"Designing a character?"
Hearing the system's voice, Rios was momentarily stunned.
It hadn't been long since he had given the imitation Pyro Vision to Chuychu, and now the system had sent a message saying that Mihoyo had agreed to include Chuychu in the gacha pool.
Moreover, Rios himself had to personally handle the design.
"When I changed Kinich from Dendro to Pyro, why didn't they ask me to design him?"
Rios communicated with the system in his mind.
[Because Kinich already had skill designs in place. All Mihoyo had to do was tweak the effects and adjust the numbers.]
Numbers?
Rios recalled the feeling of playing Kinich in his previous life.
That time, his luck had exploded, and with a single ten-pull, he got double gold, drawing Kinich to C1.
During the Elemental Skill, he could fire four to five shots, each with a multiplier over 1000%, often seeing Kinich deal 300,000 or even 400,000 damage.
And that was just because Kinich was Dendro, which didn't easily benefit from the Brave Heart set's damage bonus.
Now that he had become a Pyro character, utilizing the Brave Heart set's damage bonus would be incredibly easy, and the damage output would only be even more outrageous than before.
"Yeah, it definitely needs some adjustments."
Rios's attention returned to Chuychu.
"Chuychu, you're not someone who specializes in combat."
"After getting the Vision, you'll return to the Flower-Feather Clan to train and get familiar with the power of the Vision."
"If there's anything you don't understand, just ask your sister more. Although she has an Anemo Vision, many things are similar and can help you."
Hearing this, Chuychu smiled shyly: "Pyro Archon, my relationship with my sister isn't actually that good."
"Then use this opportunity to improve your relationship."
"By the way, make yourself look even prettier."
She was going to enter the gacha pool in the future—if she didn't dress up a bit prettier, how could she stir up the players' mood values?
"Ah? I understand."
Chuychu didn't know what improving her relationship with her sister had to do with making herself look good.
But since the Pyro Archon said so, it must be that her current outfit wasn't up to par, so she should just dress up properly.
After Chuychu left, Rios went to his desk and began conceptualizing Chuychu's skill mechanics.
According to the system, Rios was responsible for providing the skill design draft, while Mihoyo would handle the number tuning, and also have the copywriters polish the skill names to make them sound nice.
The character skills designed by Rios had to fit four-star intensity—if he added too many miscellaneous abilities, Mihoyo would send it back for a rewrite later.
"In Genshin's design style, any character related to the doctor profession is 100% guaranteed to have healing capabilities."
"Even Ifa, that veterinarian, has a tiny bit of healing."
"So, Chuychu must also have healing capabilities."
A four-star Pyro healer.
And a Natlan native at that.
If Rios remembered correctly, Natlan had a Sacred Relic set that could increase all party members' Elemental Damage by 40%.
In terms of support potential, even if Chuychu herself was a completely useless waste, just by virtue of being from Natlan, she could give the entire team a 40% Elemental Damage boost.
"Thinking about it this way, when designing Chuychu, there's no need to specially add team damage buffs for her."
"Healing output and off-field Elemental application are all that's needed."
" Mihoyo won't have any objections to that."
A Pyro healer who can also apply elements off-field.
Rios immediately thought of Honkai: Star Rail, which was also developed by Mihoyo.
In that game, there was a female character named Ling Sha who perfectly matched the above requirements.
"They're from the same company—borrowing a little shouldn't be too much, right?"
And so, Rios took Ling Sha's skill mechanics from Honkai: Star Rail, converted them into Genshin's style, and applied them to Chuychu.
Name: Chuychu.
Vision: Pyro.
Rarity: Four-star.
Weapon: Catalyst.
Normal Attack: Nothing special.
Elemental Skill: Summons her own pet Qucusaur, which performs group attacks at intervals and restores HP to the entire party.
Elemental Burst: Enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state, dealing group damage to enemies, and continuously restores HP to the entire party until exiting the Nightsoul's Blessing state.
The Nightsoul's Blessing state is a unique state for Natlan characters; only when entering this state will Natlan characters trigger the 40% Elemental Damage bonus from the Sacred Relic set.
Talent 1: When a party member's HP decreases, Chuychu's Qucusaurus launches an attack, restoring healing to the entire party. This can trigger even if Chuychu's Qucusaurus is not on-field. It can only trigger once every 2 seconds.
Talent 2: Increases her healing based on Chuychu's Pyro DMG Bonus.
"What kind of monster have I created here?"
After designing Chuychu's C0, Rios realized that this character matched too perfectly with the current version's meta team, the Dragonlord team.
To put it without exaggeration, if Chuychu entered the gacha pool now, just by being able to seamlessly slot into the Dragonlord team to replace Baizhu, her Abyss usage rate would undoubtedly reach 80%.
"System, can we put Chuychu into the gacha pool now?" Rios asked.
This was the time when the Dragonlord team was at its peak popularity. If Chuychu could hitch a ride on the Dragonlord ship, she would definitely gain a lot of mood values.
But the only problem was that Chuychu was from Natlan—how could she enter Fontaine's gacha pool?
[…]
[We can arrange for Chuychu to enter the Fontaine gacha pool ahead of schedule.]
[But there is no related story content, nor matching Sacred Relics.]
After a moment of silence, the system gave its reply.
"That works too."
Although without the Brave Heart set, Chuychu's support capabilities would be greatly reduced.
But the Dragonlord team didn't lack damage buffs—it just lacked a healer who could easily sustain the entire team.
At this time, players were using Baizhu and Charlotte as full-team healers; the former was a five-star character that cost a lot of stones, while the latter had Elemental Burst startup and cycling issues.
Even if Chuychu wasn't fully complete right now, just with her Elemental Skill, Elemental Burst, and talents all providing full-team healing, she could compete with those two characters.
This was a jab from the future!

"No rush."
"Take it slow."
After learning that Chuychu could enter the Fontaine gacha pool, Rios's mood improved a lot. When designing her Constellations, he even started humming a tune.
But as soon as he thought about the reference Ling Sha's Constellations, Rios felt it wouldn't work—he couldn't borrow those.
Ling Sha's Constellations had many that related to Break Effect.
But Genshin didn't have Break Damage, so filling in Break Effect would not only be useless but also confuse players.
"Looks like it's up to my own creativity."
Constellation 1: When Chuychu's Qucusaurus completes an attack, Chuychu recovers 5 Energy. This effect can only trigger once every 2 seconds.
Although the game didn't have the Brave Heart set at this stage, Rios was already preparing for the future.
Chuychu entered the Nightsoul's Blessing state during her Elemental Burst, so she really needed to be able to cast her Burst in a timely manner.
Providing her with Energy recovery in the Constellation would greatly reduce Chuychu's ER pressure.
