We were just about to reach the parking lot when my eyes betrayed me.
I stopped.
Like—full stop.
There she was.
Chan.
Walking toward us like unfinished business with legs.
My brain screamed: Oh wow. Revenge DLC unlocked.
I noticed Yuri had stopped running and switched to walking, like a man who suddenly realized this drama was above his pay grade. I casually turned and started heading toward the other road, pretending I absolutely knew where I was going.
"Where are you going?" Yuri asked.
"To see someone," I replied, smooth like butter because i just hit a jackpot.
I walked straight toward the person ahead.
Andrew.
Oh.
So today was just everyone i want to see day.
Chan came closer, then suddenly stopped when she saw him.
Andrew blinked like he'd just spotted a rare Pokémon.
"Chantelle. Finally. I've found you. I need to talk."
Yuri finally reached us and, because he's Yuri, he added,
"Oh, this is going to be nice."
I nodded.
Yes. Nice.
Like a car crash—you can't look away.
Andrew suggested, "Can we go to a restaurant and talk?"
Chan hesitated… then agreed.
And just like that, they walked off together.
I stood there watching until they disappeared, my inner narrator already writing dramatic background music.
Then a voice whispered near my ear,
"You wanna see him?"
I answered without thinking,
"Very much. miss K very much."
My brain: WHY did you say that out loud??
"What about a kiss from him?" the voice teased.
"Yeah," I replied.
A peck landed on my cheek.
I turned.
Keifer.
Standing right beside me like he had always been there.
I looked around.
Keifer.
Ci-N.
Yuri.
All of them.
Ci-N squinted at me. "What have you been thinking about for the past two minutes?"
Keifer nodded. "True."
Yuri nodded too.
Excuse me?? Was there a meeting while I was gone??
"If you weren't thinking," Keifer added, "you wouldn't have answered questions like...."
Ci-N smirked. "A robot in control."
I stared at them.
Yuri tilted his head. "So… what were you thinking about?"
Keifer immediately said, "Obviously me."
I scoffed. "In your dreams."
His phone rang.
Ci-N picked it up, listened, cut the call, then leaned in and whispered something into Keifer's ear.
Keifer nodded. "Done."
Then he turned to me.
"Would you come along?"
"Where?" I asked.
"Sienna's house."
My brain paused.
Oh.
Sienna.
The girl he was paired with.
Ci-N jumped in, enjoying himself way too much.
"So you want to see your man alone with another girl for three—no, four hours? Actually, a night and a morning?"
I narrowed my eyes. "That's why you're there."
Keifer quickly added, "But I want you to come."
…annoyingly effective.
"Okay," I said.
Yuri blinked. "So how are you getting there?"
Ci-N shrugged. "Sienna sent the location. Thirty-minute drive."
My inner thought sighed dramatically:
Great. Road trip. . Pending chaos.
What could possibly go wrong?
