Chapter 15 - Ep 15

Feng Lihan left the cave before sunrise.

Lin Yue woke to the faint sound of movement and forced himself upright. "You're not planning to hunt without me again, are you?"

Feng Lihan paused at the entrance. "Your leg still needs rest."

"I can walk," Lin Yue insisted. "And you said we'd find something together."

After a moment, Feng Lihan nodded. "Stay close."

They followed a narrow animal path deeper into the forest, where the ground grew softer and the air carried a damp, earthy scent. Feng Lihan stopped beside a cluster of tall grass swaying gently in the morning breeze.

"This," he said.

Lin Yue knelt, touching it. His eyes widened. "Reed grass… and moss."

"Is it good?" Feng Lihan asked.

"It's perfect," Lin Yue replied, excitement creeping into his voice. "Dry it properly, layer it thick enough—it'll be better than leaves." we can make matters,

They worked side by side, cutting grass, gathering moss from shaded rocks. Feng Lihan moved swiftly, efficiently; Lin Yue sorted, tested, and arranged.

By the time they returned, the sun was high.

Lin Yue supervised carefully as Feng Lihan spread the dried layers across the bed frame, weaving them together so they wouldn't shift. On top, they placed a layer of softer grass, then covered it with broad leaves stitched together using thin vines. He hunting before wild boar he use their skeem for bedsheet.

"Try it," Feng Lihan said.

Lin Yue lay down.

His body sank slightly—not much, but enough.

His breath caught.

"…This is good," he said quietly. "Really good."

Feng Lihan relaxed, the tension leaving his shoulders.

They weren't done.

Lin Yue rolled to his side and sat up. "We can do more."

He showed Feng Lihan how to twist vines into thicker cords. Together, they hung them across the cave walls, draping dried flowers and feathers Feng Lihan had collected over time but never known what to do with.

The fire pit was cleaned and ringed with smooth stones. A piece of bark became a crude tray for herbs. Even the entrance of the cave was partially screened with hanging vines to soften the wind.

By afternoon, Lin Yue stepped back.

"This is… comfortable," he said, almost in disbelief.

Feng Lihan followed his gaze.

The cave was warm. Ordered. Alive.

"You changed this place," Feng Lihan said.

Lin Yue shook his head. "We did."

That night, Lin Yue lay on the new bedding, staring up at the cave ceiling.

"This might be the first night I sleep well since coming here," he murmured.

Feng Lihan sat nearby, sharpening a stone blade. "Then I'll keep the fire going."

Lin Yue hesitated, then spoke softly. "You don't always have to watch alone."

Feng Lihan's hand paused.

come and try this new bed with me , feng lihan happy to lie down next to him...

Sure....

The fire crackled gently.

Outside, the forest breathed.

And inside the cave, two lives—once strangers—

were laying down into the same rhythm.
