Chapter 35 - Chapter 34: Tent Intruder

Hirune woke up in the middle of the night and looked around. It was pitch black all around her, the light from the moon shining between the tiny gaps in the tent's cloth being her only source of light. She was in the lower bunk of a bunk bed, across the tent from her, there was another bunk bed. The person sleeping on the bunk above her was Kopna, the one's across from her were Ellen and Kala, Clint and Tundra were in the bunk bed between the two.

"Now would be a good time to go into the Forsaken Realm," she muttered. "But there could be an assassin nearby... No, if you get caught up on that you won't even be able to sleep."

"Don't worry about that, I'm wide awake," Tundra said as he peeked into the tent giving Hirune the scare of a lifetime.

"And how can I be sure you're actually Tundra?"

"Because I wouldn't dare to kiss you without your permission."

Hirune held in a smile, "I'm pretty sure you were the one that made an ice clone of me kiss an assassin disguised as you."

Tundra rolled his eyes and sat down near the entrance, "Don't worry, I'm keeping guard."

Hirune got out of bed went over to him and put her arms around his shoulders, "If someone appears pull on my arm and I'll come back, okay?"

He nodded as she muttered and appeared in the Forsaken Realm. Now, the Void Blade was erected into the ground in front of her and a Shadow Jester prancing around. Seeing the jester, she sighed and ignored it as she looked around the castle, which was pretty boring. Sure, there were some interesting sounding rooms, but without the people or things necessary to make this place actually fun to be in it was just gloomy.

The Shadow Jester pranced over and started trying to make her laugh by doing funny things, but nothing worked, she just wasn't having it.

She walked outside of the castle and went over to one of the ponds. She dipped her foot into the water to test the temperature; the pond was warm. The jester tried to push her in as a joke, but she devoured it instead, which sent it back within the castle.

She took off her clothes and sat in the pond, laid her head back on the edge of it, feeling as the roses bloomed and withered on her head as she looked up at the three moons. Compared to the boring, cool, and moist castle with damp air, the pond was calm and relaxing. Although the fish did give her a scare every so often.

She nearly fell asleep in the pond, the only reason she didn't being for the Shadow Jester prancing around her combined with the fact that she just felt a tug on her arm from Tundra in the real world.

She left the Forsaken Realm and stood up, "What is it?" She said not noticing that she was now in her underwear and wet.

Tundra turned around and pulled her back down. "There's footsteps outside near the lake. Also, how did you magically get in your underwear?" He whispered.

"I got into a pond in the Forsaken Realm. Also how do you hear something that's so far away?" She asked as the Shadow Jester appeared before her and swung its arms in a manner that told her to move further into the tent. Seeing this and remembering what Namulenza told her about the jester's intuition, she pulled Tundra further into the tent and rolled under her bed while holding Tundra close to her.

"Sorry about getting you wet. Go on," she whispered. But hearing the footsteps right next to her, she covered Tundra's mouth. Tundra slowly moved around Hirune carefully and held her closer while pushing his back closer to the edge of the tent.

Hirune would've melted into him, if it wasn't for the jester pulling her hair so she'd stay focused. She rubbed the back of her head and glared at air, then quickly stopped as she heard some rustling at the entrance of the tent, then footsteps.

THUD, THUD, THUD, THUD

The footsteps stopped behind them. Tundra held Hirune tightly and pulled her head into his chest. Then they started pacing around.

Slowly, Tundra started making an ice wall between them and the edge of the bed. the jester pulled Hirune's head again and tapped the ice. Somehow, only she heard the jester tapping the ice as she held Tundra's hands in her and shook her head while mouthing, 'The moonlight will reflect off of the ice.'

Then she heard the springs on her bed as the intruder climbed to the second bunk. Hearing this, Hirune fully turned her head to the jester behind her, nearly twisting her neck all the way around and gave it a look that could kill a Victorian child.

The jester pulled its collar as if to express that her glare made it sweat before jumping up and kicking the intruder out of the tent. The loud rustle of the person flying through the tents entrance waking up Ellen.

Ellen came down from the top bunk as the intruder walked back into the tent. They stared at each other for a solid minute before the intruder reached their hand towards where Hirune and Tundra were hidden.

As this happened, Hirune felt all of the air in her lungs leaving. She gripped Tundra's shirt while trying desperately to breathe but couldn't as the intruder kept taking the air from her lungs until her vision started to blur.

Tundra reached his hand towards their feet and shot an icicle at them, to no avail though as the air that was being taken right out of Hirune's lungs made the icicle turn around and hit Hirune in the back. Or at least it would have if the Shadow Jester hadn't caught it, closed the gap between itself and the intruder and jammed deep enough into their eye to scoop their brains out.

Ellen gagged as she used a black hole to be rid of the brains being scooped out by a magically floating icicle.

Hirune finally managed to gasp for air as Ellen squatted down and looked at them under the bed, "Would you two mind explaining all of this?"
