"Hey bro, do you know Toxapex?"
"What? You don't even know Toxapex? Let me tell you about the match at the Martha Gym. Our city's Gym Leader used Toxapex to utterly defeat Hoenn Elite Four member, Kagetsu."
"What?! You don't even know the Martha Gym? Open your Pokédex and look! It's all over the news. Countless people are flying to Alola to catch Toxapex."
A middle-aged man holding a plane ticket looked at the man in disbelief.
He was wearing a stylish brown jacket, had a good appearance, and didn't seem like an ordinary trainer. He also had a strong presence. He
didn't even know the Martha Gym? It was a wonder how he managed to survive in the Kanto region.
You see, yesterday's match was recorded and posted on the Pokédex by someone, and the number of views skyrocketed. All the trainers who watched the match that day bought plane tickets to Alola for a vacation.
They also wanted to try and capture Toxapex, which only appears in Alola. They were all putting in a lot of effort for the Indigo League, and they wanted to try out such a brilliant tactic.
"Toxapex? What kind of Pokémon is that... The Kanto region seems really strange."
The man in the jacket frowned. He took out his Pokédex, which was different from the others'. His Pokédex had a red and white ball symbol on the back and a special symbol in the middle.
Clearly, his identity was not as simple as it seemed. The man in the jacket also transferred the Pokédex information to Kanto and saw the video coming from Kanto.
"That Pokémon is Toxapex? Such a... sunny Pokémon." The man in the jacket's lips twitched. He had rarely seen this kind of tactic, even after traveling to so many regions.
Especially that Toxapex, he had never seen it before, and he had never been to Alola. After all, Alola had never committed any crimes or had any major criminals.
"If it weren't for the major incident in Goldenrod City, I wouldn't have come all the way from Sinnoh."
"This trainer is quite interesting; he even beat the Hoenn Elite Four."
The man in the jacket shook his head, looking up at the once iconic Silph Corporation headquarters building, now a dilapidated structure. Many Machamp could be seen repairing it.
The commercial street wasn't severely damaged; it had been restored to normal operation in the short time it had been running, though traces of the explosion were still visible on the shops.
Team Rocket, a notorious evil organization, had committed such a horrific act. As an international police officer, it was natural to investigate the mastermind behind Team Rocket and bring them to justice.
Meanwhile, the Alola League, has been hastily formed.
They sensed that there were far more trainers arriving for vacation than usual, all clamoring to catch Toxapex, and more than one had asked Nurse Joy about it. The
temporary League was composed entirely of trainers from Kukuira.
As for the overall structure of the League, the funding needed for its construction, and the preparation of the starter Pokémon, all of these were devised by Lusamine, the chairperson of the Aether Foundation.
Regarding the combat strength needed to build the League, Kukui traveled to various islands and invited the island kings, forming the Elite Four—the strongest forces in the Alola region.
Outside the islands, Kukui was intended to become the League Champion, but he is currently busy with League preparations, Pokémon registration, and the construction of the Alola Pokédex.
This has been temporarily put on hold until the Alola League receives recognition from the Pokémon Association, at which point a proper League Tournament will be held to select a suitable Trainer to become the League Champion.
The Alola League's temporary headquarters.
The island kings—
no, they should be called the current Elite Four of the Alola region—gathered together.
Establishing a league was no simple matter. The Alola Elite Four's overall strength was slightly inferior, but thanks to Lusamine's efforts, at least the league's legitimacy was guaranteed.
"I think everyone has seen that the number of people entering Alola today is more than double what it used to be, and they all have the same goal: to capture Toxapex."
In the league meeting room, Lusamine sat in the Champion's seat. Currently, Alola has no confirmed Champion, and Lusamine has been a great help, essentially acting as the head of a Pokémon association in another region.
The Aether Foundation, established by Lusamine, has greatly aided Alola's development. Without the Aether Foundation, Alola would just be a few small islands inhabited by natives.
It would never have developed into the world-renowned resort destination it is today.
She finished speaking, holding a mug full of coffee.
A hint of amusement flickered in her eyes as Lusamine took a small sip of coffee, glancing at the hastily assembled Elite Four. She wondered about the strength of these trainers recruited by Kukui.
