Season 2 - Chapter 44: The "Arcane" School and Hiding the Blood of Kings
A month after the Erisa war, life in the village calmed down. But Volt knew that Anos and Akuto needed to learn the attraction of the outside world and control their terrifying powers. So he decided to send them to the Arcane Academy, the most prestigious school of magic and martial arts in the entire empire.
Volt's final recommendations
Early one morning, when Anos and Akuto had their bags, Volt was standing at the village gate.
Volt: "Listen son... There you are just simple farmer's sons. Do not show Bundles and Sakuna's power to anyone unless your lives are in danger. I have put a temporary stamp on your energy to make you look like a normal wizard."
Sai was beside them, glancing at Akuto and saying, "And watch out for the girls, the girl witches are much more dangerous than the monsters!"
Getting to the Academy
The Arcane Academy was a huge palace built on a high rock. When Anos and Akuto arrived, they felt thousands of students around them, all sons of ministers and kings of other countries.
During registration, the headmaster, a stern-faced old man named Master Murdoch, looked at their names.
Murdock: "Anos and Akuto... son of 'Farmer's Vault'? There's no place for country boys here, but the rule says anyone who wins the energy test can be here. Move in."
Energy Test (The Crystal Test)
All new students had to touch a large crystal to determine their strength level. A king's son touched it and the crystal turned blue (intermediate level).
When it was Anos' turn, he touched the crystal with just one finger. Even though Volt had sealed his power, Anos' "right eye" glowed for a second. The crystal began to oscillate violently and turned black so deep that it looked like a black hole.
The whole hall was silent. Master Murdock stood up, "How about this? The color black? This means either your power is zero... or it's so great that the crystal can't measure it!"
A new competition
At that moment, a proud student named Kai Lord, the son of the commander-in-chief of the Imperial army, came forward.
Kai: "This is just a rustic trick! True strength lies in the sword, not in a broken crystal. Anos, if you are a man, show me on the training ground who is stronger."
