I'm currently reclining on a very comfortable chair that the Chieftain Monarch managed to make using his magic.
Surrounded by plenty of pillows, it's seems like a nest of some sorts that I'm very tempted to close my eyes again and sleep.
It doesn't help that I'm covered with a blanket that Lion wrapped my body with.
It's so cosy.
Yet I felt uncomfortable.
I am currently beside the Chieftain Monarch in the throne room. If it weren't for the fact that I'm still recovering, he would make me sit with him on his throne.
It seems that there's something important going on as the pack stood in front of him and there are numerous creatures inside the throne room, most are staring at me.
I can't blame them for staring though as I myself is curious on why on earth am I here.
Is there something going on?
I looked like Thumbelina.
Everyone except Lion and Orm looked like giants to me though if Orm stand on his tail, he would be a giant as well.
I want to get out of here.
I'm already used to the pack being taller than me, especially Alpha, Sly and Ghost as Orm mostly doesn't stand on his tail except during when he's attacking an enemy.
But I'm not used to being inside a room full of mostly predators, all of them looked like giants to me.
It's very rare to meet creatures and beings that are smaller than me, even Heph who is a fire dwarf is a bit taller than me though Lion is way taller than him.
Now I'm curious about everyone's heights except the pack as I already estimated the pack's heights when I came back from my previous world.
Now I'm getting distracted.
Why am I here?
Can't I just stay in a room or something?
Even the pack looked confused on why they are here also in the throne room.
We just returned from getting the magic stone in which I'm hugely thankful for as I want a period of rest without worries of meeting any monsters or dangerous beings.
Good bye rest as it seems that the Chieftain Monarch has something to announce to everyone.
And it's not just random creatures as mostly the creatures present right now are the elites or those who have high positions in the territory.
What's going on??!!!
Due to his work which I still don't have any idea what it is, Lion has a high position in the territory. Not just any high position, as what Puma told me that he belongs among the highest positions there is and yes, he belongs to the elite also.
Now that I'm back in the territory, I will definitely find out what kind of high position he has since I don't want to ask him.
Asking the Chieftain Monarch might be a better option than asking Lion directly.
I don't know why I feel awkward asking him.
He's an open book whenever I ask him about anything. But somehow, I felt uncomfortable asking him about himself, especially his past.
He knows almost everything about me yet I still don't know a lot about him except his present self.
His past is still a mystery to me.
As for the rest of the pack, though they currently don't have a position in the territory, the citizens held them in high regard due to their power, abilities and fortune.
Not to mention their handsome faces and attractive bodies.
Back when I spent some time with Puma while Sly took some time to visit our businesses, she told me the latest gossip and news around the territory.
It seems that the pack are famous in the territory and almost all of the females desired them to be their mates despite some having several mates already.
Puma assured me that she isn't interested at them which made me laugh boisterously. Puma admitted that though having a harem sounds tempting to her, she can't have one as she is very fertile and exhausted already due to her having plenty of offsprings. She gave me a grin and told me that if she's not that fertile then she might consider having several secondary mates.
I looked towards her in disbelief in which she told me nonchalantly that it's quite normal having several mates though her situation with her mate is quite abnormal as both of them are exhausted in having to take care of offsprings but they just can't resist having intercourse again and again and aga...
Anyway, despite the rest of the pack having no position, they are already considered to be among the elites.
Puma told me that a lot of the females are envious of me, saying all sorts of nasty things like I'm a parasite to them, living off their riches in which Puma's voice sounded in outrage at the last part.
I just laughed as Puma kept on saying that if they only knew what I and the pack have been through and she admitted that she got into several fights already because of that.
Thanks Puma but I don't really care what they think though.
Puma reminded me that it's because of me that the pack, her and her entire family are living in fortune.
I immediately told her that it's not me but it's the result of their hard work and efforts.
I'm just giving out ideas which they make it work.
Puma narrowed her eyes as she began to tell me the quality of their lives before and after they met me.
Despite Lion's skills and abilities, not to mention his contributions to the territory, he was paid poorly at his job. With a raised eyebrow, Puma asked me if I can recall the quality of Lion's castle when I first visited it in which I have no answer.
Sly went shopping almost everyday, buying all sorts of rare items and good quality clothing every time he got off work. Puma grinned at me as she told me if I can still remember the quality of Sly's clothing back then.
Orm, the typical rich boy finally has his own fortune without relying on his father in which I didn't tell Puma about the real situation of Orm though being trained in magic is a privilege mostly offered to the elites.
As for Ghost, if it weren't for the fact that Lion refused to use magic to expand his room, he would have an uncontrolled shopping spree everyday.
Despite Alpha being the heir, Puma said that he looks unhappy before. After he joined the pack, there's a huge change in him in which he works enthusiastically, much to everyone's surprise as there is no need for him as his current position gave him everything he wanted.
Puma sighed and continued on telling me that Alpha could have anything he wanted except for me. That is the huge question on everyone's minds as they can't understand it.
He has everything every citizen could ask for except for the fact that he's not the primary mate of his mate. A lot of the elites told him that he's crazy and even goaded him in challenging Lion for the primary mate position.
I should find out the names of the creatures who goaded him. I will tear them into teeny tiny pi...
The Chieftain Monarch's voice interrupted my thoughts in which I heard Lion's name being called.
Wait.
I didn't quite catch what he was saying before mentioning Lion's name.
Lion simply nodded towards the Chieftain Monarch in which I heard several murmurs and gasps from among the elites.
What just happened?!
Stupid me!