"I've looked into it. Most of the trainers who arrived in Alola today are from Kanto. I've asked around, and it seems to be because of a video."
As the only male among the Elite Four, and a middle-aged man over sixty, Hala had inquired with the tourists before the gathering.
The clues all pointed to a Kanto Gym Leader—a mere Gym Leader, yet wielding such influence to attract so many tourists to Alola.
"I've seen the video. He was fighting an Elite Four member; he's very strong."
A silver-haired woman wearing a golf hat, her eyes cool and aloof, her fair face showing interest, was clearly intrigued by the trainer.
"Even you think Kahili is strong, it seems a new monster has appeared in Kanto."
With long, jet-black hair, dressed somewhat lightly, and possessing dark skin, Olivia, after hearing Kahili's evaluation of the battle in the video, also became quite interested in it.
Her mention of a monster was naturally due to Lance's performance in the Pokémon Master Tournament. It was Lance's first time participating in such a competition, and he displayed immense strength.
Such strength, merely ranking first among the Kanto Elite Four, not the champion, was enough to prove how powerful the Kanto region was, far surpassing their hastily formed League.
"This is a good thing for Alola,"
Lusamine said softly, placing her coffee on the table.
Alola wouldn't suffer any losses; on the contrary, it would promote Alola's ecological and economic growth.
Lusamine was also curious: who was the trainer who used Toxapex?
When did he come to the Alola region to capture Toxapex? Such an interesting trainer, yet just a minor Gym Leader... the Kanto League... Team Rocket... this is getting more and more interesting.
Lusamine smiled, secretly planning something. Whether the League was formed or not wouldn't affect her future plans; the only variable was her daughter, Lillie.
...
Kanto Region.
Macha City, Macha Gym.
Yesterday's matches slightly affected the number of challengers today.
Everyone sat in the stands, just there for the spectacle. Bai Yu, seeing no challengers, didn't appear before them.
The trainers weren't idle either, discussing the details of yesterday's matches. Some spectators were worried about not being able to get tickets to Alola; after all,
missing a day to catch Pokémon meant missing a day to train and adapt, putting them at a slight disadvantage at the Indigo League.
The Gym's back garden.
Here, you could see all sorts of Pokémon. Bai Yu brought back his main Pokémon, along with those being trained in the lab, and placed them in the back garden.
Since there were many trainers watching the spectacle today, Bai Yu wanted to tidy up the back garden a bit.
"Aww~"
The Ice Vulpix lay in Sabrina's arms, showing its little belly, looking obedient, with a smiling expression on its face, rolling around in Sabrina's arms.
The Litten looked at the Vulpix with envy, slumped on the ground, looking listless, staring at the Vulpix with a hint of resentment in its eyes.
What bad intentions could the Litten have? It just wanted to be like the Vulpix, lying in someone's arms, sleeping soundly, and eating all those delicious treats.
Bai Yu was tidying up the clutter in the backyard, and his main Pokémon weren't idle either, helping to move the heavy items to the nearby storage room.
The previous Gym Leader hadn't had the patience to tidy up the backyard, and Bai Yu had been focused on improving his strength recently, leaving the backyard tidying aside.
"There's so much clutter here, and some airplane wreckage too. I guess that old man used a fighter jet for his show of force."
Bai Yu rummaged through the wreckage on the ground, somewhat helplessly.
What era are we living in? Still using fighter jets?
Riding Flying-type Pokémon like Dragonite and Salamence, their combat power is no stronger than that of a fighter jet. One Dragon Slam and what fighter jet could withstand it?
In Bai Yu's opinion, attacks like cannonballs are far less destructive than the moves released by Pokémon. The high-ranking officers of Team Rocket aren't stupid; if power were more important than moves
, they wouldn't carry so many Voltorbs. They use Voltorbs to create panic during every bombing operation; Voltorbs can be reused repeatedly, while explosives are useless.
"This is..."
Bai Yu found a book among the wreckage and debris. The cover was badly damaged, but he casually flipped it open and saw the contents.
It was a fighter jet stance guide, quite detailed, but useless to Bai Yu.
