Chapter 120 - Chapter 117 Gengar: It's haunted!! No, I'm a ghost too~

Soon, Bai Yu came out of the kitchen and brought out the prepared Pokémon food.

Of course, Electivire also squeezed into the kitchen to help carry it out. Aggron also wanted to go in, but its size was too big compared to Electivire.

The kitchen was only so big, and it couldn't fit these two big guys.

  "Meow~"

Litten meowed, drooping its tail, looking up at the food being carried over. Litten, still wanting to act cute, ran up without thinking much.

Energy Cubes supplement daily nutritional needs. In theory, Pokémon like Litten and Vulpix only need to eat one Energy Cube to sustain their nutrition for a whole day.

They don't need to consume more food at all. These two... no, these three basic forms of Pokémon consume no less food than Aggron.

These little guys don't seem to have grown much. Compared to when they first met, they have become much fatter, most obviously in Vulpix's belly.

All they do is eat and sleep all day, never exercising. They don't look like the main players of the Snow Team at all. How can they possibly beat Lance in this state?

Try to outdo Lance with cuteness?

In Bai Yu's memory, Lance dislikes all Pokémon except Dragon-type. He doesn't even like Pokémon like Vulpix or Mew.

He only loves Dragons and is determined to lead his Dragon army to the world and win the Pokémon Masters Tournament.

"Don't eat so fast, be careful not to choke."

Bai Yu looked at the food that had been brought out; the three little creatures were eating faster than anyone else.

Dratini devoured Pokémon food one bite at a time, without hesitation. Bai Yu reached out and stroked Dratini's little head. This little guy would definitely be a great main player when he grew up.

After all, it's a Dragonite, a pseudo-legendary Pokémon from the Kanto Region.

  "Goo~"

Dratini enjoyed Bai Yu's stroke, letting out a comfortable groan.

A small head with big ambitions; who knows how far this little guy will grow in the future.

Bai Yu looked at Beldum and Bellatrix not far away. Beldum was naturally the Pokémon Athena had given to Bai Yu earlier. Beldum didn't eat much, about half the amount of Dratini.

It only needed to eat some iron-rich ores, similar to Aggron's diet; one Energy Cube could keep Beldum from eating anything else for a whole day.

As for Bellatrix, perhaps because it wasn't fully developed, it looked smaller than a normal Bellatrix, even its Energy Cubes were smaller than those of a normal Pokémon.

"Little Bai, don't you think Bellatrix is too small?"

Sabrina walked forward, stroking Bellatrix's little head.

She wondered if this size of Bellatrix would cause any problems for its future evolution.

If a Pokémon's size is below the normal standard, it will have a significant impact on its talent, strength, growth, etc. The size of this Bellatrix was rare even within Team Rocket.

Team Rocket mainly sold Pokémon, and they would carefully raise pseudo-legendary babies like this. Bellatrix's condition was rare even within Team Rocket.

  "It's a bit small."

Bai Yu got up and walked to Sabrina's side, looking at the baby dragon.

The pseudo-legendary cub provided by the League was not fully developed, and he didn't know how the League got it. It

was even worse than the Iron Dumbbell he had snatched. It looked like it had just hatched from its egg and hadn't even eaten the shell before being sent over. It was malnourished and underdeveloped.

"Sigh~ I don't know what the League is thinking. If they don't want to give it to a pseudo-legendary, there's no need to give it to a pseudo-legendary from another region. The ordinary wild Pokémon are all in better condition than the Bellatrix that was just delivered."

Sabrina sighed, she didn't know what the League was thinking.

Giving away a pseudo-legendary was just a nice way of putting it.

"It won't have too much of an impact. Being small has its advantages."

Bai Yu didn't take it to heart, touching Bellatrix's little hand. Bellatrix put down its food and placed its little hand in Bai Yu's palm.

  "Roar~"

Bellatrix growled softly, but its face was full of smiles.

The majesty that Dragon-type Pokémon should have was nowhere to be seen on Bellatrix's face.

Sometimes Bai Yu was quite curious why pseudo-legendary Pokémon became quiet after entering his hands, while the others who joined his team only knew how to fight all day long.

