret was completely exposed.

Whether he spoke or not, his family was doomed.

Watching Young Master Liu's reaction, Chu He couldn't help but feel a flicker of curiosity.

'Back in the Great Jing Empire, I never heard any rumors of humans cooperating with Evil Spirits.'

'And I don't understand how Young Master Liu is able to store an Evil Spirit's power in his body and wield it like Elemental Power.'

'This makes me realize, perhaps I kept the Great Jing Empire in such good order,'

'that I was unaware other regions were still suffering from the scourge of Evil Spirits, to the point that some unpredictable aberrations have occurred.'

Just then, Liu Yuzhu walked over, a pleading look on her face. "Mr. Chu, for Her Majesty the Queen's sake, could you please help the Great Xia Empire investigate this matter?"

She understood the gravity of the situation and knew that only an expert as powerful as Chu He could resolve it.