He didn't have any fighter jets on hand.
"Boss~"
Boss Claw Rathalos shouldered a heavy object, letting out a provocative sound as it looked at the Electivire beside it.
"Roar~"
Electabuzz, not to be outdone, shouldered the same weight, its eyes filled with a hint of provocation as it stared at the warehouse not far away. Electabuzz then started running with the heavy load.
Aggron
was stunned, not yet reacting, before Electabuzz had already rushed into the warehouse, and Aggron, not to be outdone, charged in as well.
Previously, Aggron had been focused on training with Swampert, ignoring Electabuzz. However, as Electabuzz's strength increased, Aggron began to pay more attention to it.
Unlike Swampert and Aggron, Electabuzz was a Pokémon that joined Bai Yu's team later. The effort it had to put in to reach the level of those two Pokémon was unimaginable.
Of course, Bai Yu also frequently took Electabuzz into the game to level up. As Electabuzz's level increased, its training became even more rigorous, and its strength naturally rivaled that of the other two Pokémon.
"Meow~"
Litten walked towards Bai Yu, letting out a soft meow. What would this little kitten become after evolving into Incineroar?
Bai Yu didn't dare to think about it. And then there was that seemingly delicate Dratini, curled up in a ball, lacking any of the majesty expected of a Dragon-type Pokémon.
"Swampert, you guys keep going, I'll go prepare lunch."
Bai Yu calculated the time; Litten's approach meant it was probably lunchtime.
This little guy always started acting cute and clingy at mealtimes, behaving like a spoiled child with Vulpix. Perhaps seeing Vulpix act cute, Bai Yu often gave it Energy Cubes.
After joining the team, Litten also began its journey down this path of no return.
"Hiss~"
Dratini also hissed, moving its body up Bai Yu's trouser leg, quickly climbing onto his shoulder and rubbing against his cheek.
This little guy was hungry too. Left
with no other option, Bai Yu retrieved a pre-prepared energy cube from his system space. The indigo-blue cube emitted a slightly sweet aroma.
The Mini Dragon's long-dormant dragon eyes lit up. It licked the energy cube with its little tongue, then bit it off in one swift motion, along with Bai Yu's finger.
The bite was light; the energy cube entered the Mini Dragon's mouth, transforming into a stream of refined dragon-type energy that merged into its body.
o( ̄︶ ̄)o
The Mini Dragon smiled contentedly, released Bai Yu's finger, rubbed against his cheek, and let out a soft meow. The
previously somewhat happy Litten, however, now lay on the ground, its face a picture of dissatisfaction and resentment, its unhappiness palpable.
Just now, Litten had done something similar, and Bai Yu had not only ignored it but had even fed the Mini Dragon an energy cube right in front of it.
Wasn't this bullying an honest creature?
"Meow~"
Litten meowed in dissatisfaction, scratching the ground with its paws as if it were Bai Yu's face.
"This guy..."
Bai Yu said irritably.
He also took out a red energy cube from his system space. It was slightly spicy, which suited Litten's taste, and emitted a strong spicy aroma.
Dratini's bright little eyes were fixed on the energy cube.
The spicy smell in the air reminded it of bad memories. It suppressed its desire to eat it, closed its eyes, and perched on Bai Yu's shoulder.
"Meow~"
Litten glanced at the energy cube, raised its proud head, and let out a meow, looking like it would rather die than eat it.
"If you don't eat it, I'll give it to Houndoom."
"It also likes this energy cube."
Bai Yu guessed what Litten was thinking and deliberately glanced at Houndoom not far away.
Sure enough, upon hearing this, Litten used Bai Yu's thigh as a springboard, leaping up and snatching the Energy Cube from his hand.
It swallowed it whole, a spicy sensation spreading through its abdomen. Litten released a small flame towards the sky, a satisfied smile spreading across its face.
~o(=∩ω∩=)m
Houndoom, lying nearby, was already used to it. It remained motionless even when Bai Yu mentioned it.
Every time, Bai Yu promised to give it the Energy Cube, but Houndoom never got one. All
it does is play around!
It's been too long since I wrote a daily update, so it's not very good.
