"Whooa! You're so old and fat!" Nail and I both slapped Pepper upside the head for saying that the moment she laid eyes on the ancient Namekian, but Guru just chuckled.
"Come here, little restless one. Stand on my right side." He gestured to her. Pepper hesitated for a moment, but after a little push from me, she bounded right up to him, allowing him to rest his hand on her forehead.
"You have exceptional talent. In your trial, you successfully managed to overcome your natural lack of focus, however, that will always be your greatest flaw, my dear. I suggest you search for wisdom as you age by leaning into your natural strengths. If you do, you may have more potential than any I've ever laid eyes on." Guru told her, before unlocking her latent potential. Surprisingly, the moment he did, her aura surged, the strength boost far surpassing even mine, once you scaled it. She let out an awestruck sound as her energy leveled off to a resting power level around twice what mine had been before my own potential unlocking, so probably around between 40,000 and 60,000.
Next was Tater, who didn't need any prodding to switch with Pepper, who immediately flew outside to play with her new, overwhelming power.
"You have a strong, intelligent mind, child. In your trial, you overcame the rigid thinking that results from that inborn Saiyan arrogance of yours. Remember, strength is not only physical. The greatest predators are also the weakest. Have a flexible mind, and you will go far." Tater nodded in reply, even though he clearly didn't quite grasp what Guru was trying to tell him. The next moment, Guru unlocked his potential, and his power level soared to somewhere just over 10,000.
After Tater was Lynn. Guru's advice to her was different from his advice to Tater. "Powerful and kind, however you must remember, it is not your responsibility to carry the weight of the world on your own shoulders, and you cannot please everyone. In your trial, you needed to learn to ask for help. Remember the balance between pulling your own weight, and doing everything alone."
When Lynn's power got released, it soared to just a smidge below Tater's, still definitely above 10,000.
And finally, it was Tommy's turn. "Young man, you do have a gift. Never forget that, or allow your doubts to stall your progress. While your journey will likely be tougher than those of your peers, you are no less talented." Tommy nodded, remembering his trial, where he'd been forced to face the fact that he wasn't going to be as strong as his teammates, but that he had his own gifts to nurture instead.
His latent power, once released, was notably less than that of his siblings, but he still shot up fairly close-ish to the threshold of a power level of 10,000, and he seemed satisfied enough with that.
"I wish you all good fortune. Nail, bring the Dragon Balls outside and call the dragon for our young friends. They have more than earned it. Once the wish has been granted, call the village elders here."
"At once, Grand Elder."
…
My wish was simple. I didn't want to save my birth planet, or get stronger, or become immortal or eternally young.
I simply had all Saiyans, Celatus natives, and everything inside the Celatus Campsite on Namek transported to an uninhabited island on Earth that met certain specifications: Temperate climate, fertile land, and ample access to food and water.
As soon as Porunga granted the wish, all traces of foreigners on Namek instantly vanished in a burst of light, including my team, after which, Nail waved the dragon away and began carrying out the Grand Elder's other request, though he still didn't quite understand why it was necessary for him to gather the village elders, at Guru's, rather than simply returning the Dragon Balls to their respective homes.
"... I am sorry for what I must do, Nail, but with the future that boy has foreseen… I know that you will take care of my replacement with the same amount of love and care that you would have given me." Nail never heard Guru mutter this, as he gathered the village elders for the ancient Namekian's final meeting with his eldest, and wisest children.