Especially that Aggron, it had been belligerent since the Aggron era and was still like that now. It seemed he needed to find a way to go to the Hoenn region.

"Find Steven and see if he has a Mega Key Stone for Aggron.

Mega Aggron's physical defense is top-tier among Pokémon across all generations, with 230 defense and 140 attack, making its otherwise impressive special defense seem insignificant.

The only weakness of this form is its low HP; it can't withstand many attacks from super effective special moves, which doesn't match its imposing appearance.

" "Hopefully. You should really focus on training these little guys."

"At least I didn't train them like Electivire."

Sabrina glanced at Electivire; the little guy was quite cute before, but now it's become so competitive, only caring about increasing its strength.

"These little guys will grow stronger."

"I don't want to see them become stronger now."

Before and after evolution, Pokémon's emotions change. Some obedient Pokémon become disobedient and drastically change their personalities after evolution, completely disregarding their trainers.

Ash's Charizard is a typical example; it's smaller than a typical Charizard and couldn't even beat a female Charizard, but it still grew stronger.

Larger Pokémon have an advantage, but smaller ones also have their advantages.

Both are relative. Bai Yu only hoped his Pokémon would grow up healthy and strong; he didn't think much beyond that.

"Yeah, it won't be cute anymore when it grows up,"

  Sabrina nodded,

her heart still racing at the thought of Electabuzz becoming Electivire. After all, Electabuzz was a Pokémon she chose from Team Rocket for Bai Yu, naturally one she liked.

She never expected it to become so stupid after growing up, only knowing how to train.

  "Yeah. That Litten too,"

Bai Yu emphasized Litten, which he had recently been training in the games.

He relied on Litten to fight against weaker trainers.

The level was nearing that critical point; soon the adorable kitten would disappear, replaced by the game's strongest Fire-type starter, Incineroar.

Bai Yu and Sabrina chatted and laughed, while the Pokémon ate their delicious food.

The clutter in the gym's backyard was mostly cleared away.

In the shadows, a jet-black Pokémon watched Bai Yu, scanning the Pokémon in the backyard with a strange expression. It stealthily extended a small hand from the depths of the shadows,

grabbed Gengar's Pokémon food, and slowly slipped into the shadows, as if nothing had happened. Only Gengar noticed the anomaly.

  "Giggle~"

Gengar watched as a small piece of food disappeared from its bowl.

It couldn't possibly have mistaken that scene.

Gengar, still unconvinced, kept checking the food in its bowl, checking several times. Finding it was almost the same as before, it looked puzzled, waved its hand, and continued eating its Pokémon food.

Gengar's gaze remained fixed on Bai Yu. Gengar was quite clingy, but its clinginess wasn't in everyday life; it manifested itself when sleeping, always silently escaping from its Poké Ball to hide on

Bai Yu's bed. Bai Yu, however, spent every night playing the game and didn't pay attention to Gengar. Only when Bai Yu brought Gengar into the game did this happen.

  "Hehehe~" Gengar

grinned, eating Pokémon food one after another. After a short while, it touched the bowl again, only to find it empty.

  "Hehe! Hehe!!!"

Gengar picked up the bowl from the ground, frantically searching for its food, its face filled with panic. Gengar had no idea what had happened.

It clearly saw so much food just now; how could it have been eaten all at once?

Could it have encountered a ghost?!

The thought flashed through Gengar's mind, but it quickly dismissed it. It was a ghost, after all; surely something invisible couldn't possibly appear and eat all its food.

  "

  Seriously..."

Gengar swallowed hard, more panicked than expected. It grabbed its bowl and ran towards Bai Yu, its short legs bursting with astonishing speed. It

disappeared directly into Bai Yu's shadow, leaving only the bowl behind. Bai Yu turned around and saw a pair of eyes in his shadow. He reached out and gently tapped the shadow.

From within the shadow, Gengar's little hand covered the spot Bai Yu had tapped, slowly rising up with a pitiful expression.

"You idiot, don't hide in my shadow all the time."

  "Nothing serious happened,"

Bai Yu said irritably, flicking Gengar's little head.

Gengar, still looking aggrieved, vanished into the shadow, this time without even its eyes showing.

