This time, the magic lesson ended in failure—
"I should be able to do it! Let me practice a few more days!"
Walking out behind Tike, Erza clenched her fists tightly behind his back.
"I can already feel the magic power in my body. It's an amazing feeling! Just give me a little more time, I'll definitely master Maker Magic!"
"But Big Sis Ultear and I learned it the same day Mom Ur taught us. Why can't you..."
"That's because you two are too smart! You're geniuses. I... I'm still far behind."
"Big Sis, you're not stupid either, and you're working very hard. If you didn't learn it immediately, there must be something wrong with my teaching method..."
Tike reflected seriously on his teaching method. He felt like he had missed some key information, but he couldn't recall it no matter how hard he tried.
However, during his deep contemplation, Tike suddenly thought of another possibility. He turned around, his eyes shining as he looked at Erza.
"Or maybe, Big Sis, there's a magic more suitable for you, a magic that belongs only to you!"
Erza was slightly stunned and asked puzzledly, "Magic more suitable for me? What does that mean?"
"Mom Ur once said that there are thousands of magics in this world. Everyone has their own unique magic attributes and physical characteristics, so the suitable magic naturally varies greatly. Maybe you can't learn Maker Magic because your magic attribute doesn't quite match it. It's not because you're stupid, Big Sis!"
"As for the magic I've mastered besides Maker Magic..."
Tike tilted his small head, tapping his chin with his finger, thinking seriously.
Moon Breathing?
No, no, that doesn't really count as magic. Besides, it's broad daylight; where would I get the moon? Pass on that for now.
After brief consideration, Tike made a decision.
"Hmm... let's test if your magic power has healing attributes first."
"Healing attributes?"
While Erza was still wondering what Tike meant by "healing attributes," she saw Tike suddenly bite down on his own arm!
"Hiss—!"
Bright red blood seeped from his arm, flowing slowly down his teeth and the corner of his mouth.
"What are you doing all of a sudden!"
Startled by Tike's sudden act of self-harm, Erza rushed forward, wanting to check his wound.
"Just preparing." Tike released his bite and extended his still-bleeding arm to Erza. "Come on, Big Sis, focus your attention, feel the magic power inside you, and try to guide it to flow toward my wound."
"You don't need to hurt yourself just to test magic!" Erza felt both pained and helpless.
Tike stuck out his tongue, looking at Erza with blue eyes misty from pain.
"I'll definitely be careful next time, I promise not to do such a silly thing again. But since I've already bitten myself, just try it, okay? Treat it as not wasting this opportunity, alright? Big Sis Erza~"
"...Alright."
Erza agreed helplessly. She tried hard to feel the magic power in her body and attempted to guide it toward Tike's injured arm.
After a short while, the wound on Tike's arm actually stopped bleeding and began to heal at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Seeing this, Erza revealed a surprised and happy smile: "I succeeded? I can really use Healing Magic?!"
"Um... Big Sis Erza, I might have to disappoint you." Seeing Erza's excitement, Tike withdrew his hand somewhat embarrassedly. "It wasn't your magic working; I just healed automatically."
"?"
Erza instantly felt like her efforts were in vain.
"Don't be discouraged, Big Sis Erza!" Seeing the disappointed expression on Erza's face, Tike quickly added, "Although Healing Magic might not be suitable for you, I just discovered that the nature of your magic power is a bit similar to my Space Magic. You should be more suited for this!"
So, Tike explained his understanding of Space Magic to Erza and even demonstrated it personally.
He waved his hand, opening a circular portal in mid-air. Through the small hole, they could see Alice taking care of the two little girls lying in bed.
Tike reached his hand into the small hole and stroked Alice from a distance, eliciting a dissatisfied meow from the mechanical cat before withdrawing his hand contentedly as the hole vanished.
Then, Tike picked up a withered tree branch from the ground and handed it to Erza.
"Here, Big Sis, now it's your turn to try! Use Space Magic to teleport this branch somewhere else, anywhere will do!"
Erza took the branch, feeling its rough texture against her fingertips. Mimicking Tike's actions just now, she imagined the branch traveling through space.
Suddenly, Erza felt her palm become empty. She snapped her eyes open and looked at her hand. The branch she had been holding was gone!
"Big Sis, you succeeded! Where did you send the branch? Tell me, tell me!"
Tike didn't sense any spatial magic fluctuations nearby, so he had absolutely no idea where that branch had been teleported.
Erza shook her head, indicating she didn't know either. She only felt the branch disappear from her hand; as for where it went, she had absolutely no concept.
Tike thought for a moment and suggested, "Big Sis Erza, how about you use that feeling just now and try using Space Magic on me?"
Hearing that she should use magic on Tike, Erza's eyes filled with hesitation.
"Use it on you? What if something goes wrong? I just learned it; I'm not very skilled yet..."
To dispel Erza's concerns, Tike immediately extended his hand. Light blue magical light flashed again, and in the blink of an eye, a small water bird flapping its wings appeared in his palm.
"Big Sis, use this little water bird as an experiment. It's a creation of my magic, so no matter where it gets sent, I can sense its approximate location."
Of course, only the location; everything else was unknown. Tike had once tried to use these magical creatures to extend his teleportation distance, only to accidentally end up in a women's bathhouse. If he hadn't run fast, he would have been manhandled by those strange adults. Just recalling it now made him uncomfortable.
So, since then, Tike had given up on using them as anchors for Space Magic.
Erza looked at the cute little water bird, hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded, agreeing to Tike's proposal.
She closed her eyes again, trying hard to recall the feeling of teleporting the branch just now. She attempted to focus her consciousness on the little water bird and guide the magic power within her.
But this time, she failed.
The little water bird didn't budge an inch, still flapping its wings in place, completely unaffected by any magic.
Unwilling to give up, Erza tried a few more times, but the result was the same. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't teleport it away.
Finally, she had to open her eyes helplessly, a frustrated expression on her face.
Watching Erza's repeated failed attempts, Tike rubbed his chin thoughtfully. Then, he pressed his palm against the ground and activated his magic.
"Demon Sword: Star-Shatterer!"
A burst of strange black light erupted from where his palm touched the ground. Before Erza's astonished eyes, Tike actually pulled out a black katana engraved with dragon patterns from the earth!
