Chapter 62 - Chapter 62 A Year in a Hurry.

Chapter 62 A Year in a Hurry.

But there wasn't much blame in her tone; rather, it was shyness and panic.

Deng Mu looked at her with a mischievous grin, scratching his head and saying, "Sister Xiao Tao, you've already asked for a gift, how could I not give you one?"

Ma Xiao Tao was both amused and annoyed by his words, rolling her eyes at him and saying, "Hmph, you think you're right, huh? You're getting bolder and bolder."

Although she said that, her heart was inexplicably pounding, and the blush on her cheeks hadn't faded.

Seeing Ma Xiao Tao like this, Deng Mu kissed her again.

Ma Xiao Tao was even more surprised, her eyes widening, and she couldn't help but gasp softly, "Ah!"

Her face instantly turned even redder, like a ripe apple, and the little deer in her heart pounded even more wildly.

"Xiao Mu, you...you're doing it again!" Ma Xiao Tao was both shy and anxious.

She raised her hand to hit Deng Mu again, but halfway through, she gently lowered it, only glaring at him reproachfully.

Seeing this, Deng Mu quickly smiled and begged for forgiveness, "Sister Xiaotao, I was wrong. I just couldn't resist because you're so cute."

He took two steps back, feigning fear of being hit.

Ma Xiaotao was both amused and annoyed by Deng Mu's act. She bit her lip and said, "Hmph, all you do is sweet talk. This time you really went too far!"

But her tone didn't betray much anger; it was more of an unconcealed shyness.

Deng Mu hugged Ma Xiaotao's arm and apologized, "I'm sorry, Sister Xiaotao, I won't kiss you anymore."

Hearing Deng Mu's apology, Ma Xiaotao felt a strange mix of emotions. She pouted slightly and said, "Hmph, that's more like it. Let's see if you dare to be so presumptuous next time."

But her gaze unconsciously drifted towards Deng Mu, the shyness still lingering in her eyes.

Deng Mu nodded hastily, saying sincerely, "I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare, Sister Xiao Tao, please don't be angry, I really know I was wrong."

As he spoke, he gently shook Ma Xiao Tao's arm, looking like a child eager to be forgiven for making a mistake.

Seeing his expression, Ma Xiaotao couldn't help but chuckle. She gently patted Deng Mu's hand and said, "Okay, okay, I'm not really angry."

Then, Ma Xiaotao whispered, "If you want to kiss me in the future, don't do it in front of other people. I'll be embarrassed."

Deng Mu was a little surprised to hear this, and his mischievous smile returned. He said, "Sister Xiaotao, does that mean I can kiss you when no one's around?"

Ma Xiaotao's face flushed red again. She raised her hand and gently slapped Deng Mu's head, scolding him, "Oh, you little rascal, you always find something to say. I didn't mean it that way, hmph!"

But her eyes held a hint of coquettishness, and there wasn't much real blame.

Deng Mu laughed and dodged, scratching his head, saying, "Okay, okay, Sister Xiaotao, I know, I'll listen to you, I won't do anything reckless again."

Ma Xiaotao rolled her eyes at Deng Mu, but couldn't help but smile slightly, saying, "That's more like it. Remember what you said, or I'll really get angry."

Seeing Ma Xiaotao's smile, Deng Mu nodded and promised her.

The two of them joked back and forth, laughing heartily at each other's witty remarks.

"Alright, I have other things to do, so I'll leave first. Xiaomu, you can come find me next door if you have time, I live next door." Ma Xiaotao got up to leave and said to Deng Mu.

Deng Mu quickly nodded and replied, "Okay, Sister Xiaotao, you go ahead and do your thing, I'll come find you when I have time."

Watching Ma Xiaotao turn and leave, Deng Mu's lips unconsciously curled up.

Time passed day by day.

Deng Mu studied diligently in the inner courtyard, while Ma Xiaotao would come to visit him every few days. Before he knew it, a year had gone by.

During this year, Deng Mu devoted himself entirely to learning and researching Soul Master knowledge and Soul Tools.

He listened attentively to every lesson from his mentors, taking meticulous notes, and constantly seeking help from mentors or senior students when he encountered problems.

He spent a great deal of time understanding the structural principles and manufacturing processes of Soul Tools.

Starting with the most basic knowledge of Soul Tool components, he gradually progressed to attempting to repair some simply damaged Soul Tools himself, his skills becoming increasingly refined through continuous practice.

In just a few months, he became a Level 1 Soul Master, faster than Huo Yutong.

He had a dream: to create a Battle Armor during the Second Battle Realm.

Battle Armor is a super mecha similar to armor, created by the Soul Master's own participation in the manufacturing process. It is essentially an extension of a Soul Master's strength and an important component of their power.

During this year, Deng Mu also took time to visit Huo Yutong and the others, learning a great deal along the way.

After he left, Huo Yutong's situation remained similar to the original story, except that her cultivation speed was faster, for reasons unknown. For some reason, Wang Dong suddenly became interested in soul tools and began learning them alongside Huo Yutong. However, his talent was slightly inferior to Huo Yutong's, which surprised Deng Mu.

Being slightly less talented than Huo Yutong didn't mean Wang Dong lacked ability; it meant his talent was quite good.

Tang Ya, at his suggestion, went to learn soul tools, wanting to combine them with hidden weapons. However, Tang Ya's talent was average, not as good as Wang Dong's or Huo Yutong's.

As for her cultivation, she barely reached level 40. Without the benefits of sharing Huo Yutong's pills, she would be at level 39, still some distance from level 40.

"Hmm, it's vacation time. I should go back to see my mother and Na'er," Deng Mu stretched, leaning back in his chair, talking to himself.

He wondered if Na'er had left. If Na'er suddenly left without saying goodbye, his mother would be extremely worried about her safety.

A few days ago, I made plans with Tang Ya and the others to go back home together after the holiday to visit my mother and Na'er.

This time, they rented a carriage. The horses were specially bred and much faster than ordinary horses, allowing them to reach Beicheng much faster.

Of course, the price was very expensive; most Soul Masters couldn't afford such a carriage.

"Xiao Mu, what are you doing?"

Ma Xiaotao's voice rang out, and then she climbed in through the window.

Deng Mu was startled by the sudden noise. After recognizing Ma Xiaotao, he smiled helplessly: "Sister Xiaotao, why are you climbing in through the window again? The door isn't locked."

He didn't know when it started, but Ma Xiaotao had developed a habit of climbing in through the window. He had told her several times, but she wouldn't listen, which frustrated him greatly.

Ma Xiaotao clapped her hands nonchalantly and giggled: "Climbing in through the window is convenient, I heard you're going home?"

Deng Mu nodded, tidying up the books on the table as he said, "Yes, I haven't seen my mother and Na'er in a long time, I miss them terribly."
