"Boom!"
The violent explosion startled the quiet campus.
Along with the ground shaking, a gust of wind kicked up dust, and when the dust settled, five claw marks several meters long remained on the ground.
Su Jiu stared intently at the man with the tiger-face mask, his expression serious. With just a casual grab, one of their companions was instantly torn to pieces.
He was surprised, but even more afraid.
The three people standing beside the tiger-face masked man all wore masks. Yin Hu shook his crimson, blood-covered claws, and his unparalleled blade attacked Su Jiu's legs.
He was just about to use his defense and escape when a figure appeared behind him. A scythe, materialized from the figure's hand, moved like a snake around his neck, forming a black chain that immobilized him.
Two Third Ranks! Su Jiu was shocked. With his First Rank strength, he was no match for them, unable even to resist.
Then, his legs were sliced into bloody chunks, and he collapsed into a pool of blood.
"Where are those two girls? What is your purpose in coming here?"
The man wearing a black shadow mask stomped heavily on his abdomen.
Su Jiu groaned, closing his eyes. He was a Death Warrior of the Su family, having received military training since childhood. They wouldn't get anything out of him.
"Cough, cough..."
"Kill him. Wasting time on him is pointless!"
With those words, Yin Hu disappeared. His target was clear: he had to capture those two girls. Their two families had always been at odds, and since heaven had given them such a good opportunity, how could they let it go?
Building 9, Freshman Accounting Class 3
"Someone...killed someone...at the school gate..."
There weren't many people in the classroom. The doorway was blocked by a pile of desks and chairs, and the windows facing the corridor were plastered with used exam papers.
Chen Jun idly gazed out the window. They were in the furthest teaching building, on the third floor, with a wide view. Before the apocalypse, this building was far enough away that even the low-flying planes didn't affect it, and the glass hadn't been smashed.
They had avoided the blood rain and blood mist, but now their only problem was food.
"..."
"I'm… so hungry…" A girl, looking very haggard, was slumped on the table. Even speaking was difficult for her, as they hadn't eaten anything for two whole days.
If this continued, they would die of starvation, even if they weren't bitten by zombies outside.
"Shasha~" The sound of a packaging bag came from under a desk. Some sneaky people were monitoring each other, so even if they had private stashes, they wouldn't dare to flaunt them openly.
On the stage, the tall man with a gentle appearance forced a smile: "Hold on a little longer, the rescue team will be here soon."
He posted a plea for help in the comment sections of major websites, ending each one with an exclamation mark.
They could only get through this by concealing the truth. Once panic broke out internally, the consequences would be disastrous.
"Great, Wan'er woke up..."
In the corner, a girl hugged another sleepy-eyed girl, crying with joy.
"Nan Nan, be gentle..."
The girl being held had a cute, small nose, and her big, watery eyes looked around.
As a result, everyone was looking at her, their eyes filled with terror, confusion, and the act of swallowing saliva.
"Is there something on my face?" Xie Wan'er subconsciously touched her face. It was smooth and delicate, nothing out of the ordinary. She was considered well-known in school, the university's acknowledged School Beauty, after all.
Naturally, she attracted a lot of attention from passersby. Her classmates had been looking at her for months, so why were they still staring?
"Wan'er, you... you have a... a Lotus Flower on your forehead..." Xia Nan said, reaching out her hand to touch it, but it was stopped by a force in mid-air.
"Lotus Flower?" She quickly picked up the mirror from her desk. In the mirror, there was indeed a Lotus Flower on her forehead. She wasn't sure if it was a dream. She had just had a very long dream, where an old woman told her:
"The First Zero Era... open the primordial gate... find that person... you are a god! The supreme god, only he can help you restore your original power."
It was absurd. She didn't believe the dream, but seeing the Lotus Flower on her forehead in the mirror, she remembered the scenes from the dream. A beautiful ancient girl with nine blossoming Lotus Flowers carved between her eyebrows. In a mountainous environment, with clouds and mist, she waved her hand, and spring bloomed; with another wave, snow fell.
The scene shifted, and she was in a battlefield of ten thousand beasts. Strange races in armor, warriors riding flying dragons, land rhino chariots, and skeleton soldiers.
In the vast, empty canyon, she stood in the center of the battlefield, a mocking smile on her face. The sound of her laughter caused all the races to bow down in submission. At this moment, a voice came from the sky: "Little girl, this Sovereign's game battlefield is not a place for you to run wild!"
"Primal God Sovereign!" The girl in ancient attire raised her head, her eyes fixed on the giant figure projected in the sky, and endless hatred surged forth.
The scene shattered, and Xie Wan'er clutched her head, gasping for breath.
Who was that old woman? And who am I? Xie Wan'er was lost in confusion.
"Are you alright... Wan'er..." Xia Nan helped her up, concerned.
"What happened, Nan Nan? How long was I unconscious?"
"Two whole days..." Xia Nan wanted to conserve her energy, so she kept the explanation brief, including the fact that class monitor Huang Zitao had awakened an Ability.
"Ability?"
"He said it was Telekinesis, but he runs out of energy quickly. He's passed out on the table like a corpse..."
Actually, she, like everyone else, quite envied Huang Zitao. Some girls even declared their love on the spot, until Xie Wan'er woke up, at which point they knew their chances were probably gone.
After all, everyone in the class knew that Huang Zitao liked Xie Wan'er; it was just a matter of her agreeing for them to be together.
"Wan...er... you're awake..."
Huang Zitao, with his devoted nature, trotted over to greet her, a biscuit tucked in his pocket, which he hesitated to take out.
He now regretted showing off by levitating a few chairs. He was weak all over, and even after a nap, without food and water, it was difficult to recover.
That biscuit was Huang Zitao's last hope. He could endure it for his goddess. The sound of the packaging just now had come from his pocket, nearly giving him away.
"Mmm..."
She was both hungry and thirsty and didn't want to deal with anyone, wanting to see if there was anything to eat.
There were indeed a few bottles of Huang Haha water on the table. Her intuition told her that these were not beverages, but rather something left behind by the perpetrator.
