Descending the hidden steps within the ancient ruins, Cobra led Chrollo and his group into a massive royal mausoleum.
Cobra spoke slowly, "This is the underground Royal Mausoleum of Alabasta. Every monarch of the kingdom has been laid to rest here after their passing."
He stopped before the colossal stone monolith in the center of the mausoleum. Looking up at it, his hollow voice echoed through the chamber: "This stone before us... is one of the nine Historical Poneglyphs that record the Ultimate Truth of the World."
"Inscribed upon it is the very thing Crocodile has been searching for... intelligence regarding the Ancient Weapon, Pluton."
"However, it is written entirely in ancient script. Only the scholars of Ohara could decipher it, but... Ohara has been wiped from the face of the earth."
"Thus, the content recorded here has become an undecipherable secret," Cobra said, staring at the stone tablet with a sigh.
"That's not necessarily true," Chrollo said, his eyes holding a profound depth.
He turned his head, looking toward the back of the group with a knowing look. "Miss Robin, you're up."
Robin walked gracefully past the others. Under their gaze, she stood before the massive monolith, looking up at it.
"What does it say, Miss Robin?" Chrollo asked.
"Hmm~ It says... Pluton is real."
(°A°) (°A°) (°A°) (°A°)
Cobra, Vivi, Nami, and Bonney wore identical expressions of shock: "Ehhhhh—?!"
"You just said it out loud just like that?!!"
"Fufufu," Robin chuckled, covering her mouth. "Why is everyone looking at me like that?"
"I can still distinguish between good and evil."
"You defeated Crocodile and gave the people of Alabasta new hope."
"Led here voluntarily by the King himself, you naturally have the right to know what is recorded on it."
"Aren't you in league with Crocodile?!" Vivi asked suspiciously.
Bonney, who was squatting on the ground drawing circles, shook her head. "No... during our operation just now, she never once made a move."
"Although I don't know what her goal is, I don't think it was to invade this country."
Bonney's words vouched for Robin.
Robin smiled at Bonney, then pointed to the monolith behind her, addressing Chrollo: "This records that the so-called Ancient Weapon Pluton is the worst super-battleship in history, built by the shipwrights of Water 7 in ancient times."
"Every cannon on this battleship is capable of destroying an island in a single shot."
"And..." Robin's eyes narrowed slowly as she continued, "it also records the location where this battleship lies dormant..."
"In Wano Country."
Everyone present was stunned into silence by this news.
Only the Troupe members from the Hunter world listened without understanding the gravity of the situation.
This news, which was enough to cause tremors in the outside world, start national wars, or trigger a Buster Call from the World Government... was spoken so casually by Robin.
"What exactly is your objective?" Cobra and Vivi asked guardedly.
After all, the person before them was the Vice President of Baroque Works. They didn't know why Chrollo allowed her to follow them, but for them, one could never be too careful.
"My objective?"
Robin's expression became solemn. "What I have always pursued... is simply the true history."
---
Emerging from the underground mausoleum, even Cobra felt a sense of dislocation, as if a lifetime had passed.
"Benefactor, what are your plans now?" Cobra asked Chrollo and his group.
"We will, of course, continue our journey along the Grand Line. If the opportunity arises, I will collect the complete history. After all... the Ultimate Truth of the World? I doubt there's anyone who wouldn't want to know that," Chrollo remarked.
Cobra's eyes shone. He took Vivi's hand and they bowed deeply to Chrollo and the others once more, speaking with great solemnity: "Then I wish our benefactors a smooth journey ahead."
"Regarding the secrets we heard today, in the name of the King of Alabasta, I will keep them safe for you."
"Vivi and I will pray for you, listening for the news that you have spread hope and laughter to the entire world."
"I swear in the name of the King..." Cobra grasped Chrollo's hand tightly. "Alabasta will forever be your most loyal ally. The people of this land will always remember your kindness."
Beside him, Vivi also had tears in her eyes, reluctant to part. "Chrollo, Nami, remember to write to me!"
"I'll be waiting for news of your final victory!"
Nami comforted her gently.
Chrollo waved his hand with a dashing flair.
Just then, Igaram ran over from the distance, panting heavily. "Bad news! The Marines... The Marines have sent people to arrest Lord Chrollo and the others!!"
"What?!!" Cobra looked horrified. "How can this be?"
Chrollo waved his hand dismissively. "Looks like it's time for us to go."
"But the Marines have sent over a dozen ships this time, blocking the harbor and coast completely! The one leading them is... Marine Captain Smoker!" Igaram said anxiously.
Cobra looked grave. "Lord Chrollo, disguise yourselves as my guards for now. I will find a way to help you set sail. For that, I am willing to offend the World Government!"
Chrollo's lips curled up; he smiled and shook his head. "Why go through so much trouble just to set sail?"
He raised his arm and waved his hand. A white cloth flashed, and in the next second, an incredibly massive ship appeared on the desert sands. Looking at that terrifying length that seemed to stretch endlessly, Cobra—and even Robin—widened their eyes in disbelief.
"Plu... Pluton?!!"
Vivi laughed and explained, "Father, it's not Pluton! That's what I told you about—Chrollo and his crew's pirate ship, the Black Whale!"
"No..." Cobra looked horrified. "You don't understand!"
He stared in shock at the massive hull of the Black Whale. "This volume, this height! I cannot imagine any pirate ship other than Pluton reaching such dimensions!"
Chrollo shrugged and explained with a smile, "It's definitely not Pluton. The sea is vast, so it's not strange for ships of this size to exist. At least as far as I know, there are two other ships about the same size as this one. Besides... the Black Whale doesn't have cannonballs that can destroy islands."
"But having a big ship is useless if you can't avoid the Marine blockade!" Cobra still seemed anxious.
"The blockade." Chrollo pointed his finger toward the sky. "We aren't going by sea."
The next second, to Cobra's shock, the Black Whale rose from the ground... floating in mid-air.
"How... How is that possible!!"
Cobra was astonished beyond words.
Even Robin couldn't help but widen her eyes, shocked to her core. For a ship of such volume and massive scale to be able to fly in the sky... the strategic significance of such a vessel might, in some ways, even surpass that of Pluton!
"I see... I finally understand why the Marines have been chasing you so relentlessly," Robin couldn't help but marvel.
Such technology would make even the World Government panic.
She rested her chin on her hand, lost in thought for a moment, then turned to Chrollo. "Hey, can you let me on board to be your companion?"
Bonney and Nami looked surprised—she was an enemy just moments ago!!
But the even more surprising part came next. Chrollo, standing at the bow, curled his lips into a smile and waved to Robin. "Sure."
"Eh?"
The fish... has taken the bait.
