Chapter 22 The Great Sumeru Hammer Conjecture and Experiment.

Immediately afterward, Deng Mu asked Tang Hao, "By the way, Grandpa, is the hammer in your hand the Clear Sky Hammer?"

Tang Hao nodded and showed Deng Mu the Clear Sky Hammer: "That's right, this is my martial soul, the Clear Sky Hammer."

Hearing this, Deng Mu leaned closer, carefully examining Tang Hao's Clear Sky Hammer.

It was indeed different from his own Clear Sky Hammer, somewhat resembling the Great Sumeru Hammer, but not completely transformed into it.

After observing Tang Hao's Clear Sky Hammer for a while, Deng Mu asked Tang Hao, "Grandpa, does our Clear Sky Hammer have a higher form?"

Hearing Deng Mu's question, Tang Hao paused for a moment before replying, "Yes, that form is called the Great Sumeru Hammer."

The Great Sumeru Hammer was a divine skill. He remembered his father telling him that it was inherently a divine skill, and only by breaking through level 100 could one fully unleash the power of the Great Sumeru Hammer.

There was also a rumor in the Clear Sky Sect that the Clear Sky Hammer had a higher form, called the Great Sumeru Hammer, but no one had been able to reach that form or create the Great Sumeru Hammer.

Deng Mu looked at Tang Hao's Clear Sky Hammer and said, "Grandpa, have you noticed something? My Clear Sky Hammer and yours are a little different."

Hearing Deng Mu's words, Tang Hao looked at his own Clear Sky Hammer and Deng Mu's.

After comparing the two hammers, Tang Hao was surprised to find that, as Deng Mu said, their Clear Sky Hammers were indeed different.

Deng Mu then offered his conjecture: "Grandpa, I have a conjecture about the Great Sumeru Hammer, but you need to tell me about it before I can confirm if it's true."

Tang Hao was curious, wondering what his eldest grandson was thinking, and what conjecture about the Great Sumeru Hammer he could come up with, so he told Deng Mu his thoughts.

Listening to the discussion about the Great Sumeru Hammer, Deng Mu became increasingly certain of his own thoughts.

If one wanted the Clear Sky Hammer to evolve into the Great Sumeru Hammer, one would have to reach the god level—or possess the power of a god.

After hearing this, Deng Mu nodded and said, "Grandfather, my speculation about the Great Sumeru Hammer is the same: only by reaching the god level, or possessing divine power, can the Clear Sky Hammer evolve into the Great Sumeru Hammer."

Tang Hao couldn't help but recall the scenes from the past when he had used the Great Sumeru Hammer. After becoming a god, he had never carefully examined his martial soul again.

If not for his beloved grandson discovering the changes in his Clear Sky Hammer, Tang Hao might have needed a very long time to notice it—or perhaps he would never have noticed it at all.

At this moment, he remembered where the legends of the Great Sumeru Hammer came from.

The first legend claimed that the founding ancestor of the Clear Sky Sect was a god who possessed the Great Sumeru Hammer. However, later generations were unable to withstand its power and could only awaken the Clear Sky Hammer.

That god passed down the Great Sumeru Hammer technique, hoping that future descendants would be able to evolve the Clear Sky Hammer into the Great Sumeru Hammer.

After Tang Hao became a god, he never encountered that deity. He didn't know whether that god had perished or what had become of him.

The second legend was similar to the first: the ancestor of the Clear Sky Sect was a god who wielded the Great Sumeru Hammer. Because his descendants could not endure its power, he sealed the Great Sumeru Hammer. Once sealed, it became the Clear Sky Hammer.

Now, it seemed that the second legend was the more likely truth.

Deng Mu… truly is the Kirin child of the Tang family.

Tang Hao sighed inwardly. Little San had given birth to a fine child indeed.

However, the Great Sumeru Hammer could not be taught to his grandson just yet. It wasn't that he didn't trust Deng Mu, but that cultivating the Great Sumeru Hammer required an extraordinarily gifted genius with an exceptional physique. Otherwise, not only would cultivation fail, it could even endanger one's life.

Because of this, each generation could only pass it down to a single person.

"Grandfather, I want to try," Deng Mu said. "I need you to inject your power into my Clear Sky Hammer."

"Alright."

Tang Hao nodded, indicating his understanding, and began to pour his power into Deng Mu's Clear Sky Hammer.

Deng Mu felt a surge of energy rapidly breaking through the layers of constraints on the Clear Sky Hammer. These constraints were not originally there, but they were felt after the energy impact, and soon reached the last layer of constraints on the Clear Sky Hammer.

"Xiao Mu, tell me if you can't take it."

"Okay."

Tang Hao injected energy into Deng Mu's Clear Sky Hammer again, breaking through this barrier.

"Crack—"

As the energy broke through the barrier, Deng Mu heard a shattering sound, and then the Clear Sky Hammer changed.

The Clear Sky Hammer turned crimson, with golden patterns covering it.

Tang Hao looked at Deng Mu's martial soul in surprise and said, "It really is! The Clear Sky Hammer can really evolve into the Great Sumeru Hammer. No wonder so many people in the Clear Sky Sect have never possessed the Great Sumeru Hammer." However, he knew that Deng Mu's Great Sumeru Hammer was only temporary. Once his power was exhausted, the Great Sumeru Hammer would degenerate into the Clear Sky Hammer.

This gave him an idea: to use his power to nurture Deng Mu's Clear Sky Hammer, and then, after absorbing a soul ring, it would evolve into the Great Sumeru Hammer.

The Clear Sky Hammer's barrier had already been broken by his power; all it needed was enough energy to evolve into the Great Sumeru Hammer.

As for him, he could only cultivate slowly to allow the Clear Sky Hammer to completely evolve into the Great Sumeru Hammer.

There was no other way; the stronger one's strength, the more energy is needed for evolution.

Tang Hao had an idea: find 100,000-year-old soul beasts for Deng Mu and have them become the martial soul of his grandson, the Clear Sky Hammer. This would provide enough energy for it to evolve into the Great Sumeru Hammer.

Deng Mu silently sensed the Great Sumeru Hammer, marveling at its true power; it should be considered a god-level martial soul.

He felt that if he had a Great Sumeru Hammer with a soul ring, he might be able to fight a three-ring Venerable.

"Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique!"

Deng Mu switched to a large tree and used the Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique on it.

With just one strike, he broke the tree in front of him.

Watching this, Deng Mu marveled at the Great Sumeru Hammer's power.

He only needed one strike to break the tree.

Deng Mu felt that when he reached the Title Douluo level with the Great Sumeru Hammer, it was unlikely any other Title Douluo would be able to defeat him.

"Not bad, the power has increased several times," Tang Hao commented on the power of Deng Mu's attack.

A few minutes later, Deng Mu's Great Sumeru Hammer reverted back to the Clear Sky Hammer.

Tang Hao approached Deng Mu and touched his Clear Sky Hammer, saying, "I've left three streams of power within your Clear Sky Hammer. These power will allow it to evolve into the Great Sumeru Hammer for combat, but each can only last for ten minutes."

He had originally intended to leave more energy in Deng Mu's Clear Sky Hammer, but it couldn't withstand that much, so he could only leave three streams.

Deng Mu nodded and said, "Yes, thank you, Grandpa."

For some reason, Deng Mu felt that Tang Hao and Ah Yin seemed to favor him more than Tang Wutong.

Was it just his imagination?
