Chapter 36 - Chapter 33: The House with Too Many Trees

Jay-Jay POV

The moment I grabbed Ci-N's phone and squinted at the screen, my soul sighed.

"Keifer," I said calmly—the calm before a storm—"Ci-N is using the wrong map."

There was silence.

Then Ci-N laughed.

A very guilty, very nervous laugh.

"Ah—sorry, my bad," he said, scratching his head like that would magically fix GPS trauma. He quickly switched maps and announced, "Okay! Correct location now."

Correct location my foot, I thought. If we end up in a forest ritual, I'm blaming him.

After some driving, we finally arrived… and something felt off.

"The area is weird," I said slowly.

"Weird?" Ci-N echoed. "It's just trees."

I stared harder.

Men stare at danger and say 'it's just trees'—classic.

"How," I began, pointing dramatically, "can an area have only trees, no houses, and a few bodyguards standing around like they're waiting for their master to emerge from the shadows?"

Keifer nodded. "True… but there's a house in front. Look."

I looked.

Correction.

That wasn't a house.

That was a mansion that could host 100 people and still have spare rooms.

When we stepped out of the car, six guards stood in front like human warning signs. Two of them approached immediately.

Instinct kicked in.

Ci-N and I both hid behind Keifer.

CEO shield activated.

"What do you want here?" one guard asked, voice deep enough to vibrate my bones.

"Sienna," Keifer replied calmly. "We're here to see her."

After a tense few minutes—long enough for me to plan my will—another guard returned.

"You may come in."

Inside the gate, everything was… beautiful. Elegant. Quiet. Too quiet. The kind of quiet that whispers rich secrets.

Then I saw it.

A large family picture on the wall: a man, a woman, and a young girl. She looked like a younger version of Sienna—same face, same eyes—but something about it felt dusty… twisted.

"She looks like Sienna," Ci-N said.

"Of course she—"

"That's my late twin brother and late parents."

We all turned.

Sienna stood there in shorts and a top, a headset in her hand, completely casual—like she didn't live in a place guarded like a villain's headquarters.

"Are they home?" Ci-N asked.

She blinked. "she said late. Use your head, you fool."

"Sorry," I muttered immediately.

"Sorry," Ci-N echoed faster.

She sighed. "It's nothing. By the way—welcome to my home."

"Only you?" Ci-N asked.

She shook her head. "No. Me and the staff—bodyguards, cooks, maids—and my four guardians. They raised me after my parents passed away."

Silence.

"Oh," I said softly.

Suddenly the creepy trees made sense.

"Nice," I added, nodding like I totally wasn't overwhelmed.

And just like that, I knew—

This place had stories.

And we had just stepped right into one.
