Chapter 4 - Chapter [4] First Mission

Raeshan was still smiling when the system's mechanical voice echoed inside his head once more.

[Host has sold the first manga]

He blinked.

"…Huh?"

Before he could react, a transparent window popped up in front of him.

[Congratulations, Host, for completing the achievement: "First Manga Seller"]

Ding~

[Rewards calculated]

Common-Grade Lottery Ticket x1

5 Gold Coins

+20 SP

Raeshan froze on the spot.

He stared at the floating window as if it might vanish at any moment.

"…Achievement? First Manga Seller?"

For a few seconds, his mind went completely blank.

Then his eyes slowly moved down to the rewards.

A lottery ticket.

Five gold coins.

And SP.

His breathing unconsciously slowed.

"Wait… five gold coins?"

He swallowed.

"In silver, that's… five hundred silver coins."

The realization hit him like a hammer.

The next second, laughter burst out of him.

"I'm rich! Hahaha!"

He leaned back against the counter, still laughing, unable to stop himself. Just two weeks ago, he had been worrying about starving to death. Now he had enough money to live comfortably for a long time.

His thoughts immediately drifted to a certain place.

A noisy tavern filled with adventurers. The smell of roasted meat in the air. Thick stew served in wooden bowls.

"…I'm definitely going there tonight."

Just as he was savoring the thought, the system's voice interrupted again.

[First Mission: Sell manga to a teen customer within one week]

[Mission Reward: Promotion to Tier-1]

[Second Mission: Increase store reputation to Level 1 within one week]

[Mission Reward: Uncommon-Grade Lottery Ticket x1]

Raeshan straightened up.

"Missions?"

At first, he frowned slightly while reading the conditions. But when his eyes reached the rewards, his expression changed completely.

A slow, excited grin spread across his face.

Tier-1.

That meant he would officially step into the ranks of low-grade, early-stage adventurers.

In a world filled with dungeons, ancient ruins, monsters, and endless danger, being an adventurer was not just about fighting. It meant status, income, connections, and survival.

Even if he started at the very bottom, becoming an adventurer would open countless doors.

The second mission reward was just as tempting.

An Uncommon-Grade Lottery Ticket.

Better lottery meant better rewards. Maybe higher-grade manga. Maybe something even more unbelievable.

"Hehehe…"

Raeshan couldn't help but chuckle.

"Today really is my lucky day."

Right on cue, his stomach growled loudly.

"Grrr."

The sound echoed clearly inside the quiet store.

Raeshan sighed and rubbed his belly.

"Yeah, yeah. I hear you."

Standing up, he walked to the door, flipped the sign to CLOSED, and locked the glass door.

With five gold coins safely stored away and a light spring in his step, Raeshan headed toward Dungeon Town's most popular tavern.

Tonight, for the first time since arriving in this world, he was finally going to eat like a proper human.

On the other side of Dungeon Town stood a large medieval-style building.

It was a well-known inn famous for its cheap rent, making it extremely popular among low-grade adventurers.

Inside one of the rooms, a beautiful young woman wearing a mage's robe sat cross-legged on the bed. Her eyes were closed as she focused deeply, trying to gather mana within her body.

She was attempting to break through from low-grade late stage to mid-grade early stage mage.

But it had been months.

No matter how hard she tried, she could not cross that barrier.

Her breathing slowly became unstable. The flow of mana scattered, and she opened her eyes with a tired sigh.

"…Still no progress."

Her name was Elina.

She didn't know when she would finally break through. Without advancing her cultivation, earning more money would be impossible. To do that, she would have to challenge more dangerous dungeons.

But with their current strength…

She and her brother would only become monster food.

Just then, the door to her room suddenly opened, and a young man rushed inside.

It was Kai.

Seeing her younger brother so energetic, Elina immediately felt a headache coming on.

"Didn't I tell you not to enter a woman's room without permission?" she snapped, already preparing to lecture him.

"Sister! I'm going to break through to low-grade mid stage!"

Kai's excited words cut her off midway.

"…Huh?"

Elina stared at him.

"You broke through to low-grade early-stage swordsman not long ago, and now you're saying you'll reach mid stage?" she said coldly. "Are you joking?"

She was furious.

Her brother's talent was not particularly good. Hearing him say something so ridiculous irritated her.

"Sister, listen! It's true!" Kai said quickly. "My bottleneck is gone! With some effort, I can definitely break through. Hahaha!"

He laughed happily, unable to hide his excitement.

Seeing that her brother didn't seem to be lying, Elina's expression slowly softened.

"…What happened?" she asked. "Did you encounter some kind of good fortune?"

Hearing his sister's question, Kai didn't hide anything.

He told her everything.

How he had been wandering around when it suddenly started raining.

How he found a mysterious store he had never seen before.

How the store owner's aura nearly made him wet his pants.

How he bought an illustrated art book for five silver coins.

And how, while reading it, his bottleneck suddenly loosened.

Kai finished by saying, "Sister, I think that store owner is a hidden big shot."

At first, Elina was curious.

But when she heard that her idiot brother spent five silver coins on a mortal book, she almost wanted to bite him for wasting money.

However, after listening to the full story, her expression turned serious.

If this was a scam, it was too strange.

And if the store owner was truly a hidden expert…

Elina snorted softly.

"Tomorrow," she said coldly, "I will visit that store myself."

"I'll uncover the truth."
