"Welcome to Feikong Express Logistics. Feikong Express Courier No. 95841, Wang Hao, and pet beast courier 'Gaga' are at your service."
"Gaga!"
"Please check your delivery items. If everything is correct, you may sign for them."
After retrieving the resources from the courier's spatial wristband and the giant-feather sparrow named Gaga, Su Ping carefully checked everything. Only after confirming there were no issues did he complete the sign-off.
Inside were just under twenty sets of materials for Wood's Heart magic potions, as well as four portions of poison-element resources.
Altogether, they had cost Su Ping over four million.
Every single cent he had earned from Qin Xiaoxue had gone straight into these purchases.
Li Shu was still over there fertilizing the Falling Pine, and Su Ping hadn't asked him to help.
With items worth several million, no amount of caution was excessive.
Besides, even if he did call Li Shu over, once that guy knew what these things were, he probably wouldn't dare touch them anyway.
Calling Little Qing over from training, Su Ping wasted no time and headed straight to the infirmary with her.
He had been waiting for this moment.
Compared to remaking magic potions to cultivate Wood's Heart for the other Lin Wolves, his own soul-linked pet beast was obviously far more important.
Moreover, Su Ping had long wanted to test Little Qing's current tolerance for poison-element resources.
"Awwoo!"
Little Qing was visibly excited.
The little one could sense her master's excitement—and it was right here that she had comprehended Poison Wood's Heart.
This place held special meaning for her.
Su Ping turned on the life-monitoring device and aimed it at Little Qing, ensuring her vital signs could be tracked at all times. Then he put on a gas mask himself before slowly opening a small wooden box.
Although these poison-element resources had already been processed, compared to pet beasts, Beast Tamers at this stage were still far more fragile.
Better safe than sorry.
Inside was a special plant.
Its dark green leaves bore three deep purple flowers.
The blossoms were extremely fresh, with no pungent smell at all. Instead, they carried a strangely enchanting beauty.
Yet such a beautiful plant bore a rather unfriendly name: Wolfbane Aconite.
The name sounded fierce, but in reality, it was the cheapest of the three poison-element resources Su Ping had purchased.
It was a purely cultivated poison plant, unrelated to poison-type pet beasts.
As such, its value was relatively low, only useful for ordinary poison-element pets.
But that was already enough.
Little Qing's reaction proved that Su Ping's choice had been correct.
The moment she saw it, her faintly glowing eyes locked onto the plant, all her attention drawn to it.
Wolves were carnivorous animals. For her to crave a plant like this could only mean that her bloodline and genes were responding.
Pet beasts didn't know restraint—but Su Ping did.
Wearing specially made gloves, he didn't dare let Little Qing swallow the entire Wolfbane Aconite.
Instead, he plucked one of the purple flowers and handed it to her.
Little Qing swallowed it in one gulp—without even chewing.
Gulp.
That left Su Ping somewhat speechless.
Then came the staring contest.
A full ten minutes passed.
Behind the gas mask, Su Ping's eyes were already slightly red from staring, while Little Qing tilted her head.
"Awwoo?"
Su Ping's eyelids twitched. He hurriedly checked the life-monitoring device.
All indicators were completely normal.
Even her heart rate and pulse hadn't increased at all.
Not strong enough?
Apparently, consuming a single Wolfbane Aconite flower really made little difference to Little Qing.
So Su Ping plucked the second flower.
Once again—three quick bites, another familiar gulp, and another ten minutes of staring at each other.
"Awwoo…"
Little Qing opened her mouth again, even sticking out her tongue to lick her lips.
The meaning was obvious.
Looking at the last remaining flower and the rest of the plant, Su Ping fell into doubt.
Don't tell me I bought fake goods?
That shouldn't be possible—the Beast Tamers' Association cracked down hard on that sort of thing.
Soon, however, Su Ping narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Little Qing, open your mouth."
"Aw?"
Little Qing obediently opened her mouth, looking at her master with confusion.
Su Ping peered inside—and sure enough, faint purple discoloration had appeared on her tongue, which had originally been pink.
Other than that, there were no changes at all.
This time, Su Ping gritted his teeth.
He prepared antidotes and stomach-cleansing tools in advance, then placed the entire remaining Wolfbane Aconite in front of Little Qing.
Gulp.
She swallowed it whole.
Su Ping's heart immediately jumped into his throat.
Poison-element resources were fundamentally different from other materials.
If ordinary resources didn't work, they usually just had no effect. Poison-element ones, however, always carried real danger.
When purchasing these items, Su Ping had even been required to provide personal identification.
Sure enough—
After just five minutes, the life-monitoring device showed Little Qing's pulse and heart rate beginning to rise.
Su Ping held his breath, staring intently at both Little Qing and the monitor.
Her previously energetic body quickly went limp as she collapsed onto the examination table.
Faint purple veins surfaced across her body.
They were very light—but against her originally emerald-green fur, the color looked especially jarring.
However, those purple vein patterns lasted only a few minutes before fading away again.
Little Qing soon opened her eyes and stood back up.
Instead of relaxing, Su Ping frowned slightly.
Little Qing's life was no longer in danger—that was a relief.
But her cultivation realm hadn't improved at all.
Her skills showed no changes either.
Even Poison Wood's Heart, which Su Ping had expected might improve, showed not the slightest enhancement.
That left him somewhat disappointed.
But it was understandable.
After all, Wolfbane Aconite was a low-tier poison resource with limited value.
And Little Qing had already reached Ordinary Rank Six. If improvement came that easily, that would be unreasonable.
Poison Wood's Heart was powerful, and Little Qing's mutated poison-element bloodline was exceptional—but even so, rapid breakthroughs made no sense.
Yet just as that thought formed, something unexpected happened.
While nothing else changed, at that very moment, the Myriad Spirits Codex suddenly reacted.
On the emerald-green card representing the Lin Wolf, beneath the log section, a new line of text slowly appeared:
[Poison-element cultivation effectiveness for poison-mutated bloodline pet beasts has improved. Analysis requirements reduced to a certain extent.]
[Further analysis of the mutation cause of poison-element Lin Wolves has been achieved. You may consume 49,990 experience points from this Codex entry to forcibly analyze the cause of the Lin Wolf's poison bloodline mutation and obtain the mutation cultivation method.]
