Chapter 39 -  Tianyun Group’s Acquisition? Dong Muyun!

"That's right. The land deed for Yun Tian Pet Battle Resort belongs to my family. Uncle Guan has wanted to buy it for a long time."

Su Ping straightened up and didn't try to hide anything. After spending this period of time together, he had gained a clearer understanding of Qin Xiaoxue.

This young lady might have a fiery temper, but she didn't play any underhanded games.

As he spoke, Su Ping even raised a hand and gestured a number.

"He even offered this much."

Qin Xiaoxue glanced at it, her expression turning serious.

"I advise you not to sell it. No matter how much he offers—don't sell it."

Su Ping was taken aback for a moment. Then he laughed.

"Do you think I'm stupid? Of course I won't sell it."

This time, it was Qin Xiaoxue's turn to freeze. She stared at him in surprise.

"Oh? So you know something too?"

Su Ping shook his head.

"Not really. But it's not hard to guess. Back when I was still in school, Manager Guan had already talked to my dad several times about buying our land.

"My old man wasn't exactly reliable in daily life, but when it came to big matters, he knew where to draw the line.

"And now? My dad's only been gone a few months. I've just taken over Wood Heart, and how many times has Manager Guan shown up already?"

Su Ping paused, then continued calmly.

"In less than ten days—including today—he's brought this up at least three times. On the surface, it's about renting my Forest Wolves. But every single time, the topic eventually circles back to buying the land.

"Besides money, he's used all kinds of other arguments."

He smiled faintly.

"I may not know what he's in such a hurry for, but no one in this world is stupid. No one makes a losing deal. His offer is fair, and the investment he's already made is indeed massive. Buying the land would make sense."

"But I just feel something's off."

This was Su Ping's true thought.

If he were really just a freshly graduated student like Zhou Shuchen or Li Shu, faced with such an enormous sum of money and seemingly reasonable logic, he might very well have agreed.

But Su Ping wasn't.

A deal that comes knocking on your door is rarely a good deal.

He understood this. And Uncle Guan understood it too.

The only difference was that the other party assumed he was young and inexperienced.

However, Qin Xiaoxue's reaction suggested that she knew more than he did.

Su Ping looked at her complicated expression.

"Do you know some inside information, Sister Qin?"

The complicated look disappeared instantly.

Qin Xiaoxue shot him an annoyed glance.

"Oh? Now you know how to call me 'sister'?"

After glaring at him fiercely, she finally spoke.

"My grandfather hasn't managed to uncover the full details either. But do you know who's really behind Yun Tian Resort?"

"Who?" Su Ping asked without bothering to hide his curiosity.

"Tianyun Group. Have you heard of them?"

"—!"

Yun Tian Resort. Tianyun Group.

The names were just reversed, yet Su Ping had never linked them together before.

The reason was simple.

The gap was far too big.

Yun Tian Resort might have money, but compared to Tianyun Group, it was nothing.

Even Fire King Corporation—the company Jin Sheng worked for, the one Zhou Shuchen signed with—was insignificant compared to Tianyun Group within Jianghai Province.

This was a true local behemoth.

Its industries spanned pet real estate, pet medical care, mainstream resource trading, and countless livelihood sectors.

It even had influence across the entire eastern region of Dragon Country.

And this gigantic entity… was connected to that middle-aged manager who always smiled like a blooming chrysanthemum?

Qin Xiaoxue's words were not something Su Ping would ever doubt.

Which meant—

The real party trying to buy his land deed wasn't Uncle Guan.

It was Tianyun Group itself.

And yet, despite Tianyun Group being deeply involved in pet real estate, Su Ping refused to believe they would casually pour resources into such a suburban location.

Especially when Qin Xiaoxue continued:

"A few days ago, after that surnamed Guan left your place, I saw him report your response to someone else."

"That person was Tianyun Group's chairman—Dong Muyun."

Dong Muyun.

The name wasn't unfamiliar to Su Ping. He had heard it mentioned in news broadcasts more than once.

But he had never seen her in person.

Hearing this, Su Ping frowned.

Tianyun Group was massive.

If it were just some internal project prompting them to buy his land, that would still be understandable.

But if even the chairman herself was personally involved—

Even personally asking about it—

That changed everything.

Su Ping asked quickly:

"If she really wanted it, there should be plenty of ways to force me to sell, right?"

He didn't want to sell—but someone of that stature had countless resources.

Even leveraging official channels to enforce a compulsory acquisition wasn't impossible.

Qin Xiaoxue nodded.

"That's exactly the strange part. From start to finish, no information has leaked out.

"My grandfather doesn't know. Even within Tianyun Group, very few people seem to know.

"I've been using my connections to investigate lately, but I haven't found anything conclusive."

She exhaled softly.

"The fact that they haven't used any forceful means probably has something to do with this secrecy."

She looked at Su Ping seriously.

"So I'm just reminding you—something's wrong here. Be careful."

"Thank you."

This time, Su Ping's gratitude was genuine.

He had suspected something was off, but he hadn't expected the situation to be this big.

Seeing his sincerity, Qin Xiaoxue suddenly felt a little embarrassed. She waved her hand.

"Hey, Woodhead is still at your place. I'm counting on you to keep improving him—even beyond Self-Healing.

"Alright, it's getting late. I'm heading back."

Watching her leave at a brisk pace, Su Ping glanced at the time.

It was only six o'clock.

How was that 'late'?

He didn't dwell on it.

Instead, he turned on his computer and typed a few keywords into the search bar:

"Tianyun Group."

"Dong Muyun."

'Tianyun Group is a modern enterprise…'

He closed the generic company profile almost immediately and focused on Dong Muyun instead.

Even online, there was very little information.

There was only a single photo—a side profile.

In the picture, the woman wore sportswear, seemingly jogging. Her figure was tall and well-proportioned, curves clearly outlined.

But Su Ping didn't care about that.

What caught his attention was the information related to her pet beast.

According to the available data, Dong Muyun was a Beast Tamer of no less than Monarch level.

Her main contracted pet was a special beast called Skyroaming Fish.

Its combat power was nothing extraordinary.

But what truly stood out was this—

It was an extremely rare spatial-attribute pet beast.

Staring at the screen, rereading the introduction again and again, Su Ping fell into deep thought.

Why would someone like her… be interested in this piece of land?
