Chapter 111 - Chapter 111: Identity

Yago shut his eyes tightly, a rancid, rusty taste blooming in his mouth.

What had just happened was extremely shocking. Forget Levi and the others—even the prisoner Sannes himself was stunned. Yago had actually gotten Sannes's blood on himself and swallowed it. What kind of trick was this supposed to be?

But Yago paid no attention to anyone else's gaze.

He was gambling on his own ability.

The result did not disappoint him. The moment Sannes's blood entered his mouth, aside from the bloody taste, Yago immediately felt streams of memories flooding into his mind.

In fact, as long as Yago willed it, he could make those memories appear before his eyes, letting him browse through them like watching a movie.

And these memories came precisely from Sannes.

Ever since Yago had obtained the enhanced power of the Jaw Titan and viewed Ymir's memories, combining that with the process by which the Female Titan's power had once enhanced him, Yago had guessed that this might have something to do with his contact with Annie's and Ymir's blood.

Of course, this was only speculation. Yago had merely wanted to try it—and now it seemed that he really could see the memories of a blood's owner through that blood.

However, perhaps because Sannes was just an ordinary person, Yago did not feel any sense of enhancement. He simply saw Sannes's memories.

Yet what was in those memories still shocked Yago immensely.

Yago's tightly shut eyes suddenly opened. The first thing he saw were the varied looks on everyone's faces—curiosity, awkwardness, all kinds of expressions.

"Historia is the daughter of the noble Reiss family. The Reiss family is the true royal family. The royal family originally possessed the power of the Founding Titan. Now the Founding Titan's power is in Eren, and the royal family wants to reclaim it." Yago spoke, word by word, revealing the secret hidden in Sannes's memories.

"What?!" Everyone was utterly stunned.

Sannes's eyes bulged, his face twisted in fury.

"How is that possible?! How could you know that?! Impossible!"

Annie was even more shocked—the power of the Founding Titan was in Eren?!

The others did not understand what the Founding Titan represented, but what Yago had just said—that the Reiss family was the true royal family—

Someone asked with difficulty, "Yago, do you mean that the king in the capital…"

Yago nodded. "The king in the capital is a false king."

Hange muttered nonstop, "So that's how it is, so that's how it is… Everything lines up now! Erwin guessed right!"

Hange suddenly looked up at Yago and asked, pointing at the frenzied Sannes shouting that it was impossible,

"How did you find out?"

Yago said, "A small secret of Titan powers."

As he finished speaking, Yago could feel Hange's gaze suddenly become scorching.

"What a miraculous power," Hange said with a grin, staring at Yago.

Being looked at like that by Hange, Yago actually felt a chill run down his spine.

At that moment, Mikasa rushed up to Yago and asked anxiously,

"Then what about Eren? Yago, do you know where they took Eren?"

Yago nodded and said solemnly, "We must act as soon as possible. Eren and Historia should be taken to the Reiss family's territory!"

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's hurry and rescue Eren!"

"Right now the entire Trost District is under lockdown. There are many of us, which makes our target too large. And if the Reiss family is the royal family, the Military Police will definitely be guarding that place," Armin analyzed calmly.

Hange slammed the table and stood up.

"I need to pass this information to Erwin immediately. We need reinforcements! Moblit, we're returning to Stohess District right now."

Moblit: "Yes, Squad Leader Hange!"

Levi said nothing. At a time like this, they truly needed Erwin to command the overall situation.

"Be careful on the road."

"We also need to get close to the capital as soon as possible. Squad Leader Hange and Squad Leader Moblit can enter Wall Rose, but what about us?"

Because the Military Police had framed the Survey Corps for colluding with Titans, the entire Trost District was now under martial law. Sneaking out would not be easy.

Hange and the others would be fine—for now, they were openly Squad Leaders of the Survey Corps, and the Garrison should not dare arrest them casually, at least before the royal government issued an order.

But who could guarantee that the royal government would not use this excuse to control the entire Survey Corps? That was why Levi and the others had to move fast and begin their actions before the royal government could react.

"Maybe… someone can help us? Relying on their status and reputation in the Trost District," Yago's eyes flashed.

Levi said, "Who? Wait—you mean those two merchants?"

Levi reacted quickly and immediately realized whom Yago meant—the Reeves Company. Half of the credit for rebuilding the Trost District belonged to this company.

Although they had colluded with the Military Police to prepare to kidnap Eren and Historia, Levi knew Kenny well. Even if Chairman Reeves and his son cooperated with the Military Police and completed the mission, they would not get a good ending.

The moment the task was completed would be their end. Kenny would never leave alive anyone who knew the inside story.

No one understood Kenny better than Levi. He was a pure bastard and killer, a bottomless piece of human trash.

Kenny was extremely ruthless. He would not spare even the old, the weak, or children. He never left threats behind for himself.

Levi clenched his fists. The next time he met Kenny, he would never let him off easily—just like how Kenny had, without hesitation, thrown him into the filthy underground city back then and disappeared.

"Things are getting more and more complicated. The power of the Founding Titan is actually in Eren, and there's also Historia… All of this feels unreal," Yago said as he walked to the window and stared at the setting sun, his mind in turmoil.

Annie unknowingly came to Yago's side, accompanying him as she watched the sunset outside.

"Annie, you didn't expect things to become this complicated either, did you?"

Annie was silent for a moment, then said, "I didn't."

Yago turned around. There was no one nearby.

Yago bent down directly and hugged Annie, whispering by her ear,

"I'm sorry, Annie. Even though I really didn't want to drag you into this, I still have too many bonds on this island."

Annie raised her hands and returned Yago's embrace, hugging him back. Gently but firmly, she said,

"Yago, your bonds are my bonds. We'll face it together."

The sun, on the verge of setting, cast its final rays through the window. The afterglow of the sunset stretched the shadows of the two people embracing each other.
