Luna said nothing. She didn't even look at me.
Daniel moved. He grabbed the suitcase beside her—the one she had arrived with—and shoved it toward me. It slid across the floor and came to a halt at my feet.
"We're not pursuing this further," he said, his tone flat and impatient. "But your actions constitute disturbing the peace. We could press charges for criminal trespassing at any moment. Take your things and get out."
One of the officers turned to me sharply. "You filed a false incident report, which constitutes misuse of emergency services. Since the parties involved are not pressing charges, we will not detain you at this time." The other added, even colder, "A warning flag has been added to your criminal record. Any further malicious disruption of public order will result in an immediate arrest. Do you understand?"
I didn't answer. The world before me was still swaying, with countless black, distorted lines weaving through the air as if the tapestry of reality were being unraveled inch by inch. A vast, hollow sense of disorientation washed over me; I barely knew how to move my own feet.
My mother's voice cut in immediately, dripping with unshielded disgust. "She's unstable, officers, you can see that. It's pure delusion. She's been here less than a month and started fantasizing that this was her own home—even lusting after my daughter's boyfriend. Absolutely shameless."
My father didn't look at me. "Take the suitcase," he said. "And leave. Don't embarrass yourself any further."
Someone took my arm. The grip was firm and professional. I was turned toward the door, and the suitcase was shoved out after me.
The door opened. I was forced into the hallway. The officers followed me out, giving a final verbal warning, but I couldn't process a single word.
The door closed behind me. Not slammed—just shut.
I stood in the hallway, Luna's suitcase at my feet and that humiliating 100-dollar bill clenched in my hand. The lights inside the apartment were still warm and golden; I could hear Daniel's voice inside, comforting "Evelyn."
I stood there, my mind a complete blank. It was only then that the total absurdity finally settled in—I had been erased.
I had no idea what was happening. None at all.
"…Evelyn?" A hesitant voice came from behind me.
I froze. Then, I turned.
