Chapter 32 - Chapter 31: Life Quizlet

They ended up walking around the town until she felt half ready to meet the others again. Walking into the main floor, she noticed that they were all there staring at a piece of paper Ellen was holding. She looked up from the paper and gave Hirune a friendly smile. Hirune wasn't looking at her though, instead she was busy staring at the shadow of the couch as for but a moment, it had resembled the shape of a spider.

Snapping out of it, she tripped down the stairs and hit the floor hard, her head bouncing off the tiles. Tundra rushed over and checked her head, she wasn't bleeding, though she was probably a little concussed.

Ellen walked over, "Is she okay?!"

Tundra nodded, "Should be, let's give her a moment though, she might be concussed.

"I'm not," she moaned. "Well, I don't think I am, I've never been concussed."

Tundra and Ellen helped her over to the couch and gave her a cup of water. After a good ten minutes she was fine.

She looked to her left, Clint stood there next to Kala, who seemed mildly worried about her. As for Ellen, she was staring at the paper as if she was unsure what to do with it. Hirune looked at Tundra, who was sitting there calmly, or he at least made himself seem calm. She looked down at her lap, her ears rang slightly from the lack of noise, each page Ellen flipped causing her to flinch and glance at her, every tap of someone's foot louder than a wave crashing into you and flooding your ears, every eye in the room seemingly judging her, and the shadow of the antenna on the TV looking an awfully lot like spider legs.

She started shivering slightly as her temperature rose, the ringing in her ear turning into many-- no, more measurable; four different voices whispering in gibberish in her ears, the pages and tapping getting louder, the shadow moving, her heart beating out of her chest and eyes tearing up slightly, a thousand thoughts coursing through her brain at the same time as her hands trembled in fear... Then some warmth, well, it was colder than anything else she'd felt before, but it felt warm. She looked up at the "warmth" and saw Tundra.

He tilted his head and looked at her with concern, "You, okay?"

Hirune nodded and scooted closer to him, resting her head on his shoulder as she clasped her hands together and bit her lips. Ellen glanced over as Tundra put his arm around her shoulder and rubbed it slightly making sure that she's okay with the contact.

Ellen cleared her throat and went back to the first page, "Hirune, we have some questions to see everything you remember..." She looked up from the pages and at her biting her lip and holding her chin with her fingers, "Though I'm not sure right now is a good time. If you want, we can save this for another time when you're more comfortable, would you like that?"

Hirune shook her head, "I'll take it now, I'd rather remember things now than later."

Ellen nodded, "Alright, number one: -- No, uh, let's see..." She flipped through a bunch of pages and then just threw away the packet. "Just tell us everything you remember that you're comfortable telling us."

Hirune nodded, "Okay, well... I remember my name, my family's death, who Namulenza is, um... uh... I remember my school, my old home, Mr. Devi, I remember Amia-- I mean, the bad me. I forgot you don't know her name. As I was saying though, I remember Cuelebre, I remember Aka shrine, I remember the names of a bunch of the other gods, I remember a bunch of history, I remember myths, I remember what artifacts, incantations, etc. are, I remember..." She stopped and shook her head, "I remember how the Forsaken Realm looks, I remember summoning Mr. Yellow, and I remember Utsu and her partner, I remember your goal, I remember Namulenza telling me about Gatsdia, I remember Ms. Mictcacihlt or something like that, her names hard, and I remember Kopna! Yeah, instructor Kopna! How long has it been since I've talked to her?"

She suddenly got all giddy and started kicking her feet with a big smile on her face while she continued repeating 'Intructor Kopna' in a whimsy voice.

Ellen sighed, 'That's honestly way less than I expected. Unless she's not comfortable sharing much with us, which would make sense, for living a whole sixteen years she doesn't seem to remember most of her life.'

"Hey, Hirune, tell me, how many more memories do you have besides those? A lot more, a little more, give me a rough estimate. I'm not asking for the details it just seems like very little for being sixteen years old."

Hirune thought about it for a second, "A little, a bunch of repeating things, a small amount of random ones that stick out like a sore thumb, Gregor and that's basically it. I also don't remember who most people are."

"And what was the one that you changed your mind on earlier?"

Hirune ignored her and started inspecting her surroundings again, avoiding looking at the TV as much as possible.

Tundra looked at Hirune for a moment, then at Ellen, "You should try to contact this instructor Kopna, she seems like she might be of help. Make sure to explain the situation though. As for the other lady, I'll figure it out somehow don't worry."
