Chapter 63 - Chapter 63 Wang Dong's Invitation.

Chapter 63 Wang Dong's Invitation.

Hearing her mother's name, Ma Xiaotao sighed softly. From a young age, she had been raised by Yan Shaozhe, who was both her teacher and her adoptive father.

In her spare time, she couldn't help but wonder what her biological parents were like.

Were they powerful Soul Masters with strong martial spirits, renowned throughout the land, or were they ordinary people, living simple lives with gentle eyes and kind hearts?

Seeing Ma Xiaotao's silence, Deng Mu asked, "Sister Xiaotao, what's wrong?"

Hearing Deng Mu's words, Ma Xiaotao snapped out of her reverie and shook her head, saying, "Nothing, just thinking about some things."

Seeing Ma Xiaotao like this, Deng Mu guessed what she was thinking.

She was probably thinking about her own parents. He remembered that Ma Xiaotao had been raised by Yan Shaozhe, and hearing him mention her mother made him think about what her own parents were like.

Deng Mu jokingly took Ma Xiaotao's hand and said, "Then, shall I take Sister Xiaotao back with me to meet Grandma?"

Ma Xiaotao playfully shook off Deng Mu's hand, "You naughty boy, if you keep teasing me like that, I'll really get angry."

Though her words were harsh, her cheeks flushed, and a hint of panic still lingered in her eyes.

However, because of Deng Mu's words, her longing for her parents lessened somewhat.

She knew very well that something must have happened to her parents, otherwise why hadn't she ever seen them?

Moreover, her teacher had never mentioned her parents, so they had probably passed away many years ago.

Deng Mu held Ma Xiaotao's hand and said, "Sister Xiaotao, don't be sad, you still have me, I'll always be with you."

He remembered that in the original story, it seemed that Ma Xiaotao's parents weren't mentioned, so they probably died in some accident and were found by Yan Shaozhe.

The Tang family loved to have love triangles or stories of parents suddenly disappearing, so he was used to such things.

Hearing Deng Mu's words, Ma Xiaotao felt a warmth in her heart, and at the same time, a little embarrassed. She hugged Deng Mu and whispered, "Yes, it's so good to have you here."

After chatting for a while, Ma Xiaotao said goodbye to Deng Mu and left his house.

The next day, in the morning.

Deng Mu packed his things and went downstairs to wait for Tang Ya and Jiang Nannan.

"Hmm? Xiao Mu, what are you doing here?"

After waiting downstairs for a while, Wang Dong's voice came from behind him.

Hearing Wang Dong's voice, Deng Mu turned around and saw Wang Dong walking towards him.

Deng Mu smiled at Wang Dong and said, "Good morning, I came to wait for Sister Xiao Ya and the others, and we'll go home together."

When Wang Dong learned that Deng Mu and Tang Ya were going home, she asked curiously, "Are they your biological sisters? But I remember you don't seem to have the same surname."

She had often heard Deng Mu call Tang Ya and Jiang Nannan "sister," and she had always thought it was because the three of them were close.

How could that be? A family can have several different surnames.

Deng Mu scratched his head, his smile undiminished, and explained, "They're not my biological sisters, but to me they're no different. I was taken in by my mother, and Sister Xiaoya was taken in by me."

Although he said he was engaged to Tang Ya, he always considered her as an older sister, not his fiancée.

Hearing Deng Mu's explanation, Wang Dong nodded to show he understood, a little surprised that Deng Mu had taken Tang Ya in.

Wang Dong looked at Deng Mu, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "Xiao Mu, could you come home with me next holiday?"

She looked at Deng Mu somewhat shyly, worried that he might refuse.

She wanted to take Deng Mu to meet her second and third uncles. If Deng Mu gained their approval, and her father didn't like him, her second and third uncles could speak up for him.

However, given their personalities, gaining their approval would be difficult, but she was confident she could persuade them.

Hearing Wang Dong's invitation, Deng Mu looked at her with some surprise.

He hadn't expected Wang Dong to invite him to the Haotian Sect; could it be that she was taking him to meet Da Ming and Er Ming?

At this moment, Wang Dong addressed Da Ming and Er Ming as "Big Uncle" and "Second Uncle," a rather awkward way to address them.

Deng Mu thought for a moment, looked at Wang Dong, and said, "Okay, I'll go back with you then."

Seeing Deng Mu agree, Wang Dong was very happy, glad that Deng Mu agreed to go back with her.

Deng Mu leaned close to Wang Dong's ear and whispered, "When the time comes, I'll meet your parents."

He suddenly remembered something interesting: Tang Hao and the others were treating him like an illegitimate child, but Xiao Wu and Wang Dong didn't know this.

If Wang Dong took him back and told him she had fallen for him, Tang San would probably be completely stunned, and Tang San would definitely stop it.

Wang Dong blushed, lightly punched Deng Mu, and scolded, "You're just teasing me, stop being so glib!"

But she couldn't hide the smile on her lips; her heart was filled with anticipation for bringing Deng Mu home next year. Her mind was already conjuring up various scenarios—one moment worrying about her second and third uncles being too strict, the next imagining the scene after Deng Mu gained their approval.

She and Deng Mu would definitely be together; even the King of Heaven himself couldn't stop them.

If her father objected, she would ask her mother and uncles to speak on her behalf.

She was very confident; her uncles and aunts adored her, and Aunt Xiao Lü and the others were also very kind to her. It was certain that she and Deng Mu would be together.

She had already admitted to Deng Mu that she was a girl, because she felt she had already let it slip and there was no need to hide it from him. If someone else snatched her away, she would have nowhere to cry.

Deng Mu held Wang Dong's hand and joked, "Well, after meeting your parents, I'll take you to meet your mother-in-law."

Wang Dong rolled her eyes playfully, "You're always joking around, but it's interesting. Meeting your mother-in-law can wait."

Though she said this, her heart was pounding like a rabbit's, filled with anticipation and excitement as she imagined meeting Deng Mu's family.

Hearing Wang Dong's words, Deng Mu smiled and said, "Looks like Dong'er, you admit you like me?"

Wang Dong's cheeks flushed, and she turned her head away, muttering, "Hmph, you know so much! It's obvious, why do you have to ask? So annoying!"

But the way she tightly gripped Deng Mu's hand betrayed her true feelings.

Just then, Wang Dong saw Tang Ya and Jiang Nannan coming downstairs, and quickly let go of her hand, fleeing in a panic.

Deng Mu was taken aback by Wang Dong's sudden action, and watching her hurried departure, he shook his head with a helpless smile.

Tang Ya and Jiang Nannan walked over, and seeing Deng Mu's appearance, Tang Ya teased, "Hey, Xiao Mu, what's wrong? We just saw you and Wang Dong chatting and laughing here, how come he ran away in the blink of an eye?"