"This idiot…" Bai Yu waved his hand, took out a Ghost-type Energy Cube, placed it on his shadow, and turned to look at Sabrina.

A moment later, a small hand appeared in the shadow, quickly taking the Energy Cube away, and a pair of eyes appeared on the shadow as well.

  "Hehe~"

  (^▽^)

"You don't need to put Gengar there for meals every time. I don't dislike it."

Sabrina looked at Bai Yu, thought for a moment, and then spoke her mind.

Sabrina was born with psychic powers; essentially, she was a Psychic-type Pokémon. It was common knowledge that Psychic types disliked Ghost and Dark types.

Compared to Dark, Sabrina could accept Ghost types, and besides, Gengar's type was Ghost and Poison, and Psychic types were effective against Poison.

Sabrina wouldn't be too opposed to it. Furthermore, Gengar liked to make funny faces, and Sabrina liked this seemingly goofy guy; at least it was much more pleasing to the eye than Pokémon like Electivire.

"You think I made it go?" Bai Yu said helplessly. "That idiot, it just likes to hide in the dark."

Gengar has a bad habit of eating in the dark. He didn't know if it was his Gengar or other trainers' Gengars who had this habit.

If there was no darkness, it would hide in the shadows. Perhaps for Gengar, the shadow was its favorite habitat.

  "Hehe~"

Gengar poked its little head out and made a face at Sabrina.

Seeing this, Sabrina couldn't help but laugh, her previous icy expression completely gone.

At the spot where Gengar had been eating, a Pokémon quietly appeared. Its figure blended perfectly into the night. Its eyes blinked as it looked at Bai Yu.

It still held the food from Gengar's bowl. It was very interested in these things. It quietly slipped into the shadows and took out a feather.

A multicolored feather, radiating an extraordinary power. After the little hand placed the feather on the spot, its figure disappeared silently, as if it had never been there at all.

The receptionist rushed up, leaning against the wall, panting and trying to catch her breath. She said, "Gym Leader, that...that Lance is here to see you again."

"I think he wanted to give you some Pokémon...I forgot."

Bai Yu thought for a moment, guessing Lance's purpose.

He still owed him a Larvitar, the perfect weather setter for a Sandstorm team.

After training Larvitar in the game for a while, it would evolve into Tyranitar, completing the Sandstorm team. He wondered what Larvitar's ability would be.

"As long as it's not a hidden ability, it will definitely learn Sand Stream in its next evolution,"

Bai Yu muttered. If Larvitar had a hidden ability, it would inherit it in its next evolution, becoming Stress, which would be useless to Bai Yu.

It could only be trained as a normal offensive Pokémon. Stress would render the opponent's berries ineffective; in reality, berries are used to make Pokémon food.

Who would carry berries around? Stress is arguably the most useless ability in reality.

"Hurry up and go, I can handle these."

Sabrina knew Lance had come to deliver a Pokémon, a pseudo-legendary Pokémon from the Johto region.

She wondered how the Pokémon compared to Bellatrix. She didn't want another underdeveloped Pokémon; as an important figure in both leagues,

Lance wouldn't do something so foolish, at least that's Sabrina's opinion.

"Okay, thank you, Sabrina." Bai Yu nodded and followed the receptionist.

Sabrina looked around, a little wistful.

Bai Yu had so many Pokémon now, some from other regions. She wondered how he managed to acquire them.

Especially that Toxapex, a Totem-level Pokémon; even in Alola, you couldn't find a Toxapex of the same size, and it was perfectly trained.

  "Goblin~"

Gengar didn't follow Bai Yu. After he left, it burst out of Sabrina's shadow, appearing before her in an instant, making faces and sticking out its tongue.

  "You really are an idiot."

Sabrina reached out and tapped Gengar on the head.

Just like Bai Yu said, Gengar was an absolute idiot.

  "Giggle~"

Gengar covered its head, lowered its head, and stuck out its tongue. Sabrina and Bai Yu's taps were very light; what bad intentions could Gengar have? It just wanted to eat more Energy Cubes and show off more in front of Bai Yu.

  "Roar~"

Dratini was attracted by a rainbow light.

Having just finished eating and wanting to sleep, it unconsciously moved towards the light.
