Chapter 6 - chapter-5 Take Naer home

chapter-5 Take Naer home

Just like that, Fang Yang led Na'er by her small hand and returned home.

The empty living room was quiet; his mother, Lin Ximeng, was still teaching at Hongshan Academy and hadn't returned yet.

"Na'er, this is our home," Fang Yang said softly.

Na'er stood timidly by the entrance, her large purple eyes anxiously surveying the unfamiliar environment.

"Are you hungry?" Fang Yang noticed Na'er's occasional glances towards the kitchen and the faint grumbling from her stomach.

He gently ruffled Na'er's silver hair: "Na'er, go sit on the sofa for a bit, Big Brother will make you something delicious."

Na'er nodded obediently and sat down on the living room sofa.

In the kitchen, Fang Yang stood on a small stool and skillfully tied on the floral apron his mother often used.

He first put a pot of water to boil, then took out fresh eggs and greens from the refrigerator.

The clanging of the spatula against the frying pan, accompanied by the sizzling of oil, quickly produced two perfect fried eggs.

The edges of the egg whites formed a golden lace, and the yolks trembled slightly under a thin membrane, maintaining a perfect runny center.

Meanwhile, the water in the pot was already boiling. Fang Yang added noodles, then the tender green vegetables.

The aroma of the food quickly filled the air, even attracting Na'er, who was sitting in the living room, to peek from behind the doorframe.

"It'll be ready soon," Fang Yang turned and smiled at Na'er, scooping the cooked noodles into a bowl, pouring in the broth, and finally placing the fried egg gently on top.

He carefully carried the bowl of noodles from the kitchen to the dining table in the living room, and thoughtfully pulled out a chair for Na'er: "Come, have a taste."

Na'er sat on the chair, staring at the steaming noodles before her and swallowing, but she hesitated to pick up her chopsticks.

Seeing this, Fang Yang put the chopsticks in her hand and said softly, "Na'er, don't be afraid. This is your home now. You can tell Big Brother anything you want to eat from now on."

Na'er carefully picked up a piece of egg, and the moment it entered her mouth, her purple eyes lit up.

She ate in small bites, but her speed gradually increased, clearly indicating she was starving.

As she ate, she occasionally stole glances at Fang Yang, who sat opposite her. Her eyes sparkled with complex emotions: gratitude, attachment, and a hint of something unidentifiable.

Just then, the sound of a key turning in the lock came from the door.

Na'er flinched in fright, and her chopsticks clattered onto the table. Fang Yang patted her small hand reassuringly: "Na'er, that's my mom coming home, don't be scared."

When Lin Ximeng pushed open the door, she saw this scene: her son gently wiping the mouth of a little girl with silver hair and purple eyes, with a half-eaten bowl of noodles on the dining table.

Her gaze swept back and forth between the two of them, finally settling on the girl.

"Yang, this is...?" Lin Ximeng's voice carried clear confusion.

"Mom, it's like this, on my way back, I met Na'er..."

Hearing his mother Lin Ximeng's question, Fang Yang also recounted Na'er's situation.

"What? You ran into hooligans?" Lin Ximeng's expression changed slightly. She quickly walked over and examined Fang Yang, from his arms to his back, fearing she might miss any potential injuries.

After confirming that Fang Yang was unharmed, Lin Ximeng finally let out a long sigh of relief, but her brows remained tightly furrowed: "You child, that was too dangerous! What if something had happened...?"

Her voice trembled slightly, and her lingering fear was evident.

"Mom, I'm fine, aren't I?" Fang Yang scratched his head and gave a smile to ease his mother's worries.

Lin Ximeng shook her head helplessly, then turned her attention to Na'er, who had been quietly eating her noodles.

Her voice was gentle: "Little girl, your name is Na'er, right? Can you tell Auntie where your family is?"

Na'er lowered her head, her silver bangs falling to cover her expression, and her voice was as faint as a mosquito: "I... I don't have any family."

This struck Lin Ximeng's heart like a heavy hammer!

"Then do you know your family's contact information? Or any other clues about your background that you can tell Auntie?" Lin Ximeng continued to ask in a gentle tone.

Na'er shook her head, this time not even speaking, just burying her small head even lower.

Seeing that she couldn't get any information, Lin Ximeng changed the subject: "Then, how old is Na'er this year? Surely you know that, don't you?"

She deliberately asked in a relaxed tone, hoping to make Na'er feel more at ease.

"Five and a half."

Na'er finally looked up this time, revealing a pair of clear, amethyst-like eyes, and her voice was crisp and pleasant.

"Five and a half?!" Lin Ximeng gasped, and a wave of heartache instantly surged within her.

Such a young girl, she wondered if she was lost or abandoned...

She controlled her emotions and reached out to gently stroke Na'er's soft silver hair: "You can stay here tonight. Tomorrow, Auntie will take you to the administrator's office to check if we can find your relatives."

Lin Ximeng noticed Na'er's dirty clothes and said softly: "Now, how about Auntie takes you for a warm bath? You'll feel much more comfortable after a bath and clean clothes."

Although she still had to teach at Hongshan Academy tomorrow, Lin Ximeng planned to take leave to help Na'er uncover her identity.

Na'er nodded obediently, and her small hand actively took Lin Ximeng's outstretched hand as they walked towards the bathroom.

He had only managed to 'trick' Na'er into coming home with great difficulty, so he definitely had to keep her. Otherwise, wouldn't it be returning to the fated arrangement, and she would be 'tricked' away by Tang Wulin again?

If Gu Yuena fell in love with Tang Wulin then, wouldn't he, Fang Yang, become a complete clown?

Tang Wulin, this person, has a correct worldview and excellent character, but his biological father, Tang San...

It's really hard to describe. Tang San would often say, "You have a path to death!"

Also, the Endless Fire Domain has Medicine Old Man, but Yu Xiaogang is not seen in the God Realm.

However, an Opportunity is inherently for those who are destined to receive it!

Fang Yang was silently pondering these thoughts, and not long after, Lin Ximeng emerged from the bathroom with Na'er.

When the refreshed Na'er appeared in the living room, Fang Yang couldn't help but widen his eyes and praised, "Na'er, you're really beautiful!"

Na'er was wearing Fang Yang's clothes; the oversized T-shirt hung like a dress down to her small knees, and the sleeves had to be rolled up several times to reveal her slender wrists.

Having just bathed, she exuded a faint scent of shower gel, her fair skin had a healthy pink flush, and her silver hair cascaded smoothly over her shoulders, shimmering with a pearl-like luster under the light.

Hearing Fang Yang's compliment, Na'er's pretty face flushed slightly, and she shyly hid behind Lin Ximeng.

His mother, Lin Ximeng, heard this and couldn't help but chuckle and shake her head: "Look at what you're saying, you've made Na'er embarrassed!"

Though she said this, Lin Ximeng's gaze towards Na'er was full of maternal affection. This little girl with silver hair and purple eyes was indeed adorable.

A thought flashed through her mind: if Na'er could become her daughter-in-law in the future, how wonderful that would be.

This thought made Lin Ximeng's gaze shift back and forth between the two children.

When she looked at Fang Yang, her eyes held a hint of expectation, hoping her son would know how to grasp this fate.

Lin Ximeng gently took Na'er's hand: "Na'er, Auntie will show you your room."

Na'er nodded obediently, and before leaving, she quietly looked back at Fang Yang once more.
