Chapter 27 An Encounter with Yan Shaozhe and Ma Xiaotao.

"Take this!"

Deng Mu, wielding the Clear Sky Hammer, used the Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique against the soul beast before him.

The soul beast fighting Deng Mu was called the Steel-Armed Giant Ape. It was massive, standing over three zhang tall, its body covered in black fur as hard as steel, shimmering with a metallic sheen in the sunlight.

Its arms were incredibly thick, the muscles like coiled pythons, each swing carrying the power to split mountains and shatter rocks.

Its facial features were distinct, its eyes like deep bronze bells, radiating a resolute and fierce light, and its gaping maw contained fangs as sharp as swords.

This was the soul beast Tang Hao had chosen for Deng Mu, quite suitable for sparring.

Each hammer blow struck the Steel-Armed Giant Ape fiercely, as if each strike would kill it. The Steel-Armed Giant Ape kept blocking Deng Mu's attacks; it truly couldn't believe that this human child before it possessed such immense power in every strike.

It was utterly impossible for him to retaliate. Most importantly, Deng Mu's attacks were increasingly powerful, and he was gradually becoming unable to withstand them.

However, he had no chance to fight back.

"Bang—"

With a heavy blow from Deng Mu, the Steel-Armed Giant Ape was sent flying, crashing into a large tree and falling unconscious.

Looking at the unconscious Steel-Armed Giant Ape, Deng Mu thought to himself that this thousand-year-old soul beast was a bit weak, not enough for his training.

Tang Hao nodded in agreement, confirming that the Steel-Armed Giant Ape was indeed somewhat weak.

He needed to find Deng Mu a new, five-thousand-year-old soul beast.

Before training, he needed to understand his grandson's strength to better choose a soul beast for Deng Mu's training.

Looking at the unconscious Steel-Armed Giant Ape, Deng Mu thought for a moment and used his second soul skill, Blue Silver Rejuvenation Technique.

The next second, a burst of life-giving blue-silver light emanated from him, spreading outwards.

The light shone on the Steel-Armed Giant Ape, and its wounds healed rapidly. In no time, the giant ape was completely healed.

Seeing the giant ape's rapid recovery, Deng Mu roughly understood the effectiveness of his healing soul skill.

He wasn't a saint; he healed the giant ape because it was training with him, and also to test the effectiveness of his second soul skill.

Seeing Deng Mu heal the giant ape, Tang Hao thought Deng Mu was very kind, just like his Ah Yin.

Although Deng Mu was kind, he fought without hesitation, showing no mercy, which was quite admirable.

After a while, the Steel-Armed Giant Ape gradually awoke, incredibly surprised to find himself completely unharmed.

Seeing Deng Mu not far away, the giant ape suspected that the human in front of it had healed it.

It found this human very strange; he had severely injured it, yet healed it.

Unable to figure it out, the giant ape chose to flee, to avoid being beaten up by this human.

Deng Mu chuckled as he watched the Steel-Armed Giant Ape flee. He had thought the ape would continue fighting him.

"Grandpa, let's go, let's find other spirit beasts."

"Okay."

Tang Hao led Deng Mu to find other spirit beasts to improve his combat experience.

In just one minute, Tang Hao found a suitable spirit beast for Deng Mu to spar with.

The Flame Shadow Leopard was a thousand-year-old fire-attribute spirit beast. It was agile and graceful, its body covered in flame patterns, as if meticulously sculpted by fire.

Its fur was a striking red and black, appearing like dancing flames in the darkness, radiating a scorching aura.

However, this Flame Shadow Leopard is a 7,000-year-old soul beast. If Deng Mu were to fight it, he would likely suffer greatly.

After all, he had instructed Deng Mu not to use soul skills, but only to rely on the Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique and Tang Sect's unique skills to fight the soul beast.

Since Deng Mu's Blue Silver Emperor was a support-oriented build, without rich combat experience, he could easily be defeated.

Tang Hao considered it and decided to take Deng Mu along. If anything unexpected happened, he would deal with the Flame Shadow Leopard.

"Hmm?"

On the way to the Flame Shadow Leopard's location, Deng Mu saw two people not far away.

The two were a man and a woman; the man looked to be over 60 years old, and the girl looked only about 12 years old.

The girl's eyes lit up when she saw Deng Mu, and she ran up to him to greet him: "Hello, little brother, my name is Ma Xiaotao, what's your name?"

Upon learning that the other person was Ma Xiaotao, Deng Mu looked at her with some surprise. As for the man's identity, he already knew; this man was Yan Shaozhe.

He hadn't expected to encounter Ma Xiaotao and Yan Shaozhe here. Could it be that Ma Xiaotao had reached level 30 by now?

It seemed unlikely; Yan Shaozhe had probably brought Ma Xiaotao here for training.

Deng Mu thought for a moment and greeted Ma Xiaotao, "Hello, my name is Deng Mu."

While they were talking, Yan Shaozhe secretly observed Deng Mu and Tang Hao.

He was somewhat surprised that he couldn't detect Tang Hao's strength.

However, he had already ascertained Deng Mu's strength; he had actually reached level 24.

This astonished him greatly. This talent seemed even higher than his teacher, Mu En, who reached level 20 at the age of 8.

And this child in front of him looked to be less than 8 years old, yet he had reached level 24—truly a genius among geniuses.

Even the legendary Tang San couldn't possibly surpass Deng Mu's talent.

This made Yan Shaozhe consider inviting Deng Mu to Shrek Academy, but thinking of Tang Hao beside Deng Mu, he couldn't help but sigh.

With Tang Hao's unfathomable strength, Deng Mu must come from a top-tier power. How could someone from such a top-tier power allow a genius like Deng Mu to come to their Shrek Academy?

He sensed that Tang Hao and Deng Mu were likely from a hidden sect; otherwise, he should know of Tang Hao.

Yan Shaozhe mentally checked his composure and respectfully said to Tang Hao, "Junior Yan Shaozhe greets Senior."

He couldn't be impolite to such unfathomable powerhouses.

Tang Hao nodded slightly in response to Yan Shaozhe's words and looked at Ma Xiaotao.

He had just sensed Ma Xiaotao; her talent was quite good.

However, Ma Xiaotao's martial soul reminded him of someone—Tang San's brother, Ma Hongjun.

He remembered that after Ma Hongjun became a god, his wife's talent was somewhat lacking, and his wife and child remained on Douluo Continent.

This child also had the surname Ma; could she be a descendant of Ma Hongjun?

Just as Tang Hao was pondering this, Ma Xiaotao grabbed Deng Mu's hand and kept talking.

Listening to Ma Xiaotao's incessant chatter, Deng Mu looked at her helplessly.

He remembered Ma Xiaotao as a cold and aloof older sister?

How could she be like this as a child? It was a completely different image.

It's possible he's mistaken. Having lived in this world for so many years, he's forgotten the personalities of many of the characters he's played. Who bothers remembering everyone's personalities every day?
