Mary finished the piece in her hand, then smiled lightly. "It's sweet. I didn't expect it to be so expensive. Looks like I ate more than three pounds' worth just now."
Ryan picked up a clean towel and gently wiped her hands, his movements natural and intimate. Then he looked up at Robert. "Robert, your hospitality is generous. We only hope we can find the top-quality jade we're looking for here."
Robert studied them for a moment. Their reactions were seamless, too seamless. Still, it was almost time to eat. Perhaps over a meal, something would slip.

He turned and walked out. Ryan exchanged a brief glance with Mary, then rose with her and followed.