I want to cry.
The Chieftain Monarch must have noticed my distress and frustration in which he chuckled and whispered into my ear on what he just announced before mentioning Lion's name.
Lion just became a member of the Chieftain Monarch's council as the new strategist.

I tried myself not to grin as I already have an idea why Orm's father, Yilan is not the strategist anymore.

He looks like he doesn't care as he kept on praising Lion.
The Chieftain Monarch cleared his throat in which the noise around the throne room died down.
Besides Sly being the beta of the pack, he is also the right hand of Lion's current position.
Both Lion and Sly are going to be busy as they are now members of the Chieftain Monarch's council.
Orm has a position as well among the palace's magic users as he is now the head of the magic users since the previous one has lost his mind.
As for Ghost, he is now the head trainer of the palace guards. Besides the head trainer, he is appointed as the head of security in the palace which made a lot of us chuckle in amusement. He looked like he is about to protest in which Lion gave him a glare.
Then the Chieftain Monarch told Alpha that they are going to have a meeting right now with the council as they have important topics to discuss, many of which are time constraint.
Wait.
What about me?
Can I go now and leave the palace?
Since the pack have new positions, I am planning to stay at the clinic for the meantime until I can find a new place for me to stay as I don't want to stay at Lion's castle by myself.
I tried not to look at Lion as I asked the Chieftain Monarch in a whisper, if I'm allowed to leave the palace since we are done with our mission and there's nothing for me to do here.
I have a bad feeling when the Chieftain Monarch began to grin at me.
Uh-oh.

I wanted to have a relaxing vacation!
To my dismay, the Chieftain Monarch then announced to everyone in glee that I'm going to be his elite companion, much to the horror of the pack and surprise of the elites.
Elite companion?
What is that?
After the Chieftain Monarch explained it to me, I finally understood in which an elite companion is like a lady-in-waiting.
That sounds interesting.
Until I learned later that in the past, elite companions are also known as consorts of the Chieftain Monarch.
But since I already have a feeling that the Chieftain Monarch isn't interested in seeing me that way, I don't have any problem with that though the pack definitely has a problem with my stupid position.
It's just a title as I already have an idea that the Chieftain Monarch has no plans in taking a consort.
I see.
Now I understand.
Seeing the knowing look in the Chieftain Monarch's eyes confirms my suspicions.
He made me his elite companion for my own safety as the pack will be very busy for now.
It's a good thing as well, as I can finally resume my investigation.
Also find a way to warn the Chieftain Monarch on what I know.
I tried not to look at the pack as seeing their faces in horror made me want to laugh loudly.
I snuggled towards the pillows in which I suddenly feel sleepy.
The Chieftain Monarch told me that I should sleep as I don't look well and haven't yet recovered in which I did gladly.
