Chapter 56 - Ch. 56: Yuuki Kagurazaka (2)

"Man, you know I really wished I could use magic, but it's like my body… When I transferred over to this world, I just stopped aging. Even worse, I didn't even get any special skills or anything, just a really strong body." Yuuki Kagurazaka lied a lot. With my Chaos Warrior skill, I could tell that he had the ability to render any of my Arts useless, unless I mixed them in with some sort of magic, be it spiritual or otherwise, and his body was beyond strong. It was evolved. Dude was trying to hide it, but he was way too strong to be bound by the physical limits of a human, and the way magicules seemed to 'run' from him simply screamed UNIQUE SKILL. I couldn't even analyze him because of that stupid skill.

But who cares? All of my simulations kept failing… I just couldn't figure out how to add multiple parameters to my magic circles. I would do it if it was the last thing I did, though.

As I did my simulations, Big Bro and Yuuki started talking. Big Bro joked about being an alien, Yuuki got mad, Yuuki asked Big Bro about our monster nation, still having troubles believing the monster part, and eventually Big Bro explained everything, from his otherworlder status to his knowledge of manga, to the fact that Big Bro didn't care for going back to Japan if it was a one-way ticket.

Yuuki also mentioned something that interested me, about the nature of this world, and otherworlders.

According to Yuuki, there were three types of worlds, or more like dimensions, out there. Physical, magical, and semi-physical. Earth, where Yuuki and Big Bro had come from, was a purely physical world. The world where spirits and demons tended to originate from was purely magical, which was why being in this world was a constant drain on them. Creating a magical corpus in a world where magic was effectively infinite was different from doing it in a world with a limited supply of the stuff.

Yuuki believed that, in order for someone to be transferred from a physical world to semi-physical world, their bodies needed to be broken down and remade from scratch.

Frankly, I disagreed, but I said nothing. I suspected that magicules were similar to a virus that responded to 'soul energy.' By going between worlds without a specified protective spell, entry and exit portals, a person got 'infected' with massive amounts of this energy. Enough to destroy the average soul.

So, if we had a way to designate exact coordinates for exit from this world and entry to another world, it should be possible to travel between. Magicules or lack thereof shouldn't have meant a thing in that respect.

As for the World Language, it was like… a program, embedded deep into the makeup of this world, creating certain laws based on predefined rules, likely with some sort of 'soul' like Izzy at the center of it all. Anywhere this world was connected to, even for a second, could receive data from and send data to the World Language.

I didn't particularly care about all of these abstract concepts yet, though. I couldn't interfere with any of it, and I couldn't check to see if it was true or not, so it didn't matter to me yet.

"So, Rimuru. If you're not here to try to get home, what brought you here?" Yuuki finally asked.

"I am home. This world, my friends, all I want, I have. But one thing's been bothering me lately. I can't just ignore it… Shizu's regret."

"The kids, I see… Makes sense, but Rimuru… if you want to help those kids, it won't be easy."

"I know, but…" Big Bro clenched his fist.

"You still want to try, huh? Well, if Shizu trusted you with it, then I'll trust that you're up for it." Yuuki replied.

"I also have a request." I finally spoke up.

"Alright. Let's hear it, then."

(Rimuru POV)

In the end, Yuuki set things up for both me and Risa. In a week, I'd become the replacement teacher for the kids that Shizu had once taught, while Yuuki had promised to help Risa choose targets for her training.

Next, all we had to do was part ways with Kabal, Elen, and Gido, who'd only gone to Englesia in the first place to guide me. Honestly, we owed them a lot, things wouldn't have gone nearly as smoothly if we hadn't had guides like these guys, and I felt it necessary to reward them for that.

At first, they complained about losing their rides. They'd expected to have to accompany us back to Tempest once we were done in Englesia, but teleportation circles made that point null and void.

Then, I gave them our parting gifts. Rewards for a job well done.

That included the special wagon that the dwarves had built for us, with a built in suspension system that made travel smoother (though we didn't give them the wolves that carried it) and a whole assortment of unique weapons made by Kurobe and Kaijin from Charybdis's scales.

"Oh, yes, yes!"

"See ya, Rimuru!"

"This dagger is awesome!""

And thus, the Three Fools left Englesia in high spirits, while Risa and I moved into the staff dorms.
