Chapter 17 - Chapter [17] Store Reputation

A/N: Small Patch.

---

Raeshan lifted his eyes from the system window and looked at Eva.

"I'm out of stock," he said honestly. "I only have the first three volumes for now."

Eva's brows drew together.

"Out of stock?" she repeated, clearly dissatisfied.

She had not expected that answer. After everything she had just felt, stopping here was unbearable.

Raeshan noticed her reaction. He hesitated briefly, then spoke again.

"But I can restock," he added.

That caught her attention.

"How long?" Eva asked.

Raeshan paused. He could not tell her the truth, so he chose his words carefully.

"Not long," he said. "A few days at most."

Eva studied his face, as if trying to read something from it. He looked calm, almost casual.

"Fine," she said at last. "I'll come back."

She turned and walked toward the exit.

The moment she stepped outside, the noise of Dungeon Town swallowed her presence.

Raeshan kept his eyes on the door for a few seconds after it closed.

Then the system voice echoed again.

Ding.

[Eva Everhart received a slight increase in Pure Mana within her core. Breakthrough chance increased by 25%.]

+350 System Points

Raeshan's smile slowly widened.

He had been thinking about how he would earn more System Points when the system suddenly flooded him with a huge amount.

That customer gave me this much SP…

He let out a quiet breath.

I should be more humble with her.

He glanced outside. It was already night. The sun had set hours ago, and the street was wrapped in darkness.

"Gurr… gurr."

His stomach growled. He had not eaten for hours. Only now did he finally have time.

He stood up and decided to close the store.

As he locked the door, a cold, mechanical voice echoed inside his mind.

Ding.

+20 Store Reputation

"...Huh?"

Raeshan froze, completely caught off guard by the sudden notification.

Frowning, he opened the system's mission interface.

Ding.

Raeshan stared at the floating window. Slowly, a smile formed on his face.

The second mission is almost done.

And the first one isn't bad either. It's only the first day. I still have time.

But one question lingered in his mind.

How did I suddenly get so many reputation points?

Still thinking about it, Raeshan locked the door and started walking toward the Rabbit Moon Tavern, his thoughts tangled as the night air brushed against his face.

On the other side of Dungeon Town.

A crowded tavern was filled with low-rank adventurers. It was popular because the food and drinks were cheap.

Inside, in a dark corner, a group of adventurers sat together, talking while eating roasted chicken.

"Ahhh, the drinks here are good as always."

A burly man shouted as he gulped down a jar of alcohol.

"After fighting all day, being able to eat and drink properly makes it worth it."

The speaker was a beautiful woman wearing mage robes, chewing on a piece of meat.

"I heard the food at Rabbit Moon Tavern and All-Star Tavern is the best."

A young man in knight armor spoke while drinking.

"So what if it tastes good? We can't afford those places."

A slim young woman replied while eating.

"This tavern is cheap and filling. That's enough."

She was none other than Rin from Elina's party.

"Did you hear about the Goblin Hole dungeon?"

The burly man lowered his voice.

The table went quiet for a moment.

"What about it?" the knight asked.

"They say it's acting strange. Way more goblins than usual."

The mage frowned. "That place was supposed to be a beginner dungeon."

"Yeah, but yesterday three low-rank parties went in. Only one came back."

The air around the table grew heavy.

"I also heard there's a Goblin Leader now," the burly man continued. "Not a normal one. Elite one bigger, Smarter."

Rin stopped eating.

"Goblin Hole…?"

"They say the goblins are working together. Traps, ambushes, even stolen weapons."

The knight clicked his tongue. "If that's true, the guild should've closed it."

"The guild knows," the burly man said. "They're just waiting for a party to take the job."

Rin looked down at her food. The tavern remained loud and chaotic, but the words stayed in her mind.

Goblin Hole dungeon.

Something about it did not feel right.

Elina had said they were planning to challenge that dungeon a few days ago. But then Kai's sudden breakthrough and that mysterious store made them forget about it.

Thank god they forgot. Otherwise, they would have been in serious trouble.

While Rin was thinking about this, a sweat appeared on her face.

One of the adventurers noticed and asked, "Are you okay?"

Rin snapped out of her thoughts.

"I'm fine," she said.

"Oh, that's good."

"Did you guys know there's a mystical store that appeared in Dungeon Town?"

Rin spoke again, causing everyone at the table to look confused.

"Mystical store?"

"I haven't heard of anything like that."

"What kind of store is it?"

Hearing their questions, Rin replied.

"It's a strange store run by a mysterious expert. It opened in the outskirts of the outer ring."

Her companions leaned in, waiting for her to continue.

"The store owner sells something called manga. If you read it, you can learn skills instantly."

One of them, Harald, frowned.

"That sounds like a rumor. I've never heard of a book that can teach skills instantly."

"I thought so too," Rin said. "But I saw it with my own eyes."

She began telling them how Kai and Elina had broken through after reading manga.

Her companions listened quietly. Doubt appeared on their faces at first.

But if one looked closely, curiosity was slowly beginning to form in their eyes.
