My first creature card was of course going to be a female and since I was in a world of heroes why not lean into the whole hero idea. Picking a regular goody two shoes wasn't really going to make any waves I needed someone with some grit and realness someone that was both hot and dangerous at least visually. It also wouldn't hurt if I could justify it somehow if someone started asking uncomfortable questions. Then it hit me someone definitely checked all those boxes a bad girl turned good that was both strong and stacked Malevola from Dispatch.
I concentrated on everything I remember about her looks it wasn't hard I had a few commissions in my previous life for her and other demon types. The real hard part was trying balance character in description I planning but once I finished drawing the art the card immediately became some kind of metallic material in the top corner a charge indicator flashed. I was immediately surprised and unsure of what the hell just happened but one thing was certain I had powers.
Going off instinct I cautiously tapped the charge indicator and felt something link to me and I finally understood how my power manifested. Every card I made could be manifested into reality but it wasn't for free I they needed energy to summon whatever the card depicted they weren't capable of naturally charging and required a source but once fully charged they could manifest a few hours so long as they were maintained and not actively doing anything strenuous. This could be extended through my link passively adding power or actively whenever they are using skills.
The drain felt minimal but still noticeable I could recover this energy faster then what Malevola's card drained but what if I required more cards or more powerful cards could I support them? My power seemed to answer that for me with a resounding no, at least not as I am now. I have some plans that could act as a stop gap measure until I can find a way forward for now though I actively pushed sixty percent of my reserves and realized that I filled about twenty percent of the card energy requirement which felt like someone dumped ice water over me realizing how pathetic my reserves were and gone were my immediate plans of grandeur.
It was safe to say that my plans for game were dead in the water before they even had a chance to fail. I could say that I was disappointed but honestly I'm high on the fact that I have actual powers that were already immediately awesome even if I couldn't truly use them just yet. Going by the rate of how fast the card was passively charging it would be ready by tomorrow morning.
The following day I could feel the card was fully charged and ready to go and my reserves were already recovered as well. Without wasting time I began putting my plan into action I drew a protoss pylon from Starcraft 2 and instead of traditional blue I decided on red of the Tal'darim mostly because I liked the look. My power told me that it could be summoned in about two to three days but it wouldn't be full in fact I needed to be careful on where I used it as although it could act as a battery it might unintentionally affect others around us. I couldn't ponder more on it though as I needed to get ready for work as I didn't want to get chewed out by my manager for being late.
Work was slow not that I was surprised to say the least but it was fine for now as I dealt with only a few boring idiots instead of a heard. Using my personal savings plus what I got from the victim assistance fund I decided it was best to buy my own space. I didn't dare summon Malevola yet as I wasn't sure what the result was so I began looking online for places in my price range on my phone. My normal life continued for another 2 and half weeks until I finally found and old private school that was up for auction no one bid on it as it was more of hazardous than it could possibly be worth so I got it for about a hundred dollars as that was the lowest possible bidding price.
I still had a month left before I had to move out from my apartment so within that time I planned to renovate as much as I could using my cards as I definitely didn't have the money to do it. I went to check out the property to make sure there weren't any squatters and to see what I would need. It seemed like it was in alright condition just filthy not that was truly surprising I didn't find squatters but I did notice graffiti and a few broken windows and the locks seemed solid. The real problem was the cafeteria fridge and freezer apparently no one cleaned it out before they left so when I opened it I immediately had to throw up before shutting it. No power meant everything inside rotted and because it was sealed the stench had nothing but time to marinate.
Seeing as the school grounds weren't too close to anything I finally figured it was safe enough to try my new card. Needless to say it didn't disappoint as a demoness in a white body suit, cut off shorts and red heels appeared. She glanced around and immediately knew what was going through her head.
"I would have loved to summon you somewhere better but didn't want to risk at my apartment and unfortunately I can't afford better for the moment"
Malevola: Alright I'll try not to judge the serial killer vibes of the place but let's not make it a habit I don't want my next summons to an abandoned amusement park.
"Okay I get it, but for now bear with it I'm not a billionaire with money to burn on a tropical island for vacation but we'll definitely get there eventually" (I said while spanking her ass)
I was a man starved for female companionship so I immediately ordered her to take us to my place before taking her to bedroom. She kicked off her heels and began to shimy out her shorts before glancing at me realizing that I was some how already naked and she was wearing less than me before we started. She only arched her brow as if saying "seriously" while I gave an unapologetic smile and a shrug.
Malevola: you're getting me a new top if this doesn't fix it self somehow (as she literally ripped it off before grabbing me with her tail and dragging me to the bed)
