Chapter 51 — The Unknown Threat
Kiera's chest tightened as her eyes adjusted to the dim light. The faint blinking of the second device cast eerie shadows across the walls. Her heart raced—not from fear alone, but from the realization that Vivienne wasn't their only problem.
The figure stepping out from the shadows was tall, broad-shouldered, and completely unfamiliar. His face was partially hidden under a hood, but the glint in his eyes made Kiera's blood run cold.
"Who… who are you?" Kiera demanded, holding Leo closer.
The man tilted his head slowly. "Someone you should have been afraid of a long time ago."
Kade stepped in front of Kiera, protective and tense. "You're not touching them. Whoever you are."
The stranger smiled faintly, almost amused. "Oh, I'm not here for you. Not… yet."
Kiera's sister groaned and shifted slightly on the ground. "Kiera… whoever he is… he's dangerous. Don't trust him."
