Meanwhile, inside the mindscape, Mary stood pale beside the Pill furnace rather than the Cauldron. The Life-Returning pill was the most difficult pill formula she had ever attempted. As long as a person still had a trace of breath, this medicinal pill could preserve life for a full day.
Just as the pill was about to form in the furnace, insight struck her mind like lightning. She shattered the bottleneck of a fifth-rank alchemist.
Her mental strength was drained violently by the furnace. Her vision blurred, her face drained of color.
"Wife, hold on," Ryan's voice echoed in her consciousness.
"I'm fine," Mary replied through clenched teeth. "It's almost done."
Outside, the black clouds churned violently. A single bolt of lightning then tore through the sky.

Ryan could wait no longer. He rushed forward as the lightning struck straight toward the furnace, to the villa.
The flash was blinding.
Then silence.
The clouds dispersed as quickly as they had formed.
