Chapter 18 - Crisis

"Damn it… it's all that big bad guy's fault." Su Duoduo bit her lip and instinctively took two steps back. Her mental energy was completely drained; forcibly using the Gate of Void would kill her!

[Sister, hurry and send someone to save me!]

[What's wrong?]

[There's no time to explain!]

The cries for help from her sister reached Su Momo, who was resting in Building Number One. She was startled and immediately asked, while issuing orders to Aunt Wu and Uncle Zhong.

In the vast Blood Mist, only Uncle Zhong's mind net could quickly distinguish directions.

"Duoduo… please don't get hurt…" Su Momo's tears welled up, and she closed her eyes to sense her sister's current state.

Thin Sun Palm Fire!

Ye Xin swung his sword qi, and two dragon-like flames attacked Zhao Ziming's back. Zhao Ziming also used his wings to fan out fireballs.

The two forces collided in the air, and the shockwave made a mess of the place, wasting a lot of food.

"Duoduo, now's your chance, run!"

Ye Xin shouted, but Su Duoduo didn't have much energy left; she was drenched in cold sweat after only taking two steps.

Zhao Ziming, who had heard the commotion, raised his hand towards the sky, and a burst of flames erupted from his hand, blasting through the ceiling. The scorching steel beams were still emitting waves of heat.

In a berserk state, Zhao Ziming's combat power exceeded two thousand points, and his strength showed signs of breaking through the Second Stage mid-stage.

What to do? He couldn't withstand that power at all. Even with his Golden Finger, he was getting beaten up by someone else, and not just one person.

Endless rage filled Ye Xin. On one hand, he hated his own incompetence, and on the other, he had let the little girl believe in him so much that she was risking her life.

"Duoduo, she can't be hurt!" This was Ye Xin's only thought, even if he had to throw himself into the fire to protect her.

Zhao Ziming clenched his fist, filled with flames, and threw a punch towards Su Duoduo's back. If it landed, she would surely die.

"Duoduo!" Su Momo sensed the scene and truly felt it. What was it like to watch her own sister die before her eyes, unable to do anything? She silently shed tears. But a figure saved her hope.

Bang! Su Duoduo thought she was finished, closed her eyes, and waited for death. But she didn't feel any pain, just a wetness on her cheek. She touched it with her small hand.

It was red, blood!

She slightly raised her head, and her pupils contracted. Her chest rose and fell rapidly. "Big bully!"

Ye Xin pursed his lips, wanting to say something, "Little silly girl... live..." He could only say a few words before blood sprayed from his mouth. The punch in his stomach, accompanied by flames, burned his internal organs.

It hurt, much more than jumping off a building, but at least it was better than being alone.

Why did I have to meet you... I clearly decided to be alone, to develop in secret, to escape, and to become the master of the universe.

Zhao Ziming withdrew his hand and stopped his actions. Ye Xin naturally slumped into Su Duoduo's arms, a smear of fresh blood staining her clothes.

Normally, she would have hated it to death and wanted to kill him.

Now, she didn't cry or make a fuss, just held him quietly.

"Why did you risk your life to save me... I was so mean to you, and bullied you, and had a bad temper. Talk to me!"

As she spoke, Su Duoduo was in tears, and her voice became choked with sobs: "Waa... You big bad guy, you haven't given me the antidote yet, I won't let you die... I don't want to be ugly."

Ye Xin didn't die, of course. The Wind Sword had healing abilities, and his life value was recovering, and the burnt flesh was also healing.

After dealing with Ye Xin, Zhao Ziming seemed to have lost his target, and searched for the next prey. The Blood Mist swallowed the three of them and was spreading towards Chou Lijie and the others.

"Master Chou, what are you waiting for? Run!"

The remaining man dragged the other two away, and they were several meters away when they saw Chou Lijie standing there, not moving.

Chou Lijie didn't leave. He sighed deeply, clenched the cleaver in his hand, and slashed at Zhao Ziming.

He didn't expect the other party to not fight back, letting the knife embed in his shoulder. Zhao Ziming looked at him with a puzzled expression.

"Ziming? Do you still remember me?"

Zhao Ziming tilted his head, reached out, grabbed the blade, and the flame enveloped it, melting it into liquid that dripped onto the ground, burning a hole.

"You must still remember, right!? I'm Uncle Chou, do you remember your birthday? You said it was your first birthday, and you always wanted a family. You have a necklace around your neck with our photo!"

It seemed there was a response. Zhao Ziming grabbed the necklace around his neck. There were two people in the photo frame: a mature man wearing a hat and smiling with him. Zhao Ziming's body trembled slightly, and the blood-red eyes gradually faded. He stared at the man in front of him and said, "Uncle Chou..."

"Hmm..." Chou Lijie was ecstatic, tears streaming down his face. He was unmarried and childless. His parents had passed away recently, and he and Ye Xin had a kinship of sorts. He looked at Su Duoduo and the others, who were already buried in the Blood Mist.

"Ziming, do you still have any strength? There are two people inside, go save them!"

"Strength?" Zhao Ziming shook his head. He'd just woken up to this scene. He was completely clueless about what had just happened.

Suddenly, two figures appeared before them.

Aunt Wu, holding one person in each hand, questioned, "What happened here, speak!"

"Ask later. The Second Miss's aura is weak inside the Blood Mist, hurry and save her."

With Uncle Zhong's reminder, Aunt Wu flashed inside. Because the kitchen had walls blocking the way, even if she went in alone, she wouldn't lose her direction. She vaguely saw two figures; Su Duoduo was holding a guy.

"This is?" Aunt Wu naturally recognized this guy; it was the one who had started to kidnap the Second Miss. Why was Duoduo hugging him? Aunt Wu walked in front of her and whispered, "Duoduo, Aunt Wu is late. This subordinate deserves to die!"

Blood Mist has an effect on Awakened ones, consuming their mental and physical strength until death. Su Duoduo glanced at Aunt Wu, who nodded woodenly, "Take the big bad guy back."

"He seems to be dead..." Aunt Wu casually checked and found no signs of life. Moreover, with such a large hole in his abdomen, he wouldn't become a zombie.

"He's not dead!"

Seeing her young miss being so willful, she didn't say anything and quickly left with the two of them.

During this time, Su Duoduo's small hand kept tightly gripping the bandaged arm.
